  1. First off: sure, give a polarized slot to dojo weapons. Hell, give them 3. Polarizations = time anyway, and it takes a long time to make these guns.

Second: If you buff the Supra, buff the Gorgon too. And do something about that huge 50% damage difference between the two of them.

The gorgon used to be pretty damn good back in the day when you could fire the first shots relatively accurately before recoil kicked in and made them swivel all over the place. Maybe bring that back, at least partially?

The Supra should be better than the Gorgon because it is MUCH harder to acquire.

  2. The main problem is that it seems to be buggy at very close range where the shots come out at an angle, I remember other weapons had a similar bug a while back which was fixed.

Still doesn't beat firing 30 bullets two feet away from a camera to no effect.

  3. IF they buff the Supra, they should somehow nerf it. Simply attaching a buff to it would make it rediculous.

Also, definitely a +1 for the polarity thing.

That's the point...it shouldn't be nerfed because of the extremely high cost and requirement.

  4. This is the one gun I will say the cost is justified. You can find on youtube a guy soloing hek in less than a second. *rhino stomp*, starts shooting, dead. He doesn't even reach maximum speed.

Yes, you can super mod a gun to kill a boss almost instantly. I believe I've seen that video and I've seen a few people doing it. They have like Serration Level ~14 and max damage mods. Name me a weapon that wont rape face with that much.

And that is ignoring the second point regarding this weapon. Bosses are now getting make overs to gain times of invincibility when the DPS means literally nothing. Bosses are the only thing this weapon is currently great at and that is going away quickly. This weapon needs to be effective as something other than a boss killer and its current accuracy prevents that.

  5. AND I HAVE A SOLUTION.... SELL SUPRA ....

I generally try to limit myself to constructive feed back, but do you have any idea how inconceivably stupid that is?

It's so stupid that you made me talk in contradiction.

  6. I know this is crazy talk for a weapon so many consider to be OP already, but as I play it, I find it a bit lack luster. Mostly, the accuracy on it. I've spent thirty rounds firing at a camera two feet away before finally destroying it.

Another concern I have is what if they keep redoing all of the bosses and giving them invincible moments when the Supra's DPS becomes worthless.

Anyway, the buff can be in one of two forms:

1 - The accuracy system the Gorgon use to have in which the first shots were pinpoint and accuracy decreased from there. Additionally, it doesn't have to be pinpoint like the gorgon was, but the first few shots being more accurate is a reasonable and easily rationale set up.

2 - Tightening the bullet spread on the gun over all. This is pretty self explanatory. It'll make it more reliable without being OP.

For a Rank 7 weapon requiring a massive amount of resources (7 Control moduels, 70 Fieldron, 9500 Salvage, 1000 alloy, 1750 Plastids, 250k credits, and a forma [ The forma is an additional Neural Sensor, Neurode, Orokin Cell, Morphic, and 35k credits]) and time (4.5 days minimum), it is a little disappointing and it should be flat out better than a Gorgon. Currently, a Gorgon is more accurate at range.

One last note for all dojo weapons: they should have a polarity of some sort...a forma goes in to making them, no reason it shouldn't come with a polarity. It could be random for each weapon as well to make them more unique.

  7. 1. Events: Past and Present…

Thanks to all those who joined this past weekend’s event! We’ve got tons of feedback on it, and are happily moving forward with this in mind for our next event…. More on that next week, *wink wink* *nudge nudge* :D! The Alert Event was less fun then the Fusion Moa one because it really didn't change that much...I just had to be on at a random time. Combining the two could be interesting or using the defense alerts as a tag along for events.

    2. Update 8 Related Work? Results!?

Update 8 laid the groundwork of the Dojo system, improvements are coming.  Steve’s May 30th post is still very much relevant. The list he made was long and inclusive of the teams efforts. We hope to deploy the changes and fixes once they have been properly tested. See here: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/55421-update-8-related-work/ The dojo will be much better after this, but I feel a lot of the dojo weapons are underwhelming for the cost...and they do cost...

