  1. NO. really this would kill trade

In all honestly I think most people want an ah because it would be a much better interface than pure chatting for what you want and having to fish through a sea a spam to find stuff.

In light of making this thread I think it's important to note that at the end of the day it's something I understand but its still wild. I guess I'm more upset at the people willing to spend that much on it than those who sell. The are the prices because someone wanted to buy for that much.

  2. Well, realisitically the best thing to do would be to remove coptering but make everyone faster in general to make up for the decrease in speed. Also make flip-ups, rolls, backflips and wall-hops based off of speed rather than a fixed speed dependant on frame.

    Which they're doing so...yeah.

Right, it's something that has to be looked at. Also, coptering is the spin attack in the air to catapult you across the room depending on your attack speed w/ certain weapons.

I dont think they'll be removing jump attacks which they worked so hard to implement. In my opinion it's better to jump attack than copter.. feels more fluid.

  3. To be fair, running the same tile set for a millionth time, it simply becomes "ugh, gotta finish this faster so I can hopefully get X or Y"

Are you asking what it is and what the issues are?

Coptering means stacking attack speed and doing slide attacks in mid air. The game calculates momentum and speed funny so the high attack speed can make the physics go nuts and send you flying, sometimes to the point that you can actually get stuck with so much momentum pushing you against a wall that it takes a few seconds before you can move away from the wall.

The "issue" is that DE Steve doesn't like it. A more amicable way to put it would be that it does not meet their quality standards. They want movement to be consistent and predictable, so that it can be considered skillful and be rolled into the rest of the game as something you can master, rather than giving wonky inconsistent results and being wildly different from weapon to weapon, build to build.

this is what im trying to pinpoint in my OP.

the first part of the second person's post I quoted is what I think is misconstrued. To be put simply.. 'coptering' in the state its in now is a glitch. Spin attack does and should allow some movement, but stacking attack speed to get unrealistic movement speeds is something that should be looked at.

  4. I don't see an issue with it really.

There is a huge issue with a selection of weaponry only being used for things the category of weaponry shouldn't be used for.

Weapons shouldn't be selected for mobility and maneuvering through stages, but the system of mobility should be overhauled and thats what this whole parkour 2.0 is about. So that people can move better and effectively as intended without relying on something completely unrelated to do that.

  5. I would actually prefer augments to change the way ability works as well, but in the current state of augments it's not really worth it, because I have to waste 1 slot just to change my ability. And it's not even getting better, it just changes to something else, and then I need to make a decent build around it using one less mod slot. I think those augment mods that change the way ability works, should be something else than just a mod. Maybe if we had multiple versions of the ability and augments would just add some additional effects to those abilities (like most of current augments are)

But isn't that something we do already with our current Warframe builds? (certain ones). At least with mods changing the way an ability works we have multiple ways to build a warframe for a specific skill.

  6. I think quite a few augments should get a rework. Some of them should be implemented into the original power, like Mirage's Sleight of Hand augment. Seriously who wanted to just blow up their ammo pickups randomly in the first place? Turning them into mines seems like a more viable choice, even though it's still not that great.

There's also a rare case of some augments basically rework the way ability works, removing some of it's original benefits or adding some huge disadvantages. I don't think such augments should take a slot. A perfect example of such augment is Funnel Clouds (Tornado augment for Zephyr) which completely removes the CC effect of Tornado and replaces it with potential of more damage (even though it pretty much fail at that since tornadoes usually go around enemies missing them a lot) The example of a huge downside to an augment is Nekros' Soul Survivor, you revive and ally but lose ALL your energy. I don't think anyone would want to waste a slot to get an ability with such a huge disavantage.

A lot of augments just not worth the slot in the first place even though the idea is not that bad.

See in my personal opinion, ability mods--every single one of them-- should change the way the skill it's augmenting is used, completely. Now while people don't like it "band-aid" mods aren't necessarily a bad thing, as it still falls under the category of augmentation.

When the skill is altered completely it justifies changing an entire build to fit the need of that skill.

Quick examples.. imagine if Volt's speed mod increased damage substantially with the more speed you had instead of relying on power strength for damage?

Or Mirage's 2nd ability augment that increased range if you used theif's wit to give vision to loot on the map instead of relying on range mods.

This way these mods can have the spotlight to shine in what they have to offer and TRULY present he ability for very unique builds.

On another note, at this point in time some of these augments should be named upgrades rather than augments.

  7. Good Morning guys! (well for me anyway).

I want to pick your brains a little bit...

On the topic of experiencing augments and even just regular mods and how they exist in this meta of Warframe.. do you believe augments can and should be revisited and rereleased? Or do you feel like they should be completely removed and new ones should take their place?

Experiencing and seeing the reaction to Saryn's recent augment "Contagion Cloud" is the reason for my curiosity. First thought for me was that it may have been a really cool augment, because it's a pretty cool idea, but its execution was poor and it's effectiveness is minimal to say the least.

    What do you guys think?
