  1. Personally, Infested shouldn't be meant to scare like we traditionally thing of infestations, but should be meant to show their superiority through mutation and sheer numbers.

Another idea: Infested spawning in larger numbers and corpus spawning in fewer numbers to better exmplify the superior status they believe themselves to be.

  2. Counting the enemy types, their are 19 (+1 when/if the Nervos comes back, 12 (counting security camera, laser barrier, and turret all as one), and a whopping nine infested enemies. I understand they are the least of the three factions, but they are severely lacking and the Grineer are getting more work instead. I'm guessing their plan is to flesh out Grineer for launch and then build up corpus and infested with back-story and add the fourth race after that with a big story-based build up.

    However, some ideas for Infested:

    - It appears that the their thing is that they don't have a home and are essentially space marauders infecting and taking over places as they move. This is fine, but for ships they've had for several centuries should be HEAVILY mutated...like completely covered in growths. It could have new paths that cater to the infected that they could've dug through the ship after centuries of ownership. Being organic, they could also have more chaotic and smoother design, IE their are no sharp drops, only slight inclines from level to level and the pathing could be direct and functional to simulate

    - Infested chambers. (I originally used the term nests, but that may not be accurate depending on their lore) It could show how they turn survivors or how they birth new mutations.

-Speaking of, a new mutation: a flying adversary. It would be weak and hard to shoot on par with most flying things, but it would be unique to the infested.

    - Improving the leapers so they don't take as long to attack . Additionally, more unique forms for the infected. Currently, they are all mutated forms of other enemies. I don't know if they are intended to be like that or that was the best they could come up with working with what they had, but at some point, they will need to be unique. And considering the nature of infestation and organic life, it is understandable for them to change every now and again. Organic virus > Zombies.

-More infested weaponry. It should be a focus on acidic effect able to break through their enemy's armor.

  3. I agree, however I think it's necessary to point out that if this were to happen, it would be incredibly tedious and hard to farm materials for warframes or weapons. Bosses could use a buff yes, but killing a harder boss for just one mod drop? I'd rather they stay as they are. We're facing the boss of a planet which isn't much really, while none are hard, we gain little reward for taking them down as is due to blueprints not having a high drop rate, and the same for rarer recourses.

I'm hoping with U10, they adjust the drop rates on bosses to be better. Also, one mod drop is rare on certain bosses. <_<

  4. Other than his extremely long shielded period, I'd say Vor is actually a good first step in the right direction for bosses, his attacks are powerful but dodgeable, and there's actuallly some strategy to fighting him besides shooting faster than his shield can recharge. Like Casardis said, Lech Kril is also mostly okay, but he could afford to be a little more offensive.

As for the Jackal, I think if they boosted the damage he could take between intervals he'd be fine. I understand the damage caps are there so the battle isn't over in two seconds, but currently you have to repeat the process so many times it's just artifictially extending the battle. Alternatively, maybe they could buff the damage his legs take or make it so you have to disable 2-3 of them.

As for the rest of the bosses there pretty much just placeholders for now, and DE is currently reworking them (J3 Golem is next and is supposed to be HUGE), so we just have to be patient.

YES! That phrase you used! Artificially extending the battle! That is the problem with the invincibility type boss.

As I was making this thread, I was thinking about the Patriarch from Killing Floor. He's a bullet sponge, but he packs a massive kick and he really does take a whole team to take down. He isn't a perfect boss either, but he is a lot more challenging because of the HEAVY fire power he packs.

  5. Speaking of the Golem, it is an interesting situation, but it is very basic and annoying: He's a challenge but he isn't a fun challenge. A boss who's only real attack is unavoidable stunlock/teleport+damage isn't fun.

Edit: The challenge also isn't that much of a problem so long as you have a frame with a Vitality buff.

  6. Most of them currently need work. They are either bullet sponges or they have been redone to feature invincible time periods in which they can't really do damage.

Neither bullet sponges nor invincibility will cover for the lack of attack power that most bosses have. Bosses needed better attacks and better dodge abilities for the bosses. Their attacks could also be easier to dodge to offset the high damage.

The problem with invincibility with bosses is that it makes high DPS weapons useless since most of the rounds are wasted during invincibility. For instance, anyone expereinced will agree that fighting the Jakal right now is tedious but not very hard. That is because his only devastating attack is his missiles which he seldom uses. However, the boss fight still takes for ever because of the extended period that he can't take damage. Instead of him being invincible, he should take atleast reduced damage and his MG's damage should be buffed.

  7. I was up late last night to get the free 75 platinum, got it, submitted it to my account and went to sleep.

Now I have a total of 105 platinum, as I bought another warframe slot when I first started the game.

Im not going to buy reactors or catalysts as much as I want to, but anything that can be gotten in game I wont pay for.

So basically, should I buy more warframe slots, or colours?

(If colours, what would be the best one to get, I kind of like the smoke one)

It depends on how many slots you already have. I chose to spend it on Sentinel accessories because I already have enough slots for everything and now I HAVE MECHA DETHCUBE.

