  1. i agree that she needs the synergy of her 4 with her 3 and 1 ability. rn its kinda weird how the 4 on paper sounds like her kit synergizes really well with each other, but then you realize that 4 synergizes with 2 and 1 synergizes with 3 but 1 also synergizes with 4 but 4 doesnt synergize with 1. i think her synergy would be really strong so i believe they had the synergy at some point and broke it up cause you could near constantly stay in stealth with a crazy crit dmg multiplier etc but just breaking the synergy isnt a solution either.
  2. I dont see how with adaptation, rolling guard, arcane blessing, vitality or umbral vitality and augur mods as well as survivability oriented focus schools and defensive archon shards (the blue ones) you couldnt make any warframe tanky. you could even go so far as to use operator arcanes that provide healing. and then there is a reason why wisp is such a valued warframe in sp and other high level missions. if thats not enough survivability for you, you could add a DR ability like nullstar (although not that great if you build gyre for range) or eclipse which would allow you to alternate between more damage and more survivability. or you could add a cc heavy ability like resonator. or gloom. if you want to solo sp+ with a glass canon frame you better be hella good at the game cause every enemy that you dont onetap before they can reach you, you ll need to deal with the dmg they do. if you build your gyre with too little survivability and just dmg and range, thats on you. other frames would have the same issue: you couldnt even rely on garas 90 % dr (!) and build her for max range and dmg with no other aspects of survivability - one mistake and you ll be dust. solo sp+ builds differ a lot from coop oriented builds, which i believe to be a good thing. in my opinion, a great build setup is a setup that divides different aspects to different loadout parts. consider these khora builds for instance. your basic stat stick khora: warframe is build for range with the augments to make her work; focus school = naramon for maintaining combo; stat stick is, well, the stat stick; helminth = garas ability for energy maintenance; primary is miter to deal with nullifiers; secondary can be a primer or whatever this build works so damn well because every aspect is covered by a different loadout slot. compare it to a khora build where you mod for combo duration as well as efficiency and play on zenurik with a laetum and a felarx + the stat stick. thats also how certain builds with tanky frames work so well. they remove the need for the player to worry about survivability since that aspect is covered by the warframe. meanwhile their ability damage is really terrible but with the right weapons that doesnt matter either. similarly, a dps mirage doesnt gain the dps from her 2 augment, its a combination of high damage weapons with high damage multiplier abilities and the mods to boost this dmg. consequently those dps mirage builds should use a focus school for survivability and a helminth for cc or survivability since they already cover more than enough dmg. this applies to your gyre build as well. the frame (like many others) is balanced to be heavily focused towards damage and some cc with little focus to survivability. Adding survivability to the kit should cause DE to reduce the potency of the other 2 categories as you cant have glass canon damage as a sort of steel canon XD in other words, she d become an overall average warframe. instead, if you dont want to spare the mod slots for defensive stats, you should look at other ways for survivability, like focus schools, helminth, arcane blessing or adding flat armor with blue archon shards for instance.
  3. I mean, there are other warframes that kill everything with the press of one button, but aoe so you actually dont need to turn your camera or press your lmb. and they can move normally and not at a snails pace while doing so. the fastest mesa wont outspeed a titania or even a volt in a capture missions. what even does a mesa for you in a survival run? i dont see a mesa being that great in disruption but i may be wrong, after all you could helminth ensnare onto her and make her useful there (like you could with any other warframe), other than killing enemies she doesnt provide protection for any of the defensive modes and newer enemies have reduced dmg from exalted weapons which affects her as well. you cant shoot the deimos boss either with mesa. i dont see mesa being great in spy missions either. and if you are getting bored of using mesa, just use another frame. its as simple as that. and dont be sad about other people playing the game much easier than what you are doing - you can literally be playing the same frame if you wanted. its good for the game to provide a range of frames from high intensity to low effort and let me tell you high intensity will always pay off in dmg contributed if you are concerened with your %. there s no way a mesa can compete with a dps build using both weapon builds and warframe abilities in synergy. I rarely see mesas. And sometimes when i play mesa, maybe i dont feel like pressing 1 for an hour with khora because OMG thats such engaging, challenging and interesting gameplay ... or press 4 with equinox. or press 4 with valkyr and then spam e for the rest of the mission. or press 4 with a speedva, or hold 1 once with a lazy wisp. 3 with nekros. suddenly mesa becomes much more engaging if you ask me XD what i m saying is, if you dismantle everything you can break down everything. there is a reason why meta doesnt mean "most exciting tactics available" and why non meta approaches are usually connected to more fun ^^ the choice of how you feel about how you want to play on a particular day is up to you.
