  1. It's not random, it goes directly to where you are aiming, which can be pretty effective when you have like 20 guys using shotguns on you. Also, I think that perhaps it would replace Bullet Attractor. This way you choose what to hit, and can possibly if you are good at aiming get criticals with it.

Yea that makes sense. It would also make sense as a replacement to Bullet Attractor in that sense except one thing: Infested and Corpus. Bullet Attractor is at least useful in that it works with all factions to focus attack on a single target. To replace it would make the proposed shield only effective with grineer.

I agree.... Crush should have some level of armor penetration. You would think given it's description it would arguably be better on enemies with armor than without.

+1 to Hauteclare's above post. We shouldn't be comparing frames and it's a bad habit. Your right about shield recharge too. It needs to be easily castable. Making it AoE using the type of targeting of Loki's Decoy (point to a spot and cast) rather than "target casting" is the way it needs to go. The current target casting really detracts from Shield Polarizes utility.

  2. This is exactly where you are wrong. The golden skill is called Rhino Stomp, in that case.

For the same price in energy, against armored ennemies, you gain 200 dmg with crush. Or you gain 10 seconds crowd control and 60% range, with an instant cast on stomp. The choice seems obvious, doesn't it ?

Ah you got me on cast time and control time not on distance. Crush can control near an entire map with a high level player. *points to self* I don't remember ever being able to control a mob 60m away with Rhino Stomp, unless that's one of those 'fixes' Rhino players vie for...

Edit: Probably more like 45m away. But being able to control/damage enemies on platforms above your head and below varying distances away is still something I haven't seen any skill be able to do.

  3. Only potatoes, slots and forma. Maybe a color pack. Never buy frames. Never buy sentinels. Never buy weapons. It depends on how much you have or plan to have.

If you'll be going founders pack Hunter or higher then you could consider key packs, mod packs or helmets.

These are principles I go by and I have every frame but Vauban. All frames are potatoed. Some weapons are potatoed with a forma. Do your research and make sure you really like the weapon before potatoing it though. I have a couple weapons I wish I didn't waste it on. I purchased 1 key pack and a color palette. I still have about 400 plat on Hunter pack.

    Hope this helps.

  4. In my experience Crush is the golden skill of this game. I've done pretty well with it at high levels. I admit it doesn't do much to heavy, armor laden enemies level 30+ but not much does at that point. In high levels I just use Crush to control/slow a mob so my teammates have room to breathe and revive while the mob is under control.

Polarize as is has gotten me killed enough times to scare me from using it. As noted for the reasons in my earlier post.

On the shield suggestion by Cerebrum maybe I could help: Dark Sector's shield from what I know randomly bounced all incoming bullets. This initially sounds like a great idea... but it would only work against Grineer. It's similar to Iron Skin in that Mag is temporarily "immune" to certain attacks during the effect. It's similar to Nyx uber but without the "absorb and send out" because the shield is a completely random bounceback hitting whatever it may. Plus which skill would it replace?

  5. Another Rhino topic?..

Read my mind. I'm completely convinced at this point people who play Rhino will never be satisfied with whatever DE does to him. They (Rhino players) need to find a new frame if they're not happy with Rhino. There are 12 other options to go with.

Yes, I have Rhino level 30. Yes, I have experienced with Rhino (like every other frame) his skills are situational. If you don't like his skill set one of the other frames has what you're looking for. Rhino has been visited more by DE than any other frame and if I were them I'd start to ignore pleas to change Rhino......again.

I genuinely don't understand why Rhino players are constantly looking for God-mode and complaining when it's not given. I'm sorry.... but Rhino topics are getting annoying. He was my first frame after Loki and I loved him for a specific style.... then my play style sent me elsewhere.

  6. ...

The issue of Crush periodically not immobilizing enemies may be (like most other issues in this game) a latency-induced problem. The only enemy types Crush reliably refuses to immobilize are Grineer Rollers and Corpus Osprey (might need to check this again), although they do suffer the damage at the end of the cast. This generally is a non-issuse as Mag seems to be immune to staggering during the casting animation.  Personally, have only ever had an issue with this when a Grineer Heavy unit warps into melee range during bad latency moments and knocks Mag out of her casting animation.

Giving Crush more crowd control utility (stuns, knockdown after cast) may be overpowering the skill.....