  8. very misleading title, i got key from alienware just fine, took almost an hour untill they emailed it.

but i dont think it would be possible in the near futur, unless you want to turn to raptr and ask if they willing to give DE some money and do a giveaway.

They've already done two Raptr giveaways in the past, so I don't see why doing it in the future would be hard and the Raptr site atleast works properly. I'm unable to get my platinum because 18 in the USA is either too young or not a suitable country. Most other players I hear are running in to the issue of the site not working half the time to 404 Errors.

  9. - So far, each new Warframe added has been vastly superior to its predecessors. DE has stated that this is their intent, but it leaves the question: do you have a ceiling on the power of an individual warframe and if you do, what is it?

    - Regarding Prime Weapons, has their been any thought given to the possibility of moving reactors/catalysts and/maybe Forma from non-prime weapons to prime weapons?

Further explanation separate from the actual question for ease.

    - After being able to roll Lvl 130 enemies in the Void using a Nyx, Frost, and Nova (And some unimportant fourth), I started to wonder what would happen when the next super Warframe came out and suddenly we only need Nova and that frame.

    - The reason for this being added (and only for non-prime/prime weapons-no reactor movements) is that while looking different and costing differently, they are Mk2 weapons that are flat out better than their non-prime counterparts and make older weapons that people have spent 2 or more bucks on obsolete originals.

  10. I don't really like this idea. The Prime weapons are their own unique things. Just because you put a potato in the non-prime doesn't mean you should have the option to put a potato into the prime version.

If you were to go into your inventory in game, you would see the latron prime and the normal latron next to each other. And since we can't take potatos out normally, it wouldn't make sense to do it like this.

Prime weapons aren't so much unique as superior. For a weapon to be unique, their would have to be a reason for me to have both a Latron and a Latron Prime other than my collector's mentality. The idea that I can get say a braton and master it and spend two dollars on it then a better version comes out would make me certainly less willing to buy a future weapon or it's prime counterpart, and if they plan on adding prime versions of most weapons (which seems to be the direciton they are headed), my time would probably be better spent simply grinding up resources and void keys to get the prime versions later on.

Quite simply NO, too many folks playing warframe with silly ideas because they don't want to spend money in support of the game.

The game needs a CONSTANT revenue stream if it is to continue, and cosmetic items alone are not enough as they are all one time purchases. The potato system, the warframe & weapon slot system, forma bp, and void key drop rate are all fine as is. Spend money or accept the limitations inherent in all free to play, DE run a business not a charity.

I have a feeling you didn't even read my initial post. You simply saw something that could possibly hinder DE's profit and decided it was bad. But who exactly would this effect in the first place? The players who spend lots of time grinding out to get prime weapons (Since you can't pay your way to prime per say [buying void keys aside]). I highly doubt it is the new players who are more willing to drop money on the game to progress faster.

Additionally, you make DE sound like some starving child. It is pretty clear that right now they are a thriving company: their game is going to the next gen console along with a select few other F2P games and they don't owe any publisher any money like most other games. I'm not saying they don't need money, but they are not a beginning company struggling to survive. You shoudln't give them money because you think they are, but because they are an independent company that has strived more so than most other companies at interaction with their player base and making a small change that wouldn't have a large effect on their wallets while garnering more good will wont hurt them.

its a way for them to make money and pretty cheap all thing considered.

with the redone alert system im hoping potatoes arent as rare and people get a better shot at having some when they get that really nice wep. but reusing potatoes is not something you should expect anytime ever.

    just my opinion.

Potatoes, if anything, are going to become more rare because when one occurs, the chance of it happening again go down for a period. Additionally, it isn't reusing potatoes: it is moving them from an inferior weapon to its superior mk 2 version.

  11. The idea is pretty simple and it would make a lot of players feel better about Prime weapons if they could move their potatoes and forma from normal weapons to their prime counterpart. This would essentially increase the appeal of prime weapons and give a reason to actually play in them if they didn't have to lose the 2+ bucks they'd already dropped on the non-prime weapons. This would also help alleviate the issue that arises when players build a weapon then the prime counterpart is announced. This could work

To prevent abuse of this, it could have some trade offs to doing it such as:

    - The original weapon could be destroyed.

    - It could cost a large sum of credits.

    - It could be a one time thing (as in it can only be done for one particular normal and one particular prime at a time)

    - The original could require mastery.

After watching the U9 Teaser video where they announced lots of new prime weapons, this feature makes all the more since.

  12. Instead of a tutorial system, another system that pairs new/newer players up with experienced players to educate them. This would of course be optional on both parts, but I was thinking it would give an itneresting spin on the usual player intro and help grow a community. It would be good for older players who are getting tired of grinding and would rahter help out and it would make newer players feel more welcome. Their could be a small incentive for older players to actually help and possibly a rating system for them as well. Additionally, their could be a rank requirement of say 2 or 3 to indicate time spent playing the game.
