  1. I'll just comment on the slots bp:

Everything in this game is attainable by playing except for exclusive items. I obtained all frames by boss, alert, or def mission. Weapons I crafted by BP.

I purchased Forma and Potatoes but didn't "need" to.

What I'm trying to say is the developers need to get paid. I know plat prices super suck.... but there needs to be at least 1 thing we can't obtain via play. The slots are that 1 thing. They already give us free plat when we start. Use that for slots but otherwise we need to spend the money to keep playing. Every game out there costs money and they put a lot of time and effort into this game. (as much as I criticize them I recognize this)

  2. 5) Armor (Scalability and Difficulty)

Several great posts have emerged that tackle “Armor” and its effectiveness at high levels and how this affects players options when facing high level enemies. This conversation boils down to what kind of changes will Armor undergo, if any? The answer is that Armor is currently working as intended and is unlikely to change.

  3. I get where people are coming from because of the cool factor but I'm not hot on the idea of dual vastos. Oh, I'd totally get it, but.... something about dual revolvers doesn't seem right.

    Sorry :\

  4. Would be cool, but just a question in terms of logic why a revolvers like the Vasto given faster reload speeds? If anything it should be slower but more powerful. Their is a reason most combat groups don't use revolvers.

I own a revolver. With practice you could load it just as fast as my daily carry gun. I don't carry my revolver because it's too big to hide but I would depend my life on that gun.

From a LEO standpoint (not me, but friends of mine) the reason most (not all) LEO don't carry revolvers is because the power is too great. It's easy to penetrate their subject and for the bullet to keep going to hit an innocent. That was the issue with the 10mm and why the .40 was developed for the FBI. A .357 would penetrate the vehicle, penetrate the subject and keep going (given not in a straight line). That's why we use .357 and .44 for bear and other animals to penetrate the thick tissue. Except for the Desert Eagle and some other specialty guns, revolver rounds are simply too hot to be used in the "weak" semi-auto format. They could blow the gun apart.

From a Military standpoint (again, not me but friends of mine actively serving), the reason 90% of the military use the standard issue Barretta's and other 9mm's have to do with NATO restrictions, conformity (part swapping), government contracts with manufacturers, and need to be idiot proof. According to international arms agreements, all bullets used in conflict need to be FMJ. Meaning it will pass through tissue and cause minimal damage to the individual. So they will be taken out of the fight and live to go home. Idiot proof has to do with "no special training needed". To quickly unload and load a revolver in battle takes practice. Lots of it. Most of our military men and women don't have the patience or motor skills to apply themselves when the option to "slip" in a magazine is available. An AR style rifle is not as durable as a M-14 style rifle but the act of loading the magazine (slip in vs guide on), could cause a soldier to fumble in battle because he's so used to slipping in a pistol magazine.

Whereas most LEO I know actually prefer to use an "M" style rifle because of durability. Most LEO I know also use hollow points where military are not allowed. Most LEO I know also have the option of a revolver and the choice to use it is personal preference.

I hope I explained this correctly.

TL:DR Revolvers are not inadequate to semi-auto, just different and more specialized. Speed loading a revolver takes special skill and can be done just as fast as most people will load a standard pistol. Military units look for the easiest, stupidest weapon for their units because they're training en masse, not specialty.

  5. OP wants weapon which can oneshot anything, is pinpoint accurate, ammo efficient, got decent rof and low recoil.

And "dumping 45 rounds into a standard grineer units face at point blank with a fully upgraded/modded weapon is BS." doesnt happen unless you try yourself against impossible content (high endless defense waves)

Why are you putting words into my mouth? I don't want a one shot but it's insane when MY unforma'd Kunai will in fact kill an ancient in 4 shots and my double forma'd braton unloads almost two clips to kill one ancient. This with mods. That's stupid and it's no where near balance.

Heavily upgrading the conventional firearms doesn't fix the problem.

So you've upgraded it to the point where it competes with the non-forma'd AI weapons?  Opps, looks like the AI weapons are still vastly outperforming the conventional firearms when they get forma'd themselves.

Every upgrade you apply to the regular firearm in an attempt to compete on the same level as AI weapons can be applied to the AI weapon and always push the finish line further out of reach.

Exactly. If I forma my Braton 5 times to get it equal with my single forma'd Boltor why don't I just forma my Boltor 5 times instead and get higher damage rather than wasting my time and resources?

There is no balance. Headshots. No headshots. Damage mods, Forma. Etc. If I do the same thing to both weapons they will NEVER come out equivalent.

