Those are all nice advantages but the bounty missions themselves are much more draining then standard missions due to all the moving around. You either have to spam bullet jumps from one point to the next or you have to keep getting in and out of archwing mode because of how the anti-air weapons work. The missions themselves aren't bad but the travelling around feels very rough when you're repeating bounties for extended periods of time.

I think tweaking that aspect of the Plains would improve the flow of the bounties considerably and that would reduce the fatigue you get when engaging with that particular content.

  2. All three weapons you posted are good. It comes down to personal preference, rivens and the type of mission you're running. I'll post 8 important things you should keep in mind when selecting weapons for Spores. That way you know what to look for in the future.

    1) Spores are first and foremost a debuff power. There are plenty of warframes in the game that are capable of dealing tons of damage but only Saryn can use Spores to cut everyone's health in half with minimum effort. And if that's all you want to do then you don't need any specific weapon or damage type. You only need to cast Spores and pop them consistently.

    2) The only way your weapon can increase Spore damage is if your target is under the effect of a Toxin proc when the spores are popped. Which means that if you're going for extra damage you must use either Toxin damage or Gas damage on your weapon. (the reason why Gas damage works is because it produces AoE Toxin procs)

    3) If you choose to use Toxic damage you might want a weapon that's capable of AoE damage. Otherwise you will be forced to shoot each spore individually and that can be a bit of a pain. If you choose to use Gas damage you won't have to worry about AoE because the Gas proc will do that for you automatically.

    5) This should be obvious by now but if you're going for damage make sure your weapon has high status chance. Weapon damage is important but it means nothing if your weapon can't proc Toxin.

    6) Try to use weapons that deal Toxin/Gas damage exclusively. If you use a weapon that deals multiple types of damage your chance of getting a Toxin proc is reduced.

    7) When it comes to weapon damage you can either go for weapons that deal stupid damage and shoot slowly (e.g. Plasmor) or weapons that deal small damage but pop spores at an incredible speed (e.g. Ignis). You can use balanced weapons too but the results probably won't blow your mind.

    8) Your two biggest enemies are and will always be armor and isolated enemies. Armor is bad because it kills your damage. Isolated enemies are bad because Spores deal more damage depending on the amount of targets grouped together. So make sure you always have one weapon to pop spores and another weapon to deal with that lonely Eximus enemy that can kill you with two shots.

  3. Ember and Banshee

Both these frames need improvements to their kits, not just nerfs to the few things they are actually good at. Ember has a bunch of damage powers with no synergy whatsoever and a play style that is entirely focused on World on Fire. Banshee has interesting powers but all of them preform poorly. Both frames have to rely on augments and highly specialized builds to be able to compete with what some of the more recent frames can do right out of the box. Their biggest problem is being outdated.

Here's the best conclusion I can muster atm:

Alright so after doing some digging the mechanic I was referring to earlier is that warframes with an active ability aren't granted invulnerability as a blanket rule. So based on my research and the help provided here, it's logical to assume that simply having shatter shield on prevents my plan of using the operator as a bail-out on Mesa. Having quick thinking means that my warframe doesn't actually die at 0hp, but still triggers operator death all the same.

So this means I need to ditch the idea of operator bailouts on mesa entirely. I could make an argument for not triggering operator death when quick thinking is around, but that's more a suggestion than anything else.

Makes sense I guess. I still don't understand why the two missiles didn't kick your operator at 0:22. And I don't know why the enemies were shooting at you to begin with. When I go into Void Mode all enemies stop shooting and just roam around if there are no other targets in sight. Maybe it's a solo thing.

As for the bailouts can't you simply use Mesa's 2nd power? It will give you a brief window to work with. And Void Dash to push enemies away is also a reliable option.

I was under the impression that warframes don't get damaged while in operator mode - is that false?

As far as I know the warframes are invulnerable if the operator is out. I've revived people with my operator while my warframe was sitting on all sorts of crap. Hyekka Master fire patches, Tar MOA yellow goo, flamethrowers, napalms, you name it.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that things are different depending on whether you're playing solo or not. Or maybe it's another of those host/client situations.

