Are you playing on PC direct to Warframe, or via Steam, Unisoft etc...? Platforms have different joystick emulators. A more complicated but far more effective emulator is DS4 Windows, with Hidhide as well. I use it for my DS5 on Steam, Ubisoft and Warframe direct. Read up on those if you cant find a solution. /Mentat

Titania, Wisp, Hildryn are all great frames that are fun, powerful, with great all round kits that dont need subsumed abilities through to steelpath solo. Titania is the easiest earliest to get, and super useful for nearly any game mission. As mentioned above, her pistols are amazing, and even for high steel path still decent. Don't sleep on this frame.... All frames are easy to get, just a question of how grindy the parts acquisition is. Keep an eye on the weekly Duviri as well for the circuit frame of the week. /Mentat

I hear ya. Most of the weapons suggested here work into steel path just fine, but they will never be powerful when compared to dozens of primaries. What would fun to you with auto pistols? I think you need to define your emotional need that isn't being satisfied. Are you looking for something with flair, cool sound and maybe something signature about the feeling? Akjagara Prime can be deadly little slash monsters with a tight pistol crack sound. But they are not auto. The smart ass in me wants to suggest the dex pixia prime... I really wanted to like the T. Diplos too, but that alt fire is quite bothersome, too bad it didn't function seamlessly like the Kuva Quartakk. I think the Aksomati Pr that others have suggested is worth a look, they are decent enough iirc. Good luck and I hope you settle into something! /Mentat

Secondaries that give satisfaction - it's difficult to recommend because they are all much less forgiving than primaries. Over the last couple years I have settled into Kuva T Stubbas as the most reliable. You must mod to each faction, mod to reduce recoil, be a headshot hog, and have a decent Riven. Same logic for Ten. Cycron, Prisma Gremlins, Ten. Plinx, and some others. Also your specific usage needs to have a narrow focus within your whole build. Yes you can main a secondary all the way through SP, but enjoyment will drop unless you are ok with being much more strategic in your engagements. Some people say secondaries are only good for priming enemies but that is simplistic. They are situational. Big maps are better for stubbas and plinx, cycron and gremlins love packs of enemies. So to your point above to use it as main damage, find some fun synergies with unairu armor shield strip, the vacuum arcane from little duck, and cycron. Or be cooler than the Loki mains of 2016 and run pillage gyre and plinx. Laugh maniacally as you orange crit headshots and profit. Secondaries aren't mains for everyone, they are mains for mad scientists... 😆
