  1. this idea is awesome, i've always wanted de to add more species to our current roster of companions so that there's some more variety and this idea just feeds into that dream so well. we also do need more companion functions than what is just provided, as you noted kurbrow are damage while sentinels are a fine mix of support and damage, where or where is our support focused companions?

really hope this concept gets taken somewhere, it'd really help the companion system flourish. (also those designs are gorgeous and i want pls)

  2. A fish emporium works in ME because the universe it takes place in is similar to how humanity lives in the real world. We have the citadel which is one giant space city filled with workplaces, homes, apartments. It works in there because it is set in grounded reality and therefore is not considered silly in any way.

But a fish emporium in Warframe just doesn't fit right. It is far too out of place for how the universe of the game is like. If it was in the relays, then I'd be fine with it because it's like a public meeting ground for both Tenno and Humans. But in our personal ships, it'd be more out of place than silly.

Yes, out of place like a magician in a tuxedo or the thing from the lagoon.

Also, I'm a little lost on what exactly the state of this games universe is to you. Do you mean the ongoing war? The span of the galaxies we travel? What in the universe makes having a fish collection so abnormal. Also why do you assume collecting fish in a tank is a strictly human practice, just because it's only been observed as done by humans and not all the alien civilizations we've never seen?

  3. I'd have to agree that I'd really dislike it if there were numerous silly additions to the liset, dojo or game in general. The game features very brutal dismemberment and you killing thousands of enemies with a whole variety of gruesome weaponry, it would undermine the entire feel of the game just for people to go, "Okay, we just killed all of the Grineer on that outpost, let's go back to the dojo and look at the fish LOLXD"

More decorations are fine, but silly or obscure things really detract from the game and aim it more towards kiddies than anyone else. This isn't toon town.

how does a nice fish display detract from the game? are you implying all people who participate in combat don't have an appreciation of life or possible interests in things that aren't murder and combat? because i'd like to tell you mass effect would like to have a word with on that regard.

also it can't possibly be more derailing than our current pirate cthulu and tuxedo magician direction the game is already going. kinda makes a fish emporium quite tame.

This. This, this, this, this, this.

Warframe drop tables are not built to support an Auction House.

    Why? Item Rarity.

If an Auction House system were put in Warframe, this is what we would see on it:

Common items (Warm Coat, Point Blank, etc) would be worth 1p.

Uncommon items (Serration, Hornet Strike, etc) would be worth 1p.

Rare items (Hell's Chamber, Ammo Mutations, Sanctuary, etc) would be worth 2 or 3p.

Discontinued Items (Ultra Rare) (Primed Chamber, Legendary Core) would be worth 500 - 10,000p.

99% of items are simply not that rare. The current system masks this by making it difficult to buy/sell items (you have to talk with the person, meet them in-game, etc). An Auction House system would flood the market with all these mods which are not truly rare.

The prices would be SO LOW, many players would probably end up just buying up everything in the game.

It would be worse than the Diablo III Auction House fiasco.

This would not only be a bad idea, but it would actually hurt new / free players the most. Yes, you could buy items on the cheap, but good luck selling that Thunderbolt mod you just found - it used to sell for 4-10p, but it (like 99% of everything else) now only sells for 1p.

    Economy Broken.

    this exactly^

people don't seem to be paying attention to the huge flaw that comes with comparing warframe to games like wow and eve, that being that these games have entirely different field of loot, one which allows games like them to be successful with auction houses. warframe however does not have that kind of item system, if auction was added to this game prices would pivot like nobodies business and trade would only become worse than it is.

  5. People need to get over how Limbo looks. He came after a PIRATE CTHULHU.

They fit within the context of the game, so it doesn't really detract from the seriousness as a whole.

sorry i tend to forget that frame even exists, but my point stays the same. it doesn't matter whether the item is made to fit into the context of the game, if something is almost ridiculously cartoonish (i.e limbo and fishframe) then i do infact take the game/plot less seriously. heck they fact these designs are meant to be canon and fit within the universe make it all the more derailing since that means it's a legitimate gauge of the game's seriousness. at least with event items and the like they aren't meant to be taken seriously from the get go.

but all in all both could be said to disrupt the more serious theme that warframe seems to preside under. so it's kind of hypocritical to say we are trying to keep out less serious event items as to not derail from the games theme but we'll also toss in almost cartoonish quality character designs into the game as permanent content.

  6. Don't buy it if you don't think it's worth it. I don't, so I don't.

If I had to guess, they're probably experimenting with ways to give us seasonal items that expire naturally, as I know they don't want to add goofy referential items that distract from the theme of the game permanently.

goofy like a tuxedo wearing magician with a top hat? not sure how serious you think de is about preserving warframe's vibe or theme or whatever, but they certainly are not thinking on the same level.
