  1. I'm using myself as an example of a major demographic of gamers.  You've delved into personal insults at this point.  Do you have access to surveys indicating the volume of the playerbase that plays socially vs random vs clans vs solo?  I don't.  I'm using my own experience (and that of my friends when they play other games) to come to my current stance.  If you have access to these charts and they support you, I'll concede defeat on this and accept that I'm a minority in this.  Until then, the evidence I've seen is that while many players do play socially, a great many also play non-socially.  Is my sample representative?  Of course I haven't the foggiest and I doubt yours is any better.  But it's the data I've got.

Just because something is rare doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed as well.  As high a priority?  No.  But addressed all the same it should be.  We weren't discussing priorities of changes.  In this thread, I've simply been saying that 1 and 2 need reworks and 4 needs a nerf.  I'm not claiming that it's the most urgent thing the game needs.  I'm just saying that it needs to happen in the future.  Many players like playing support and outside of perma-invincibility, Trinity doesn't really do that much which as we've agreed is a relatively rare thing.  Perhaps there are so few trinities because her 1 and 2 need reworks badly?

I have about as much access to surveys and raw data as you do so throwing in the "prove it" argument is a poor way to not only discredit my argument but yours in the process; given the fact that asking you to also prove your stance with surveys and raw data is a childish way to debate I'm not going to go there but you get the point. I would personally love to see the stats behind this as they would be incredibly interesting not to mention help out with other issues.

My apologies if you took that as an insult, I was just pointing out what happened and as insults go that's fairly tame.

As I previously stated on page 4 "I do however completely agree that her 1st & 2nd abilities need a rework (not a nerf) and her 3rd ability needs to only work for incoming enemy damage, not self inflicted damage or damage taken whilst invincible but again as I said its not a game breaking issue so it'll get fixed soon™" I've never said that they don't need to be fixed just that they will be fixed "soon™" so thanks for reiterating my point. Everyone loves a one trick pony until they get boring so yeah I agree that changing it up would definitely increase the amount of Trinity players although nova still hasn't been hit with the nerf bat yet :P

My opinion regarding her ult has changed through, even if her three other abilities get changed there is still far too much benefit gained from the invincibility and it does need to be chopped down a bit.

  2. Except I'm in college so saying that I have any sort of regular schedule for gaming would be a hilarious joke.

And is it that much of a stretch for someone to request that pubs be at least semi-decent?

Also, I never mentioned the frequency I saw Trinities, only the frequency with which they seemed able to give perma-invincibility.  I don't see Trinities that often either.

Did you notice how I used the word "usually"? In hindsight I suppose I could have used "generally" or the phrase "more often than not" but I figured people here have a good command of the English Language so they "should" be able to figure it out, clearly I was wrong as you are the exception to the rule on both counts.

With the way the online community acts in general it's a bit of a stretch to say that you won't cross paths with people that either don't know what they are doing or act like asshats. When you find these select few you add them as friends and keep on paying games with them if your so called irregular schedule allows for it.

No but I was so my statement is still correct. By your admission you don't see them very often, why then are you are continuing with this argument when they are few and far between and as I've stated before aren't a game breaking issue.

  3. Unfortunately, all people I know that have tried the game quit and my clan isn't exactly close-knit.

You can't expect everyone to be able to regulate who they play with unfortunately.

As far as rarity goes, I'm Mastery 14.  I think about half the Trinities I come across are capable of infinite invincibility at that level.

Um... sorry that your friends didn't last and that your clan isn't "close-knit"?

Actually yes I can, people are usually online at the same time every day (or every other day) given their time zone so there are plenty of people you can play with, you just have to find them which isn't hard; unless you're picky as all hell. Is it really that hard to find like minded people that play at the same time as you, sure I get that people don't last but there are always more where they came from.

I come across a Trinity maybe once every two weeks and whilst you mentioned you were rank 14 I'm rank 15 so there isn't that much of a difference in our play time, I'll just put the difference down to luck and leave it at that.

  4. To be fair, she does remove all sense of difficulty from the game...  For the record, I think she just needs a rework as her 1 is redundant, her 2 is anti-meta, and her 4 removes difficulty.  She doesn't need to be nerfed into the ground.  But the invincibility on Blessing needs to go down while her 1 and 2 get love.

Most people actually enjoy participating in the team...  It's generally more fun if you actually get to do something and if there's some semblance of difficulty.  Being invincible constantly has a tendency to make the game get boring fast.  Cheat codes are fun for a while, but they burn you out quickly.

She only removes all sense of difficulty from the game if the person playing her knows how to play and has the correct build to back it up which in my opinion isn't very often considering how often i slum it and do pubs :P I do however completely agree that her 1st & 2nd abilities need a rework (not a nerf) and her 3rd ability needs to only work for incoming enemy damage, not self inflicted damage or damage taken whilst invincible but again as I said its not a game breaking issue so it'll get fixed soon™

As plenty of people have said if you like playing with a team go and play with mates whether they be from your clan or irl but expecting everyone to play as a team is naive. We're not advocating that being power levelled and having to do very little is fun; but it can be avoided if you so choose by either playing with a full party of people you know or by setting your game to private.