Your Mesa has the 3rd ability active so while youre in operator mode you have 95% or 99% damage reduction and your frame has 2 hp and gets damaged and that forces your operator to vanish back to your warframe.

But there are two missiles at 0:22 -> 0:24 that don't kill the operator. It seems like only the Nox weapons manage to do it.

  7. The Nox guys use a weapon that is similar to the Stug. It fires a ball of goo that deals continuous AoE damage and then explodes. The ball never hits your operator directly so I'm assuming there's something busted with the persistent AoE damage.

The only thing I can't really understand is why the enemies are shooting at your warframe while you're in Void Mode. In my experience as soon as you go into Void Mode the enemies stop shooting because the empty warframe is not considered a target. They will still shoot at your sentinel but you don't have one equipped and your pet is downed. So why they heck are they still shooting? Is that something that has always happened on solo?

  8. Miggy, just so you know the feedback section of the forums is for posting feedback for the developers to read. If you have advice for other players you should post that in the Players Helping Players section. If you want to, you can use the "report post" button (top right of your post) to send a message to the moderators asking them to move your thread to the appropriate section. It's your call. Either way welcome to the forums!

  9. The problem is that two of the classic "plant theme" aspects are already taken. Saryn is not a plant frame but she uses the plant aspect of poison. Oberon is also not a plant frame but he uses the aspect of "defender of the forest/druid". If you start to think about classic characters that are based on plants you'll notice most of them use either one of these two aspects or both of them.

That doesn't mean it's impossible to make a new plant warframe that feels unique but it means the task is now more difficult. And DE would probably prefer to focus on themes that are brand new because those are easier to work with.

I don't think DE is going to revisit the plant theme unless the ideas for the powers are absolutely amazing and feel different from what's already in the game.

  10. That screen shows up every time a connection cannot be established between your PC and the Warframe content servers. There are many possible reasons for that but when it happens out of the blue I usually suspect an IP block. Unfortunately, unless the problem is being caused by your own home network you're not going to be able to do much about it. You'll have to wait for it to fix itself. You can also contact Warframe Support but usually by the time they read your ticket you're already back playing the game.

I can tell you how to check if your IP is being blocked but even if that's the case there is no real fix. Let me know if you want me to explain it anyway.

  11. I don't think shader quality has a big impact but it should have at least a noticeable one. You'll need to test it to be sure.

Earth is probably the most demanding map we have at the moment. Especially if you're talking about the Plains. Lots of polygons, lots of grass and the map is huge.

  12. @(PS4)Tactless_Ninja @TARINunit9

The point of my post here was to say that DE has their own idea of what kind of game Warframe should be. And while they do listen to feedback that doesn't mean they will blindly do whatever people ask them to do. Even if there's a lot of people asking.

This thread is a month old now and I've said everything I wanted to say in the first page. With that clarified I'll be moving on.

  13. - "What were some things you wish Warframe taught you in the first 2 hours?"

Mods and polarities. I remember it took me a really long time to realize that I was supposed to match mod polarities with slot polarities. Initially I assumed that putting a mod in the "wrong" polarity would overcharge it and make it stronger.

    - "Were there some things that were too overwhelming or confusing during these first 2 hours?"

    Not back in 2013.

    - "Can you recall any points in which you or a friend weren't sure what they were supposed to be doing during the first 2 hours?"

This didn't happen to me because I had a personal goal when I started playing the game. I wanted to go all the way to Sedna and farm Saryn. And since it took me a lot more then two hours to do this I learned all I needed to know on my way there.

    - "Any other obstacles that stood out to you at the beginning of your Warframe experience, or any particular items you feel a new player would benefit from?"

I couldn't handle bosses and infested Ancients because my damage was not high enough. I kept running out of ammo. So I imagine having some ammo restore items/blueprints could be helpful. Specters could also be nice because it's not uncommon for new players to stick to solo. The problem is that Specters are very expensive and rely on your equipment to be really useful. And the system itself is not well explained.

