The build has existed for years but has recently become popular due to social media

It has not been popular for years, Aviator was buffed in update 20.4, which was just about a year ago; before that it was 20% reduction, which wasn't high enough to stop self-kills. Diamond Skin was also changed to Radiation damage (necessary for surviving the Castanas) in mid-2016, so at best it has existed in its current no-damage-to-self for two years. Before that, Trinities were actually killing themselves doing this strategy, not counting original 100% reduction blessing (which was a strategy people used to go very long in extended missions; it wasn't a niche build, but rather popular, based on YouTube videos of the time).

It also scales very highly, as Trinity can easily remove all enemy armor by herself with Abating Link. High strength/low efficiency isn't a problem either, as a high range/strength Energy Vampire ensures she easily stays topped off.

It's broken because a single frame can negate gameplay to a ridiculous extent for the rest of the squad with practically zero risk to themselves (just hit alt-fire after you jump, you could even make a hyper-easy macro for that and claim you need that macro for carpal tunnel). 56 meters of instant-kill through walls with no LoS, infinite energy, infinite self-heals; hell, at least Equinox has to charge up a little bit.

In any case, I'm all for killing efficiently, within reason. When your uber-meta build denies gameplay to the rest of the squad, it's too much. Making groups specifically to avoid these meta strategies is indicative of how obnoxious they are to other players. The majority of players should not have to work around the group of players that wants to play at maximum efficiency (why can't they make their own groups instead of imposing their will on public matches? I guess that require mores effort than just spamming throw/jump/alt-fire).

In short, QYBS. It's a broken strategy that has only recently-ish come into the spotlight due to Aviator being rebuffed, Sancti Castanas receiving a buff, and ESO being released (admittedly with a horrid efficiency mechanic). It has not "existed for years", and it makes the game non-enjoyable for other players (simply getting rewards does not constitute enjoyment, playing the game is the intended vehicle for fun. If you just want rewards, go player a cookie-clicker, which is what Nuke-Trinity has boiled down to).

    senator Warframe

New frame confirmed. Ultimate is the entire Corrupted Vor monologue in the form of a filibuster, accompanied by an unskippable cut-scene. Map-wide nuke at end.

  3. Such is the nature of the beast in Warframe. Players will always find the most creative ways to break it, whether it be via exploit or number-crunching.

But yeah, DPS Trin is broken. Scales high, no risk to self with timing, infinite energy, heals, and wider range than most ultimates with no aiming requirement/no LoS, and can easily be macroed (3, 4, throw, jump, alt-fire, repeat, drop pad every 10 seconds).

People defending it was necessary for rotation C in ESO are lying, as well. No meta frames are required, I've been there solo with both Chroma and Excalibur. It's a broken exploit that needs a nerf.

  4. Either make it work like every other crit bonus with Blood Rush (multiply, not flat addition), or add a brief cooldown, 2-3 seconds or so. You can still keep a combo counter up to keep doing damage, but you don't destroy your team's ears with swishswishswishswish constantly. That way, people who use it to proc Berserker on low crit weapons can still use it, but it also reduces the prevalence of spammers/macro-ers. It would turn from a massive, constant damage boost to a way to deal a large amount of burst DPS, even with quick-melee.

For the record, I've sold my only copy of the mod. I hit Zone 8 in elite solo without real difficulty with a variety of frames/weapons. Claiming that Maiming Strike is required to hit a full rotation is a pile of hot garbage, and a complete strawman argument. There are plenty of strategies that are just as powerful, but none quite as brain-dead.

Right, finished a run. Got to zone 13, then we decided to quit. My thoughts as requested:

Simaris is all about efficiency, yet he expects us to be inefficient running a game mode that has no loot, and a very harsh reward pool with things we can mostly farm elsewhere. For Khora, it's comparable to what you farm for Nidus, except no loot, and lower tier relics that aren't guaranteed, as well as the usual endo reward that doesn't really meet the effort you have to put into the mission. My question there is: why would people run this over anything else? The usual response would be "because it's fun", but I'm not sure that holds up very well with the global playerbase.

Spawn rate is high to very high, as the enemies just kind of teleport in, and you can't delay spawns or make them spawn further away, like you can on regular missions. The enemy scaling goes very quickly until about rotation C where it appears to start stagnating. As a result, The New Strange is a very low requirement to be doing a mission like this.

Speaking of low requirements, once you are locked into a squad and you enter, you have no way of dropping out. As a result, you are stuck with the squad you are given, and are at their mercy for when they want to quit, should they decide to keep going forever. Not all people have jobs, ergo you may get complaints in region chat saying "Ugh I had to leave a sanctuary mission because my squad didn't want to leave and I lost everything because I was AFK".