  5. The Tenno who cried Nerf!

There once was a Tenno who was bored as he sat in the Survival Mission watching the Trinity kill stuff. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Nerf! Nerf!! The Trinity is killing everything!"

The Devs came running to the Forum to help the Tenno fix the issue. But when they arrived at the Forum, they found no nerf was needed. The Tenno laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'Nerf', Tenno," said the Devs, "when there's no nerf needed" They went grumbling back to their jobs.

Later, the Tenno sang out again, "Nerf! Nerf! The Trinity is killing everything!" To his naughty delight, he watched the Devs run to the Forum to help him with his issue.

When the Devs saw no nerf was needed they sternly said, "Save your QQing for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'Nerf' when there is no nerf needed!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling back to their jobs once more.

Later, he saw something that actually needed a nerf. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Nerf! Nerf!"

But the Devs thought he was just QQing again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the Tenno hadn't returned to the Dojo with a decent kill count. They went to the forum to find the Tenno and found him weeping.

"There really was something requiring a Nerf here! My kills are pathetic! I cried out, "Nerf!" Why didn't the Devs do anything?"

An guy wearing pink shorts and an inflatable parrot on his shoulder tried to comfort the Tenno as they walked back to the Dojo.

"We'll help you fix what needs Nerfing soon™," he said, putting his arm around the Tenno, "Nobody believes a serial QQer...even when its an actual issue!"

The moral of the story is save your QQing for when it's an actual game breaking issue instead of crying Nerf over every trivial issue.

  6. Apparently Eurasia and Lua are some kind of "Road Block" for newbies to get to other exo-planets of the system. So i decided to see it for myself. I created a Derp Account and re-played the game.

Is the "Newbie" experience really that hard? Of course i am not a Newbie, i have knowledge and experience, which new players will lack, that make a huge difference, i get that. I just want to test if the missions Newbies play are really unbalanced.

It turns out that the new game experience is not that terrifying, and Eurasia is not that impossible Road Block some Newbies believe.

As you can see, this Derp Account is Mastery Rank 0, which means i cannot trade. In one day, i got a Braton and Aklato. Serration and Hornet Strike, Blueprints for the Latron and Dual Ether. A couple Void keys. All this in only 5 hours of play time. I did join a few OD and Void missions from recruiting channel to get credits, mods and fusion cores. I did not include these missions on the video. Have in mind that i did this as a means to an end: Get to Eurasia and beat it with Newbie gear, with a Newbie team. I never said i was not allowed to join some random missions on recruiting chat. The point of the experiment is not to beat the game Solo. The point of the experiment is to check if the difficulty of those missions are too high for a player with Newbie gear. I want to represent the average Newbie, you know that regular guy with a reasonable learning curve, not a complete n00b that don't even know how to use the Recruiting Chat. The Derp Loki Newbie in this experiment is allowed to join OD and Void missions.

My conclusion to this experiment: The Newbie game play experience its not that Seven-Headed-Dragon some players believe. Actually i had A BLAST playing as a Newbie Loki!! I enjoyed each mission, the solo ones, and the online ones. About the Interception Mission, its challenging and i like it. Yeah newbies are going to die there, but that's part of the learning curve. It was really fun to remember what is like to be a Newbie. Most fun i had in a long time, since Tethra's Doom Interception with the crazy spawn rates.

Okay so your initial point was to see whether there was some sort of roadblock for newbies when they reached Eurasia/Lua. Cool I get it, no problems.

Then you decided to let us know you aren't a newbie and change your focus to finding whether missions newbies play are unbalanced... Hold up was that the original plan? Okay you've set a new goal, I can live with that.

Then you make a blanket statement about how in your opinion the new game experience is not that terrifying and that Eurasia isn't a road block for some newbies... So now you're going back to your original goal/point/focus and discard the 2nd not to mention stating that it's only "some newbies" meaning not all of them that have issues; furthermore you completely ignore the fact that newbies are only beginning to play the game when in your previous statement you clarified this... Starting to lose track of what you're actually trying to say.

Queue video: yay visual teaching aid *happy dance*

Now you go into the fact that its a level 0 account which you've just created, you let us know what you've picked up and used for the 5 hour duration (serration/hornet strike which I might add hates being dished out by the RNG gods, you lucky bastard!), also that you did some ODD and Void missions to get you cores/credits and proved it with the above video... Except for ODD/Void which I have no idea why you didn't include them but whatever.

You then change your point once again to only focus on a player with newbie gear instead of an actual newbie that has no idea about the game (which as you previously stated isn't you) and you put forward your idea of portraying an "average newbie". Um... you can quantify an average newbie... dafuq?

You then conclude your "experiment" with some nostalgia about how cool it was and how challenging Interception is with a low level team/frame/weapons not to mention stating its just not as hard as some players believe...

