  1. When I have multiple builds, I take them into consideration before using forma. However, I have a couple of warframe builds that have mods in the wrong polarity - with enough additional forma in the rest to make them fit. Ideal? Not at all, no. However it does the trick, and in both cases it just one out of three builds.

I have seen a lot of forma reworks fail, I no longer have hopes for it. You know you can have duplicates, right? two of the same weapon or warframe, but with different forma setup. Two many forma? Yes... I would like to have a better way to get forma.

By the way, I actually want something what you propose, but for focus lenses.

  2. Yes, I agree. And the same time: What?

The slots is a common issue for new players. I would like it if DE would give a couple more free slots to everybody. That would make it easier on new players, and some extra slots are never bad.

So, your starting platinum, use it on slots. It is the only sensible option.

On the other hand... it is slots we are talking about. They are a convinience, but won't make you weaker or stronger in game. You can and are supposed to try out different stuff and stick with what you want. Now, once you got something you do not want to let it go, I get that. Well, farm something you can sell for plat and sell it, then use the plat to buy more slots. Is this off putting?

On one side you are going to farm something that you can sell for platinum. Visit warframe.makert, it will give an idea of the prices and will help you find a buyer. On the other side, somebody else paid you platinum for the time and efford you put into farming the stuff you sold to get that platinum. They are getting a fair deal too.

Addendum: Let me expand on that...

You farm stuff. You sell stuff. However - at least when it comes to prime gear- there is stuff being vaulted and unvaulted on a regular basis. And stuff that is vaulted, is stuff that is scarse, and stuff that is scarse is stuff that you can sell for a higher price. Thus, sometimes it is better to not sell right away. Do this right and you will have excess platinum. Note: something similar applies to primed mods, as they are only available when Baro sells them. Also, have a look at wftrader.com for the riven market.

  3. @Ecliptix Hmm... well, those shards are to craft aracanes too, right? The prices can still drop. I say flood the market.

    Aside from that...

    - To focus is ok. 10k to 15k.
    - Not to wisps, it is not a good value exchange. Wisps should be cheap.
    - To forma, perhaps.

On the forma, I want to say... we already have a forma blueprint. I would welcome a way to buy it, but not a separate blueprint that uses sentient cores or shards.

  4. You can convert Eidolon Shard to focus. You go to your focus tree, and then click Focus Conversion, and there you can convert Eidolon Shard into 25k focus.

    Do you really have 350?

I agree they should be used for something else, I'm not sure if focus is the right thing however I don't disagree

Perhaps we can get an option to upgrade them, without the insane rare gem requirement for doing so...

I think you mean Sentient Cores. Of course, you should have hundreds of Sentient Cores - I have 328. That makes more sense.

All the above sound good to me:

    - Make them into focus
    - Make them into wisps
    - Make them into forma

I believe your outlet is to get arcane blueprints to craft them, and you can them sell them once built.

  5. This is what you do: Chill.

In warframe, or out side of it, this game requires patience.

This was an unfortunate timing, since as you say, support is not available during the weekends.

We do not really have figures on how long support takes on average. We only have testimonies of people saying that they opened a ticked and a few weeks went by. However, that is selection bias, because the people that get a response in a day or two usually do not take it to the forums. My support tickets always have taken two days to be resolved (they seem to be always catching up). Am I special or lucky? I don't think so. I'm not even a founder or have used real money in the game to have some false self entitlement on that. Instead, I believe I am part of a silent majority of people that get support in a couple of days and never go to the forums to complain about it.

There is another thing you need to consider: this is not a AAA company. They need more people to staff support. DE is still growing.

Now, about your chat suppension. The bot will give you a suspension for a day, a couple of days, a week, or more... usually people on their first offense will not be suspended for long. You can just wait it... you would be waiting on support anyway. I suspect the chat suspensions are not really a priority on their support system due to that fact.

  6. - Were they out of the mission, out of the game, or did the game place them in a copy on the instance?

    - Were they not given the option to reconnect or did it not work?

If they were out of the mission or the game, they should have recieved the option to reconnect. And if they said no, then that's it, they cannot reconnect. You cannot invite them and they cannot join because objetives has been completed. Their only chance was when they were asked.

If they were in a copy of the instance, they had to finish it and extract. If they aborted mission, they threw away the progress. Besides the copy of the instance is not guaranteed to give the same rewards.

If they got the option to reconnect, but it failed... that is a network poblem. Blame the ISPs.