  14. You don't have to use a specific loadout to win but certain frames are a lot more effective against Ambulas especially with radiation procs.

For example, Valkyr can become invulnerable and do massive amounts of damage to the boss. Nyx can also go invulnerable, help keep enemies busy and revive while the team focuses on Ambulas. Oberon has heal+armor and can cast Hallowed Ground to make everyone immune to radiation procs. And finally Trinity can give everyone energy as well as instant heals and damage resistance.

Any of these four warframes will make the fight a lot easier. But it doesn't mean you can only beat the boss if you use this team. It also doesn't necessarily mean that using these frames will be enough because if you get teamed with bad players they'll make poor decisions regardless.

  15. @WindigoTP

First of all, you are making several assumptions and treating them as if they were facts. So I see no reason to address any of that.

Second, if you're truly interested in my opinion about Nullifiers I wouldn't mind sharing it. But this thread is about a different topic and I don't like to derail other people's threads. So if you want to ask me something about Nullifiers you can do so by sending me a message.

  16. Just now, WindigoTP said:

Hello? The drone thingie, which you can destroy and disable the nullibuble permanently, and which affects the size of the bubble in tight spaces. Ever heard of those?

Do you really need that hostility to try to make a point?

Anyway, the drones you mentioned were added specifically to give sniper rifles a chance against nullifiers. That's the only reason why they were added. So I don't consider that to be a "drastic change". Drastic would be something that changes the enemy in a fundamental way and that is something they have never done.

  17. The devs claim the community was part of it, yes. Don't know if this forum specifically or Reddit or even both. But they also only change things in the game if they agree with the feedback posted. For example, lots of people have asked for them to remove or drastically change Nullifiers but that has never happened.

    Why do you ask?

I have already established that it does not do enough damage to be used as homing missiles, it has no CC no AOE hardly any PROC.

You can spam it to disarm enemies because of her passive. All of her other AoE powers are slower and more expensive so Psychic Bots is the best option for that.

Then comes the question "why not just use Chaos instead?". Well, you can use both. The thing about Chaos is that it doesn't stop the enemies from attacking you it just makes enemies attack everything. Enemies will still shoot at you or your teammates if you get too close. So if you want to make things safer for everyone you can use Chaos and Bolts to confuse and disarm the crowd. This only really applies to situations where your team is not vaporizing everything with guns and powers. But then again Nyx is only really good when your team can't vaporize everything.

All warframes eventually become somewhat obsolete and in need of a rework. So the real question here is this: do you like [insert warframe] enough to figure out how to make the most of their powers? Because if you don't then you should just wait for a rework and use a different warframe in the meantime. There are plenty of options.

Ok just to clarify to everyone above, i know that it is not easy to balence these things, but i also know its not imposable. Im not going to act like i know how to make a game, but i have been playing games all my life and i know what a good game needs and if i play it long enough, what in that game is needed and whats outright just not a good idea. Now im no profetional in these things, and i know im not a god of anilizing games, but i dam sure know my games.

It's not really about how easy or difficult it is to balance one specific thing. It's about having a limited number of hours and resources to spend on a giant pile of tasks that keeps growing. This is what game development is. You establish priorities and you make sacrifices. Things break or sometimes simply refuse to work and you have to deal with it. There are deadlines to be met and every hour you spend on one thing is an hour taken from something else. So "making progress" is replaced by "not falling behind too much".

As a player, you can criticize aspects of the game and propose alternatives. But you have no way of knowing if the things you propose are actually good because you're not familiar with Warframe's development. For example, do you know how many DE employees work on balancing warframe powers? Do you know which other development responsibilities these employees have? Do you know how much time they can afford to spend on balancing frames? No, you don't know any of that. So you can't possibly know if your ideas are good or not. Because when it comes to game development a great idea is not measured just by how 'good' it is. It is also measured by how 'feasible' it is.

These things shouldn't stop any player from submitting (respectable) feedback or ideas. After all, we are the experts when it comes to how fun or boring something feels. But we should never look down upon the devs just because we think we know better.