Finally, something minor I noticed: it seems a Nidus' stacks reset to somewhere at 5 when you head through a portal. I'm not sure if this is due to balance or otherwise, but it's ever so slightly annoying. I don't know of any other mission that does this, either, but I suppose since the balancing of the gamemode's duration is about keeping up the killcount, that probably makes sense.

TL;DR: Good game mode, but loot pool's the only reward, hard for newbies that meet requirements, and no getting off the ride early.

In regards to Nidus stacks, it seems as though the ability reset on entering conduits used a nullifier mechanic; during the transition, Nidus seems to lose about three or so stacks due to drain (you can see the stacks drain bit by bit instead of a straight delete).

We are getting off-topic. QT stagger effect rendering itself and (squishy, not invisible) warframe useless on a high lvl missions was the topic. I also have my opinion on Vitality VS Redirection, but let's discuss it in appropriate post. Thanks!

Pain Threshold semi-recently (few months?) got fixed to actually work on QT, IIRC. It turns the long stagger into what looks like a quick side-step/dodge, and lets you get outta dodge very quickly. You should definitely try it out, it's incredibly helpful.

As for Hyekka Masters insta-gibbing through QT, that more a problem of those units. See their DPS vs Bombard, Napalms, or Gunners in the simulcram. It's way too high.

stop be selfish..if u dont like it leave ppl who enjoy

Orrrrr people who want to impose their playstyle on an entire squad should go solo.

Not saying OP is correct/right, but telling people to GTFO when someone comes in with large AOE nukes is a bit backwards.

If you're trying to say you want more swords and shields in the game you definitely got my vote.  They can just slap a shield next to every polearm out there and I'd be happy, throw some on those whips too :P

Spear and sword...now THAT I can get behind.

    SPARTANS!

  9. Final Harbinger is easily one of top three stances in the game, but the problem is the amount of weapons to put it on. S/A is too low tier (currently, melee re-balance may change that), Ack/Brunt is pretty good crit-wise but the lack of status hurts scalability, S/A Prime is very, very good but somewhat hard to get, and Sigma/Octanis is IMO the best overall shield/sword, especially when rivens are counted in.

That leaves us with two high-end sword/shield, one of which is currently stuck behind 700 day login reward. Introducing another mid-high tier sword/shield (Corpus themed, anybody?) would bridge that gap nicely. Or, introduce the 50 day counter already.

Final Harbinger should be a gold stance, but I wouldn't object to another stance...IF it was the same quality.

If I were to guess, there's actually only one body model, and this was done in part to make it easier to develop cosmetics.

IIRC, certain face combos/blends will actually change the operator body type to more male/more female. No clue which ones, but some operators are most definitely more feminine/masculine than others. It's not a massive change, but it does change it enough to remove most doubt.

  11. It's a workaround, but enemies will take all damage dealt to them when the link ends, even if the Nidus is very fast about it. Dump a magazine into its head and the Nidus should only be able to keep you all there for one link.

Melee weapons don't need maiming strike to one-shot anything up to and above sortie levels.

Why are we still arguing about an event mod that doesn't even change anything if you're already oneshotting everything? If your answer is "But I need it to oneshot everything!" then you should reconsider your builds. Maiming strike was never needed for Melee to be OP, neither was Blood rush or condition overload, all those did was make it possible to make more melee weapons OP.

At which point do we stop arguing about how much we can overkill enemies?

You want to nerf maiming strike? Start by nerfing melee damage across the board so melee weapons don't massively outdamage guns (without maiming strike, obviously)

I would like to see a whip OHKO sortie enemies with slide attacks without Maiming. Or, even killing in respectable amounts of time.

  13. PDC are a purchase from Baro that are guaranteed to come back (and based on the last time it came, most likely soon). No farming/RNg required except for ducat fodder. Not even considered the best dual sword.

In contrast, Glaive/Ember Prime require obtaining the relics (RNG) getting the multiple required pieces from relics (big RNG).

The trade would be very slanted towards the person offering the PDC.

Fixing the math on Maiming is fine, but to group Maiming and reach as a singular problem is moronic.

It's a combo. Whips without Maiming as is calculated now (and by extension, that mechanic on rivens) would deal wide AOE, but lack the damage numbers they have now. Whips without Primed Reach would be able to deal high damage, but in a smaller AOE, thereby removing/lessening the ability for a single player to clean rooms in a second.

If either was changed, the problem would be much less severe.