  4. Of course a switchable function would be a nice solution as well which i fully support. simply turning it off would have the downside of the visual feedback missing as to the ability being active or not (very relevant for stealth visual effects, for mirage it would mean once your frame looks beautiful again the ability has run out XD) If you refer to my final note, I meant that playing around with energy color as well as with the visual effects slider under the "accessibility" tab in the settings may help you temporarily fix your particular issue. some abilities are famous for the effects energy color has, most notably nekros 4: if you dont want to confuse your squad members, you have a really bright energy color, if you want to confuse them, you have a dark one. Here the dark one makes the visual effect on the summoned enemy friends nearly invisible, while with a bright energy color, the summoned enemy friends are clearly distinguishable from regular enemies. Similarly, you could try setting the energy color for your frame to a very dark one and see if it turns the eclipse effect nearly invisible. - Obviously this is a temporary fix and no solution and only works with some visual issues caused by abilities. But I hope it may help you enjoy the customizations of that warframe of yours ^^
  5. Hey, I fully support this since recently I spend some bucks on an ivara skin, spend about half an hour to an hour customizing the colors and looks of it (i got carried away), I was really happy with it (one of my favorite recolors i think) then reality hit like a truck when i went into a mission and realized that the only time i ll see the skin will be when i watch the extraction cutscene ... (which could be seen as a motivating factor to not linger in a mission for too long lol) I suggested some solutions to this in a recent post, some ideas referenced from other tenno, two ideas by myself. Some are obviously more difficult to implement, some shouldn't really cause any issue and its questionable why its not there yet XD of course, while looking at previous feedback, some people prefer to have things the way they are right now so in an update to this feature, there would need to be a way to retain the current visuals. If you have any further ideas on how to implement this, feel free to add them, either here or on my previous post; I would include them to create a comprehensive post of the issue ^^ On a sidenote, you could try to "fix" the mirage eclipse issue by checking if adjusting the ability effects visibility slider under the "accessibility" tab helps. Also try out to change the energy color to black, in some cases that makes the visual effects barely noticeable. Sadly no effect on invisibility atm. Obviously this is not a real fix to the issue at hand, since you may enjoy the other visual effects with a slider set to 100 %
  6. Dear DE, dear fellow Tenno, thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. Even though it has been mentioned and been discussed several times already, I would like to again point to the issue of stealth-based warframes kind of defeating the point of buying cosmetics and customizing appearences. Here is a mixture of ideas and suggestions for a solution. brightness of energy color affect transparency of invisibility (0 % brightness/black = opaque, 100 % brightness/white = transparent) a set of different "invisibility skins"1 add one or multiple stealth-frame ephemera, that do not show an effect while not in stealth but when stealth is active, they disable the invisibility visual effect and instead show the ephemera effect a change so that the warframe stays opaque but has a sort of smoky aura effect around itself while stealth is active2 an added custumization UI3 I tried my best to sort these different approaches based on complexity of implementation. Edit: I'd like to add to this the broader issue of abilities messing with customizations of warframes. Some of before mentioned solutions could be applied to a wider range of abilities, while some are only concerned with dealing with the issue of invisibility. I think my idea of brightness of energy color would be an ideal solution to the problem at large, since some aspects in the game are already heavily affected by energy color (for example some of Ivaras skirts or Garas glass attachments can be turned nearly invisible by changing the color to black). We can see this having an impact on certain abilities already, like Nekros 4: with a bright energy color, the "friends" are clearly distinguishable from normal enemies, whereas with a black energy color it is really difficult to differentiate between "friends" and enemies. The next best solution to include other abilities just as well as stealth based invisibility issues would be the implementation of a customization UI (not only for invisibility but also for other ability appearence). Sadly the other solutions proposed are pretty much only applicable to stealth based issues, and an expansion to cover all kinds of abilities would be an extreme step. Still I believe, that the implementation of stealth-frame ephemera for instance would be a cool option to make your stealth look even better :) Sources/Credit 1Suggested by u/RandomPaladinsNub is in my opinion the solution that poses the least amount of workload for implementation, while creating another layer of marketable cosmetics. Mechanics like skins are already in the game and by offering "fixed" types of invisibility DE could retain a level of control which may cause bugs if it was left to full individual customization. 2Suggested by Wolvenhiem is my favorite attempt at a solution. It would end up solving the issue in a cool way that redefines stealth and invisibility effects. However, designing the visual effects for the smoky auras would mean a decent workload, it would be less marketable* and it would collide with people enjoying the full invisibility effects (requiring a sort of toggle option). 3Suggested by u/3mptylord is a very straightforward solution, giving players all sorts of customization features. While it would be nice to have such a level of control over it, that could also bring along possible bugs and issues. It may also be the most complicated solution of all of them. *Note: Even though I mentioned less marketablility, that just means whether or not the specific effect could be easily marketed. Of course, giving players the option to see and enjoy a skin they could buy would make said skins much more marketable, regardless of whether the visual effect of invisibility can or cannot be sold.