What exactly are we supposed to take from this thread? Are we supposed to agree that newbies don't have a hard time with Eurasia/Lua because someone, pretending to be a newbie caught a lucky break by getting serration and hornet strike within 5 hours who also happened to do some ODD/Void to get enough credits/cores to fuse them to a decent level to get past Eurasia/Lua? Sure lets just ignore all the newbies that complain about it because Captain Fantastic and his band of merry Tenno can do it, so why the hell can't they... Yeah I went there :P

I understand that you flat out stated you have an advantage over a newbie, however being a newbie and pretending to be a newbie aren't the same thing by any stretch of the imagination and as such there can be no comparison between the two. This includes things like knowing which mods to use, where to get them, which ones take precedence for fusing (serration/hornet strike), where to take cover, where enemies spawn, how to use your abilities effectively etc.

  7. I don't use pure punch through mods on anything because its a total waste of a slot and using 15 points is a joke for the little benefit it provides you.

You'd be better off using the slot and points for a maxed elemental mod or the 2 nightmare mods which give actually provide you with a decent dps increase.

  8. Can we please get some clarification regarding the Helios' Deconstructor and what mods should increase its damage because currently it doesn't gain a base damage increase from anything except Heavy Trauma nor do a lot of the Glaive specific melee mods effect it.

  9. I think we will have to wait a little longer, iirc they said valkyr would stay this way even in melee 2.0.

So we have to hope once the new melee system is out and everything runs smooth they take a look into a rework of her mechanics.

When melee 2.0 comes out according to DE it will be comparable to shooting or at least more viable, so the buffs you get from Warcry & Paralysis (50% melee speed & 4x damage) will add more of a benefit than they currently do there by making it more useful and more viable for people to play her.

I can only guess you thought I was saying that her ult would be changing when melee 2.0 rolls around which clearly as DE have stated and you so diligently repeated isn't the case.

Side question, since Frost has been changed again has anyone tried using Warcry in conjunction with Snow Globe?

  10. Valkyr doesn't suck she just fills a niche role, mostly the ability to pick up teammates without taking damage in high tier runs by using her ult. The range on Warcry and Paralysis leaves something to be desired but are (currently) only useful when in the middle of a mountain of enemies or for the few times when you need that extra armor, weapon speed boost, damage boost or stun; Ripline is just plain old fun to zoom about the place albeit fairly useless at disposing of anything and is generally only used to troll by people those that are the definition of why we can't have nice things :P

Comparing her tanking ability to other frames is like comparing chalk and cheese, both have their pros and cons so neither one is ultimately better as they all have their uses it comes down to the person playing the frame.

When Melee 2.0 gets released you should see her being played a lot more because of the utility she offers for melee instead of being the token reviver on high end runs.

  11. Generally speaking:

Boltor Prime, Burston Prime, Ogris, Penta, Ignis, Tigris, Boar Prime, Drakgoon & Soma are the high dps primary weapons.
AkBronco Prime, Akstiletto, Akmagnus, Despair & Dual Cestra are the high dps secondary weapons.
Galatine, Dakra Prime & Dual Ichor for the melee weapons.
I'm sure there are more than I listed

Frames... Nova pretty much cops the most QQ about being overpowered (since her release) Realistically though everything is good if you build it correctly.

Go to http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/WARFRAME_Wiki if you need the locations for drops :)

Do all the planets and level everything to up your mastery rank but beyond rank 8 the only benefit you gain is the ability to put down another extractor at rank 10.

  12. In the future we have complex nano machines that rewrite our DNA changing our gender and physical attributes to we can harness the power of the different Frames which are based upon the original design created by the Orokin. Essentially we remain the same person although a different and ever changing version depending on the needs for the mission. Good enough for you?

  13. When will the values for dual stat mods be normalized so they give a fixed percentage of their single stat counterparts? There is quite a big difference between them currently and i could really like some clarity considering this will be the 3rd or 4th time I've essentially asked the same question.

  14. Some very nice additions and fixes to the game, good job guys :)

    My only issues are:
Oberon's new helmet looks like he wants to give everyone some tongue... very creepy :P
The cables on Valkyr's new helmet have some weird physics, the cables bounce/flail around like crazy in the wrong place.
Tethra's Doom event is far to easy (albeit less time consuming) compared to previous events that offered similar rewards, I understand that its hard to find a balance but making it that easy is a little disheartening when you finish the mission for the 1st time, have a score of 800+ and have a "That was it?" look smeared across your face whilst wondering what to do next...

  15. because it doesnt let you get through the entire course in time. i know i have problems with the vertical platform jump and would like to move onto the rest of the course so i can get a feel for it otherwise im just gonna remove it from the dojo and use the forma somewhere else.

Didn't realize you only had a certain amount of time to stay in there, how long is it because I've never spent a great amount of time in the damn thing.

I cant figure out which part you're having issues with, is it the moving pillars part or the wall running section? Either way check the multitude of videos out there so you can get a feel for it; or as you said if you still cant do it deconstruct it and make better use of the forma.