Edit: To Cary2010haha: You're using a Braton Prime. Obviously it will/should do more damage. It's a prime weapon. We're talking standard here. You have Boltor which is a "12 hours later" weapon and Braton which is a "12 hours later weapon" (to compare apples to apples). They should both have similar dps/performance at high levels (not mid-levels), but the Boltor tremendously outperforms. So the question begs, "Why shouldn't I throw darts instead of bullets?" "Because I like bullets?" "Well then you'll always suck with bullets because everything the bullet gun can do at high levels the AP gun could do better."

    I hope this makes sense.

  6. Armor ignore fast firing weapons = generally terrible accuracy + slow travel time + lower rof than their bullet counterparts

Dmg per bullet AI dps similiar

I honestly don't see that "terrible accuracy" others have mentioned as well. Zak hit the nail a few posts back.

  7. minigun

but. i want full auto AR with decent damage output. Braton is decent up to level 100, Burston even higher level wise, but not so much and also it's burst fire weapon.

A Minigun would be good, but isn't that the Gorgon? But I'll +1 your comment for decent damage output. Even today we have "armor piercing" bullets (not suggesting another ap weapon) and Boat-tail hollow points for greater accuracy and internal damage.

Maybe a weapon which will actually do "internal damage" similar to a hollow point giving "bleeding damage" similar to the Acrid's poison damage? But as a rifle instead?

Maybe have stacking with base damage similar to the Braton or MK-1 Braton but with stacking bleed damage similar to Acrid in a full auto rifle version.

We've already got all of their weapons either in the market or in the clan, except for the Eviscerator's gun and the sawmen's saws (which were removed when cleavers were added anyway). Most Grineer bullet weapons are ammo inefficient and low-powered (but with a high crit chance) anyway, so they're not popular with most players.

The Eviscerators gun would be a good one to have as well.

  8. Despair is overpowered and is probably set to be nerfed. Also, the auto-fire of Despair is just until the glitch is fixed, then it will be changed back to what it should be.... semi-auto.

Acrid is powerful, but it's a clan weapon so it'll probably stay the same. The semi-auto on it works very well.

    Acrid for permanence.

Edit: Actually, Despair probably won't be nerfed, but auto will be switched to semi-auto again. (like it used to be). Probably won't be nerfed because it's a stalker weapon and shouldn't be.

  9. I agree with OP, the rifles aren't as viable as some of the other weapons in the game right now. Also most of the newer and more powerful weapons are not bullet based. I feel that bullet weapons are being overlooked for energy/throwing ones.

Alternatively you can just bring a Volt and watch everything die.

But then again, they just released the Vasto. A bullet based weapon. You would think they would have compensated somehow right?

  10. Then ask for that specifically. The way you worded it made it sound like "all bullet guns should be better than things that aren't bullets! Weapons that don't use bullets suck because they don't use bullets so bullets should be better! CoD for life!"

NOTE: I admit it sounds like that to us due to several arguments to that effect in the past.

What you should have said is "Armour scales too fast for bullet elemetal damage to remain competitive with other types, like serrated blade, armour peircing, impact and forcefield. I prefer the aesthetics and feel of a traditional firearm and it's disappointing how few are useful against high level enemies. DE needs to rethink how armour works at high levels."

Hard to argue with it when it's phrased properly.

Your are correct. I don't want bullets to be more powerful, I just want want balance. Yesterday I was irritated after playing with the Vasto. I'll probably be irritated again if I play with the Vasto today.

What you said though is exactly what I mean:

Armor scales too fast for bullet element damage to remain competitive. I prefer the aesthetics and feel of a traditional firearm and it's disappointing how few are useful at higher levels.

Again, (I won't repeat myself about this....) I'm not trying to reskin the game to Call of Duty. It's annoying that some people are blowing this arguement off as that. Why would the developers even put "traditional" type firearms in the game if they did not intend for them to be used? They just released the Vasto. It's a brand new bullet gun. The Grakata is not that old. Why would they release a gun they just wanted to be a complete fail?

Obviously it was DE's intent for us to use bullet guns, otherwise the MK-1 Braton, Braton, Braton Vandel, and Braton Prime wouldn't be around. Same on Latron, Latron Prime, Grakata, Gorgon, Burston, Lato and AKLato, Viper, Twin Viper, Furis, AFuris, Lex, Vasto.

I prefer the feel of an AKLato or Vasto/Lex as a sidearm and Braton/Latron/Snipetron as a primary. Those are my 'favorite' guns and to say I only want to use them because I want to play Call of Duty is simply not true.