    3. A month of: RNG, etc.

Looking back at these hot topics, it’s clear what remains one of the “hottest” of all: RNG. I have some updates on that front, specifically about our Alert System.  This is a much needed change. That being said, the Alert system isn't the only concern with RNG...running bosses 10 times for a Control Module or neurode seems a bit much. Maybe a cumulative system making it more likely to get rare resources each successive run? Also, another concern I plan to ask for hte live stream regarding bosses: is the plan to give all bosses invincible periods? These periods, when grinding, make the boss feel tedious and not really challenging. They also make really high DPS weapons (Supra in particular) essentially worthless in comparison to other weapons because it can't use its one advantage.

    Alert System Improvements!

Dilution is indeed the issue. Rest assured that nothing has been removed from the pool, despite many rumors otherwise. The team has put together a new system (as well as simulated 2 years of the script to see results).  What we are striving for is a balance of what is fair for free and paying players.  RNG as RNG won’t cut it anymore, because “famines” can happen, which is obviously not fair.

What we want to stand behind is a system that guarantees every item *will* drop. Our current system is  random and only guarantees that every item *could* drop. This is a very simplistic version of the goal, but worth sharing to keep everyone in the loop.

    4. Quest-able content!

This is a proposal we’re working on, it may not see the light of day, but it’s worth sharing. The idea is that instead of people waiting to get Alert rewards by chance (given feedback that: I don’t even need to play your game to get X, I just need to watch Twitter), we want to add a reward system for playing alerts in general. Doesn’t matter what alerts, but the more you play, the more likely the Lotus is to notice your contributions to the Tenno cause. She may just call on you for a special Quest, with a variety of rewards…. All of my yes.

    5. The “Great Warframe Buff”!

Yes, Scott submitted a “check-in” with this (Great Warframe Buff) as the title (for those of you who may not know, when a Warframe developer submits work it’s called a check-in). On this list was Mag, Volt, and Rhino. When this is deployed to our players, we will have concise areas to provide specific feedback on the changes we’ve made to improve the Warframes. More to come with this as the team makes more progress! This is a much welcomed change, but plenty of other Warframes need a buff as well. Maybe consulting the community for ideas on changes could make Scott's job a bit more feasible.

    6. But what about the bugs?

A lot of posts emphasize the sentiment “why add new content if you have broken things?” And the current answer to this is balancing excitement and new content with reviews and repair.  A lot of things (namely level issues) prevent a lot of players from completing missions or smoothly playing Warframe. We hope to fix many of these issues with Update 9 and will always continue responding to and fixing bugs. I have the most trouble joining games do to "Session Unavailable" and other random issues when joining.

    7. Steam Trading Cards?

This is a Steam program that Warframe had a chance to participate in. It is only available to Steam players, and we must follow all the Steam rules for this. Discussion and information can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/230410/discussions/0/864971765248742111 Indifference :p

Be sure to review our past weeks hot topics as well, some items are still relevant: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/67413-june-20th-community-hot-topics/

  8. As a Loki player i can relate to that, plus:

I've tried almost all the warframe, excluding vauban and volt, ana what i can tell you is nothing is as much fin as Loki. I do realize this is extremely subjective but still.

I just got Nyx to lvl 15 and while she is nice for defence she feels kind of... boring (thankfully not as much as the damage dealers Rhino, Ember, etc.) in my humble opinion.

Also i haven't figured out hot to defeat the Stalker  alone with her. Could any of the more experienced Nix users give me some tips on that?

    Artificial bump and answer!

The same way you defeat Stalker on any frame...use cover and gun him down. Her abilities don't really help that much with Stalker.

  9. I've been playing Nyx and her powers feel unrewarding.

-Mind Control is alright, but in most games, the team ends up killing the controlled being just as fast. A possible fix for this would be to give controlled enemies immunity from Nyx's team's friendly fire on it. (This would not be during the stun, only when it is fighting for the Tenno)

-Psychic Bolt is just kinda useless as a power. It doesn't do enough damage to be worth casting cost and it is sporadic.

    - Chaos currently works very well, but it is lacking one thing. When it is used, its effects on the battle feel irrelevant. Enemy kills and deaths under Chaos should count towards the player XP. This would make it feel more useful.

    - Absorb feels largely useless. I've used it multiple instances in which enemies - common grunts - would survive the effect of Absorb after being wailed on for the ten seconds. It is also useless at range and very unreliable at best. I have come up with two ideas to fix this.

One: Very simply, exponential damage return to all enemies in the AoE.