On Crush: As I said earlier I think it's perfectly fine the way it is and properly modded is a extremely strong skill.

That said Mag is not immune to stagger during cast and not invincible. I've died quite a few times during crush cast and have been knocked on my butt enough times too. The cast always finishes though whether you're dead or fallen. For a skill this powerful I would say it's perfectly reasonable. Crush offers crowd control, holds the enemies in place to be shot at, and deals significant damage on Grineer and Corpus (not Infested). Max Flow, Streamline, Focus, Stretch and/or Coil Helmet and properly executed, you control the map with Crush. I love it.

Edit: That being said, this is only 1 skill of 4. Frames need to have all 4 skills as viable options to use. :(

Enemies not within the indefinite casting area of Crush at the immediate time of cast 1 (right hand) or 2 (left hand) are not effected by Crush. This includes rollers quickly entering or exiting your casting radius.

I hope this explains rollers and other enemies 'not' being controlled by Crush.

Edit: Thank you Hauteclere. I really hope Mag's skill set is improved.

  7. I agree with 90% of your original post. The other 10% I forgot.

+1 -> Please higher difficulties. I completely agree it's getting monotonous

+1 -> Plat prices are stupid high. I can't justify dropping another $50 on a game with no content other than farming.

+1 -> RNG is rigged. Drops don't scale with difficulty. As a high level player in a clan with even higher level players, I've seen this.

What sucks is you'll probably be flamed by half the community for this thread.

  8. Thank you so much for this post. Mag is my favorite frame only being contended by Saryn for one reason only: Useable skillset. That said I've forma'd Mag twice because I enjoy her so much.

I read your complete first post and would remark:

Pull 4a would be the best option I'd vote on. Pull should definitely deal damage. Mag is extremely flimsely after sheilds... which is ok if you play it smart. Part of playing it smart is not having heavy enemies right on top of you. If we must "Pull" ( I would suggest a removal of the entire skill but if it can be redeemed....) then Pull must do damage or be a push skill. Mag is NOT a heavy hitter as much as I enjoy her. She needs tactical advantage, not 'in your face' fighting.

Shield Polarize 1a is the option I would choose. As it stands I hardly use this skill.... in leveling Mag three times. I want to use this skill and I think it would be great but for three reasons I avoid it: 1) It rarely drains ALL shields from heavy enemies 2) Cast time is slower than the time it would take to shoot down the shield of one enemy 3) In the time it's taken to 'polarize' I've been chewed up by whoever I'm fighting and have dealt no damage at all. Usually this skill kills me in the end. I like the concept but it needs a buff or AoE. AoE, effecting teammates and enemies and pods is the best suggestion I've heard so far.

I'm happy with Bullet Attractor and Crush the way they are, but if you have any improvements... then praise God.

Other than this I really hope Mag has a considerable look from DE, mostly at her skillset. Owning every frame but Vauban I would say the reason people harp on Frost/Saryn/Vauban being "OP" is only because they have a diverse, balanced, situational skillset and not because they're truly OP.

Again thank you and +1 to the original poster.

  9. Why are we nerfing the Kunai again? Because they're too cool for school?

If you really want to nerf the Kunai, remove one polarity. Leave the rest alone.

But again.... why? There isn't anything exceptionally awesome about them. As noted earlier, they aren't as accurate as my AKBolto or Lex (regardless of numbers) and they have a long travel time as it is making long distance attacks very difficult. My modded Braton puts down a boss much faster than the Kunai in my experience.

These are a mid-range weapon best used when running past enemies with a quick throw or on stationary targets needing AP.

Edit: On paper Attack speed vs damage the DPS is very similar with Lex... unmodded. Without the Lex accuracy.

  10. Agreed. Crit mods are horrible as it is now. I've raised the issue a few times and the community seems to think it doesn't need to be addressed.....

Dual Zorens, a unique weapon (dual axes), should have some use to them. I have maxed crit chance, fury, and damage on my zorens and it's so hit and miss I don't even know why I bothered. (more miss than hit)

Crit mods NEED to be fixed so it's a viable build option.

    +1 to the OP

  11. Hek is a garbage weapon.

I have a Hek level 28 potatoed..... I honestly don't like it. I have Damage maxed, every elemental mod and it's still not OP. Having to reload every couple of shots? God forbid you miss. Damage is reduced at mid range.