  11. I honsetly read this post and think you're just crap at the game. I use a latron, and can take out level 60s in 2 shots. I also use Twin Vipers and take out heavy grineer at level 50 with one clip. You must only be looking at the base strength of the gun, because used correctly, ALL the guns are powerful.

Add mods like Serration and Hornet strike, coupled with element mods, fire rate, mag size and reload speed and you have a recipie for death.

ONTOP OF THIS, This is a SPACE NINJA GAME. How are bows inadequet? They suit the lore perfectly fine, and they work brilliantly! You're just crap at aiming if you can't hit with them

I typically have 60%+ of the damage in a random run and 40% damage in a clan run. I don't suck at the game. The same mods you could put into a weaker "bullet hose" you could put into a more powerful weapon. Why would I use the weapon I actually like to use when I know I could do more damage with something else.

What's more, when I do try to equip a weapon I like, I'm outgunned by somebody who is using what I would have been using.

Bows are awesome. A bow vs Bolto? Sucks.

To Zhoyzu, the post doesn't have a lot of thought or logic because I'm just irritated with the weapon balancing system. Irritation. We've been talking about weapon balancing (I have) since April.... and it still doesn't exist. It's annoying.

@Stormandreas: Twin Vipers kill ammo. Yes I could do tons of damage and have, but then I have no sidearm. My Latron and Latron Prime are awesome/fun. (but the AP weapons are just better on the mobs you get at high levels). 2 Shots on a level 60 Ancient? Sure.... I'll believe that one when I see the maxed Serration mod on it.

Edit: I've never played Call of Duty... so I have no idea what the guns on it are like. I haven't extensively played a shooter game since Doom 3 and Halo on XBox. Stop saying I'm trying to reskin something. I'm just saying balance and decent weapons would be nice.

  12. Get a hek. And I may not have used it on high level yet, but I do believe a potatoed lex can hold it's ground there, am I wrong?

I did. Leveled it to 30 and Potatoed it. I didn't like it. Magazine to small and reload too long IMO. I like rifles... I also did the same to the Lex but it doesn't really "hold it's own" the way I wanted it to. (But I do like the Sobek)

I'm down for a challenge, but it's no fun when the fourth member of your party jacks your kills because they have a God weapon. Or it's no fun when you need to fire several full magazines at 1 Ancient and you have 15 others right behind that one. I hope you understand what I'm saying here.

Bows are pretty nice to have and can still deal high damage at the later levels, although they only cater to specific niches in the Warframe playerbase.

Bullet/normal type damage just fails against armor scaling. If it were to be revised, everything would be reverse-buffed into viability, which would reduce the overpowered throwing knives/Acrid threads and complaint such as these.

I loved the concept of a Bow. I have Paris and Dread... but in high level mobs they are flooded and they are a niche weapon not as useful as others.

Whut? Sounds more like your mods are bad, not the guns. You can solo T3 missions with MK1-Braton, so...

But what is true, is that fake difficulty via level depending stats is one of the biggest creeping problems, which is a direct consequence to our ubermods of +400% shields and +1000% damage.

Anyway... i already did entire topic on this matter, so let's take it apart here.

Mods aren't bad, but if I take good mods and move them to a less powerful weapon (ie MK-1 Braton), the balance isn't there. Plus again, you have the other members of your party chewing up your kills and the whole time you know it's because there are "better" options for weapons. If I know I'm going past wave 10 in a def mission I NEED an armor ignore weapon. (ok technically I don't need but you catch my drift). If I stay at love waves, or low levels, then fine.... Braton (my favorite gun) is epic.

  13. I've been looking for a gun which fires bullets that doesn't suck. Is that too much to ask for?

Do I need something with Lasers, spitballs, darts, rockets, or throwing knives? What ever happened to a GUN?

I thought for sure the Vasto would have been that sidearm I was looking for (I have Kunai, akboltos, aklato, viper, twin viper, afuris....) but sure enough on a high level mission, lvl 50+, damage sucks.

Same with the Braton and Latron (Prime). At high levels these weapons just do not do the damage we need to clear mobs. Some guy with a knife sneaks up behind you and kills your target in 1 shot.

I wanted a GUN. Not a shotgun, not a dart thrower, not a spitball, not knives. A Gun.

Vasto, Lex, AFuris, Viper (Twin), Lato, AKLato, all take a dive at high levels.

Braton, Latron, Grakata, Gorgon, Burston all take a dive at high levels.

Is this really too much to ask for? I'm about to be Mastery level 9 and I still have yet to find a real gun worth anything. (Sobek is pretty good for a shotgun though)

Don't get me started on how inadequate the Bows are....
