  1. The slower reward interval coupled with getting mostly endo/ayatans seems more a punishment than rewarding, especially to veterans, which I assume this is aimed at. NPC defense is more a mess than a fun challenge, given the NPC will just run wherever and behave in an erratic manner. As it stands it feels more like a "time grind" than a "fun time" since it quickly feels... sluggish, rather than intense. If that makes sense. I'd gladly nerf the endo rewards for more intense enemy rate and reward rate. Or, well, pad the time with something interesting, like minibosses, that have a chance to drop the mods.

  2. Okay, after testing him some, and checking out his kit, I have come to find that most feel lackluster and don't really convey the Sentient/Eidolon punch it could have. A real shame this concept wasn't pushed heavier, but I understand that at some point he was supposed to be a vampire frame. This just doesn't work, sadly. It leaves 3 lackluster abilites and one strong, and brilliant 4th.

    Lets start off with Enthrall:

Enthrall is... it feels like a leftover from the vampire concept. It really doesn't offer much in battle. The stationary traps left behind by dying thralls are pretty well useless since you can't plan them well, and offer really little to combat. Thralls are just kinda meat shields, but are probably one of the least kind of meat shields among frames.

Enthrall feels more like a theme we'd use for, say, a Void/Corrupted theme frame anyways, not Eidolon. Really, if we needed a minion ability, why not have Revenant create something like Vomvalysts. Obviously they wouldn't have that second stage where only Void attacks kill them, OR maybe they do that and become suicide soldiers. Anywho, Vomvalyst buddies, they stand out from all other enemies and your comrades don't accidentally kill them!

Added effect, if there are active vomvalysts when downed, sorta similar to Inaros, Revenant will fall down kneeling, and the vomvalysts will rush to him, healing him for a % and reviving him. Give it a cooldown perhaps for balance. Something for survival that makes him feel like an Eidolon more, and makes his ability self sustaining to compensate for his squishiness.

    Mesmer Skin:

    Debating on this one but...

Lets face it, this is mostly like a lesser Shatter Shield. Why not make this a kind of adaptive DR instead? Maybe make it so instead of reflecting damage, make it shoot out sentient energy, akin to the vomvalyst blasts, targetting the shooter/attacker. Obviously you lose DR when the duration ends, but this would be something to save you in a pinch.

    Reave:

This is tough, while in theory it is a good ability, but execution won't sustain you. This is also obviously a leftover from the vampire concept. The numbers overall are so low, even with thralls. Maybe make it so you consume your vomvalyst buddies for health/shields/overshields? One I'm not sure on.

    Danse Macabre:

The one ability that feels fine. I can't say much on it because I think it already fits the theme and is a great CC damage ability, especially with that adaptive damage type. Versatile, broadly useful, and it feels like a Sentient/Eidolon ability.

    Passive:

Boost this sucker, or make it the vomvalyst revival thing. Keep resistance to magnetic water, though, that's fine.

    -----

Anyways, these were just some of my own thoughts/opinions. I think he's a great concept, just... the execution came out clunky.

What do you mean? Helminth maintains the Orbiter and likely has some connection to our frames. How is it unaccounted for?

How does in-game examples of sidegrades with the Mutalist prefix not count for a topic asking for Infested themed sidegrades? They exist. They are called Mutalist or are completely changed weapons and no longer really resemble the original weapon, making an entirely new weapon.

Helminth is also a strain connected to Nidus, who has its own twist on the infestation, even its own version of the Charger and Maggot. The former used to be just be a tame Charger, up until it became a Nidus themed doggo. Either way, it partially implies that Helminth has its own twist on the wild infested strain, and has this desire to appease their master. I feel like it is not such a big stretch to apply it to weapons, as an ingame example, and dislike the idea as much as you want, it is there as one potential outlet. I feel like Helminth should have more to it.

Nidus, again, is part of the Helminth strain, referred to as "master." Though, I feel sad we don't have much further lore to connect the two. I kind of view Helminth in some of the same light as Abathur of StarCraft 2, having its own vision of how to improve the infestation. Either way, it is up to DE to ultimately decide, not us.