Two: A damage tier list for her ability. For example, if say 500 damage is received (or a certain percentage of the warframe's health/shields, it could launch seeking bolts that do damage to ranged attackers (this would make it more useful when fighting against Grineer and Corpus who fight from cover. These bolts could penetrate physical targets because it is a psychic attack and not effected by worldly material. When 500 damage (or percentage) is reached, the attack could shift to a massive AoE that would be devastating to the enemy. Possibly even head exploding if it isn't too graphic.

I personally like the second idea better and think it would be more interesting than the current ability.

Also, Nyx is banging, for lack of a better term.

  10. Currently, it is completely better than a Wyrm. Either the Wyrm needs a buff or the Deathcube needs to have its credit cost increased to indicate that it is a class above the Wyrm.

  11. Puncture is the biggest thing missing from this weapon. Give it that alone and it would be perfect; balanced for it's cost and 'tech' level.

It still needs a small range incrase so that my Orthos can't reach it's maximum range.

  12. This weapon is awful. The damage is relatively high, but not very good because ammo is wasted on the dead bodies that can't be seen clearly because of the fire. Ammo efficiency is mediocre and pretty manageable in bursts, but the feeble range with lack of a range indicator causes the waste of a lot of bursts. As a research weapon and a unique weapon, the only flame thrower, the weapon is completely worthless and disappointing. It is a less focused on weapon in a dire need of a buff. For example, my orthos completely outclasses the Ignis. I can kill hordes infected with ease combined with a stretch mod and power attacks for the ancients that the Ignis can't touch.

    Possible Buffs

-Give it innate piercing to hit multiple enemies.

-Make it incinerate instantly killed enemies.

One of those buffs should be applied above all else to make the weapon more unique and useful.

The following buffs should be applied as needed to make the weapon more useful as needed.

    -A damage increase.

-A range increase: historically, flamethrowers can/could reach upwards of 80m.

    -Fire rate increase.

The previous buffs are generic but necessary, particularly the range increase to something like 15m.

In summary, the Ignis is currently a bad weapon and needs to be buffed considerably as a unique weapon and a research weapon. It is currently out classed by almost every other weapon including some melee weapons. A buff that would be very useful for this weapon is to allow it to hit multiple enemies at the same time with some supplementary basic buffs along with it.

  13. Well, I feel that about finishes the life of this thread. One final note (As it is a matter of opinion and serves no benefit to debaiting): for content that is essentially cheap and expendable, a whole day (6 hours a day factoring in time out and what not) seems a bit too high, but like I said it is a matter of opinion and we'll find out if it is too high in the coming weeks. Nice chatting with you and good hunting.

  14. I feel most of the issues were from not making information clear in the patch notes. Knowing the ways to access void keys and what they did with the snipetron would've cleared up a lot of the trouble.

As for the scorpion, my biggest issue is with the animations. I'm glad that it makes the game more challenging, but it doesn't need to do it in such an ugly way. The fact that it is so ugly and seemingly slap-dash reflects negatively on all of U8. I do still think a bit of a speed tweak is needed on it so it moves more reasonably or a better running animation to reflect its speed.

I want to bring up one point gleaned from information you revealed about void keys. You said you got ~20 keys without paying between your clan (Of 18 which you also specified). That is pretty close to 1 key every 3 days which seems unreasonable considering everything regarding Void keys (F2P game, new content, etc).

  15. I disagree with your overall conclusions and  it should be stated a full half of the content from this patch is the part you are calling "not visible".

Personally I find the Grineer ship fantastic and a welcome change from the mines, fully with in the style and feel of the grineer while being it's own thing, but we differ on opinion there..

The new enemies might be a bit on the weaker side but they also create a more dynamic varied battle field so at least there is some improvement there.  The scorpion warriors have become a real hazard for the unaware player at higher levels so that has become a challenge.

As for the Snipetron, well if you looked through the forums you'd have known the answer to your own complaint.  they removed the snipetron because they re-purposed it for a research-able corpus sniper rifle more in fitting with the lore.  They put the Vulkar in there so people who like sniper rifles could still have one, and no one who already owned a snipertron lost it as far as i know.  So they removed a weapon generally acknowledged as bad, replaced it with a better version and re-purposed the asset to something new and different. Double plus good nothing to complain about there.