I think Hek is perfect for those who LOVE shotguns. If you're not a shotgun guy (like me) then you won't like the Hek. The people who say "Hek > All" are morons. The the damage % at the end of the mission speak for itself. Hek is balanced with the rest of the weapon already.

It's balanced even with the strun, which I've made to level 30. They both have their pros and cons so it could stay the way it is.

The good thing is now you can't snipe with Hek and that was the big issue.

  12. I can see your issue.

RNG is RNG is all I can say. Over time you will get everything, that's all I can say on that.

As for content, they are adding it in drips and drabs. There will be actual lore content and gameplay relating that delivered to us, they've said that in the dev stream. As to when, I can't really say.

I'm sorry if my OP started a flame war here. That wasn't my intention. But what I'm getting at is actual lore content. I'm mastery rank 6 about to be 7. According to steam I've put in 200+ hours. I've done my fair share of resource farming with 11 frames and 3 times that many weapons. Farming.... is tiring. Don't care about RNG being rigged (which it is) because in some ways I could understand it/ignore it being rigged.

I'm talking actual lore content like a real game. Constantly developing storyline. Special missions to make "progress". Etc. I thought I heard the devs say U8 would give us this and I've been hanging on. I still have NO lore with U8 and the gameplay is all about farming and shooting the same (now for me) easy mobs.

TL:DL I'm making this thread in hopes the community will agree with me and start asking for more gameplay content and less new weapons. (ie less farming needs more content)

  13. Because I don't think we have enough farming in this game. We have WAY too much substantial content to keep people motivated in the storyline of the game. If there were even like.... sub-missions, so we could farm for buildings and materials so we could farm for more materials, it would be golden.

No but seriously. I thought U8 was supposed to give us more actual content and gameplay? I thought the devs said something like this in a livestream.

Instead I've been met with more farming. Farming for materials to make dojo rooms to make more weapons we could farm materials for.....

At least a new mission type that didn't cost plat (instead of void keys) would have been nice.

  14. I wouldn't, because at least I can fuse point strikes and organ shatters to improve more useful mods with the same polarity.

Exactly. Dropping 100 power mods for 1 exclusive frame is simply a waste of space and a beautiful letdown.

  15. Having 6 pages of 'mind control' makes no sense. These are exclusive frame "power" mods. My Mag will not share the same powers as my Nyx. Those frame powers the devs talk about in the future are not the same as exclusive powers.

At least 100 Organ Shatters is more useful. I should know... I probably have over 100 of those too...

Edit: Those ability mods I believe should not be distributed. I believe they should be given to us when we create a frame (as they are now) but we can't delete them. The only way to upgrade them should be fusion cores or other mods.

  16. This is in regards to specific power mods for Warframes. I don't know about you guys but I receive a TON of these things. I have all frames but Frost and Vauban and I have no more need for 30+ Mindcontrol/Pull/RhinoCharge/SlashDash/WellofLife/etc/etc and they only sell for 200 credits.

Can we please either completely remove frame mod drops (make the original 4 undeleteable) or make the drop rate MUCH less. These mods are only useful for 1 frame and after you've boosted the mod to rank 4 you don't need any more. Wouldn't it be better to have Vitality or other useful mod you could upgrade and use for all frames instead of a one trick pony for a frame you may not even own?

Just ran a Mobile Defense mission and of 7 mods dropped 5 of them were frame power mods.....

  17. Sadly iv used the 3 void keys I had already, and all I got was two Latron prime parts, and Forma BP..

*sigh* I just want my Frost Prime :/

Forma BP would be cool, but yes, all I want is Prime. I used 1 of the 2 keys and got stuck in mission (so I spent the whole mission in a bottomless pit while the others ran around saying "wow!!! Cool!!!') and then after the timer ran out we "received" an Ash Chassis.... which didn't even show up for any of us after completion.

Edit: Screenshot of where I was stuck http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=147322263

  18. Yeah same I only got 2 keys from all the packs i bought.  I better be getting a refund or more keys if they are going to cheat us like this...

UPDATE:  If you submit a support ticket they will fix your situation.

Still waiting for my support ticket to be addressed. I had two issues in mine though. I not only received only 2 keys but fell in a hole in the mission I couldn't get out of. Key wasted. -_- Support ticket #23888