Edit: Also, I don't feel the "Mutalist" example counts, more an... easy out than a constructive proposal. I get that infested weapons aren't the most loved, not very fashionable and all, but I really don't see why that should ban them from receiving upgrades like other weapons. I just think it is a little closed minded. After all, even infested enemies have their own direct upgrades to each other.

Edit 2: Now that I think about it, a few devstreams ago they did mention interest in direct upgrades on the same level as Vandals/Wraiths, though haven't heard any elaboration since.

"Mutalist", from what I recall, refers to a strain of Infestation that is able to infect and take over machines. See Salad's efforts around Mesa's release. Wraith and Vandal are weapons that have been tuned by subgroups of the Grineer and Corpus. The Infested don't tune weapons, so much as change their very makeup and structure.

Mutalist is likely what the Infested do to weapons on the same level as Wraith and Vandal. I doubt we'd see another Infested prefix. We might see the midway point in the change like with the Quanta -> Mutalist Quanta -> Paracyst line, but for the Ogris -> Torid and Amprex -> Synapse where we don't have a Mutalist version.

tl;dr: We have what you are asking for, it's just a hive-mind driven bioweapon isn't quite as deft a machinist as the Corpus or Grineer.

Does not count. We have another strain unaccounted for anyways, that has few examples to run under in the form of Helminth, which is more a "tamed" and refined version of the standard infestation. That could essentially be our machinist.

I thought infested weapon prefix was mutalist. On that note. Gimmie a mutalist supra.

Mutalist is technically a different weapon altogether, than really a variant, and currently only consists of the Quanta and Cernos. It doesn't account for weapons like Synapse, Tysis, and Phage, which could do well to receive an upgraded variant for either an event or syndicate.

  6. I got to say, maybe I'm one of the few that actually loves the idea of infested weapons. I think you guys have given great life to them on how they always move and pulse, open and close, and overall feel and sound. There's just something about a living weapon that astounds me and creeps me at all the same time.

However, as a long time player, I feel they don't have near as much weight as other faction weapons. As more are made, I start thinking, will we ever get special versions of those older ones that already exist? We have Vandals for Corpus, Wraith for Grineer, for Tenno is Prime, and through Suda, we even have the Synoid variations for Cephalon weapons, this isn't counting the large array of the other syndicate variants. Really, several infested weapons seem to fall behind, despite how weird and interesting they are.

Where are the refined variants for our meat weapons on par with the likes of Vandal/Wraith/Syndicate?

  7. What is coming first? Plains of Eidolon or The Sacrifice?

Nox's drop rates seem significantly low considering how unique and tougher he is compared to normal Grineer, is this intentional? Will the new aura he drops ever go on alert rotation? Also that gun, a primary Stug? Me want!

This, I only started playing a year ago and I keep seeing these events referenced. I feel like there's a fair amount of lore behind some of them that I'm missing out on. Like every time I go to farm equinox parts, Tyl yells at me for killing his precious tubemen, and I have no idea what he's talking about. Or like half the broken relays on the star chart. Why are they broken?

and yes, I know I could go to the wiki and read about them. But that's boring. I'd much rather be able to play through a shortened solo quest-like version of each to be able to experience it for myself. Maybe at the end instead of letting me choose for the ones that have options, have a short dialogue that says something like "in summer of 201X, most Tenno decided to side with _________, resulting in this outcome."

I agree that new players should be allowed to experience the events, Tubemen was a very memorable one that feels a shame that new players can only experience it through YT and a wiki.

    Yeah, looks about correct.

Tubemen of regor is looking like the most loved and least hated event in warframe. And this includes the fact that he was also released with equinox, which is still the grindiest warframe to get due to being in 8 pieces.

Please take note of this DE. Do more like tubemen of regor, or bring him back.

Well, it definitely had a lot of heart and soul in it, and it was clear there was a lot of fun to be had in the voice acting, writing, and just overall design. If anything, it says a lot of us loves hammy, over the top characters bickering with one another, building them into lovable and memorable, or detesting them, and just us having new places to explore. There was just so much there, and it had a certain dynamic.