For the Dojo I tend to agree with you, costs could take some looking at, that or drop rates, forma is a bit ridiculous at this point considering my 18 member clan in a three day weekend actually only saw 1 drop and that was as a login reward.

now as to the bit you skipped which is actually one of the nicest things in warframe the void.

Large Sprawling and very pretty tile set, actual puzzles that require some skill to complete and if you fail them there is no second chance.  Significant rewards in terms of credits and modules, and at tier 3 a challenge that exceeds missions on pluto.  All in all very solid lots of praise for this, however The drop rate of teh "rare components" of the f prime the receiver and the blade definitely seem out of whack by a little bit.

reviewing U8 with out reviewing the Void is an incomplete review.

My lack of review of the Void isn't great, but neither is adding a whole bunch of content that can't be accessed without paying or grinding for hours. Maybe a better idea would've been to give everyone a single void key so they could atleast try it out and get a taste of the void. People, myself included, are less likely to pay for a complete mystery as opposed to paying for something we've tried before.

Their intentions were not made clear. I will not accept responsibility for not knowing information that wasn't clearly available . One more note: The Vulkar is not better than the snipetron. It does more damage, but the lack of armor-ignore kills its usefulness.

The Grineer did not a challenge at a higher level, but the Scorpion is currently poorly implemented. If it isn't in range, it is in range in less than a suck and the player is instantly downed in an awkward animation. Their isn't much skill to fighting them, they just awkwardly disrupt the player. The Shield Lancer is a better example of how it should be: it is tough and devastating, but avoidable and fight able.

Regarding the Grineer ships, I will try to find a few and take another look at them again and edit my original post accordingly.

  16. I've refrained from giving a run down on my opinion on this patch until the end of the long weekend to increase the chance the devs would actually see it.

A disclaimer: I have not played or seen any of the Void related content with U8 and the following opinions and statements are based on everything non-Void.

This patch, overall, feels pretty mediocre and feels poorly thought out and incomplete for the actual content added.

Of the Grineer tile set, all I've actually seen is the new exit. If I have passed through other sections, and I'm sure I have, they all seem pretty much the exact same as the mining station. I understand this is part of the Grineer style, but it doesn't feel any different than the mining station.

The Grineer weapons are what is to be expected of them at this point (Subpar to already existing weapons), but the Vulkar is an interesting situation because they removed the Snipetron. The snipetron was always counter productive to the fast paced game style of Warframe. However, this doesn't make since because they added the Vulkar. Because they added the Vulkar, their was no reason to remove the snipetron. It looks like two different departments working independently of each other and no one could decide which should take precedents so they did both.

The new Grineer Flamethrower is great, but the Scorpion looks appalling. That is the only word to describe it. The animation for it is awkward and poorly done. I've been pulled through walls before. And the dragging animation is awful and disruptive to the flow of combat. The fact that it is unavoidable and half the time their is nothing actually connecting the player to the Scorpion is bad. Instead of having her disrupt combat, should could have thrown a projectile that, if it hits, it then is used to pull the player down or it could alter the directional keys to reflect the new force acting on the player.

The Dojo, even if it is in alpha, doesn't appear to have any concern for balance. Everything costs the same. They could've atleast made an attempt to balance the prices based on the importance of the building. Additionally, making the components cost Forma is a terrible idea. This wouldn't be an issue if the Dojos were superficial, but their is content that is locked out to players unless they are in a clan that can do it. This has caused another major issue: clan conglomerates and the impracticality of smaller clans of closer guys. Instead, it is now hundreds of players joining large clans to get the benefits of the Dojo. This is not healthy for the longevity of the game because these clans are business related and hinder relationship growth betwene players that keeps people coming back when the game starts to get old.

All of the minor and less visible things done this patch, however, are great. The bug fixes, alloy drop rates, and rhino improvements are a great addition. The best one, though, is probably the toggleable health display that fosters team play.

I am not enraged by any of this nor am I predicting the death of Warframe, but this patch leaves much to be desired and I look forward to seeing how DE improves the content of U8 and responds to the community's outrage (Even though a lot of it was pointless and misplaced).

TL;DR : The visible parts of this patch are rather mediocre, but the fixes and changes are good.

  17. I would probably take a nice long break. I've gotten both Excalibur and Nyx this weekend as well as several rare mods.

That is over 50 runs combined they would be pushing back...that would piss me off to no end.