If they were out of the mission or out of the game and did not recieve the option to reconnect, then that is on DE.

So, warframe community is different than. I understand.

A lot of players didn't care for them. I guess there were people who weren't aware because you had to go out of your way to get a key to access them...

However, there were clans that dedicated themselves to do runs every day.

And you know what? PvP has been even less popular and it is still here.

I believe there is a place for such content in warframe. For me, I barely played them (I only completed 3 runs, total, and failed 2 of them), at the time I played them finding people to play it was hard, mainly because people playing them wanted people who already know how they work... and with mechanics that were not introduced elsewhere in the game it was hard on the newcommers.

Which is why the Warframe Raid School Bus became a thing:

However, after I became aware of what they were doing, I did not join. I felt like I already tried them and had no additional motivation to play them.

I want to add that they allowed for 8 players to run, and - at least for me at the time - that came with lag.

I watched Law of Retribution and this is the missing part of the puzzle for me. I hope it will return with wider variety in a short while. This will make all players with different tastes happy, I believe.

I want them to come back, and to better than they used to be. However, I think this will take a while.

We have a lot coming soon™:

    - Excalibur Umbra and The Sacrifice Cinematic Quest
    - A new Open Area for Venus, with more Eidolons, and - probably - some new custom weapon
    - The melee rework, and the damage rework
    - New enemy types for Corpus and Grineer
    - Clan vs Clan (Dark Sectors, but not those that are in game) is coming back
    - The Kingpin system I mentioned earlier
    - And of course new Warframes (Khora) and Primes (Probably Limbo or Chroma will be next)
    - Other teased stuff: A new moa pet, A way to command pets, new weapons (long katana), the dojo obstacle course, daily tribute rework...

Look, The Wiki has list: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Upcoming_Features

Oh, @(PS4)Buyukbaba check this out: The future of Warframe!? DE Steve reveals potential awesomeness

Loot at Dogfooding/Coding Warframe! (February 19, 2017) [From 2h28m17s] instead.

  8. Yeah, raids. There are videos on youtube, you should be able to find them, there you can see how they used to work.

Addendum: Look for "Law of Retribution" and "Jordas Veredict"

Some day they will come back, hopefully better than ever. We gotta be patient. However, let us not let DE forget.

For example, some mods farmed in raids cannot be farmed in normal game, without changing character balance of course. That mod found in raids may add additional role to a character or a gun. This also helps variety of characters, weapons in the game.

    Arcanes ;)

  9. I am not looking for an idea, I asked if you have a more concrete one because I want to understand what is it you find warframe is missing.

As per the game industry, a demo goes far beyond any pitch. But that is not what we are talking about.

I get that I posted is not what you mean by cooperative, given that the example you give of cooperative gameplay in warframe are the friendship doors. For more similar mechanics the now removed raids were where they were at. They had mechanics in which players had to stay on a location to open the path for another, or where a player had to carry an item, and while doing so could not attack, required other players to defend, and stuff like that.

Eidolon hunts are perhaps what comes closer. However - at least the terralyst, can't say for the others - they can be beaten solo.

    hace 24 minutos, (PS4)Buyukbaba dijo:

Do you require certain mods, weapons, powers etc. specific to that mission other than regular character developement? I am not talking about character diversification and special character powers. For example, only an example, you cannot procees with a door if any of the players have no single tigris prime in their hands. They are stuck and something like that.

Warframe excel in allowing plenty of builds to be viable (most of the time, otherwise people will complain), which is good, because it means that there is not a single way to do stuff. Which also means it sucks at forcing you to have certain equipment...

However, this reads a lot like the dragon keys I talked about. Once you find the vault, you will not be able to open it, if none of the players have the right dragon key. Sure, they are not weapons. Instead, the gimmic is that carrying a dragon key gives an specific negative effect, depending on which one you pick. And thus, you will want a player that has a build that counter effects the negative effect or to which it is not a big deal.

    hace 24 minutos, (PS4)Buyukbaba dijo:

-Do you require certain four characters for certain missions? Example, you cannot proceed without ember, frost, loki, excalibur primes (which is very rare) in your full group? Restricted.

The more warframes are added - the more they are reworked - the less this is true. For example, Trinity was for a long time the only option for support. Now, Oberon is pretty good healer (hek, even Hydroid can heal), and Harrow can restore energy. Trinity is still queen, but she is not the only viable option. I honestly believe this is how it should be, I would find the game more boring without that diversification.

    ---

People will still build in particular ways for particular missions. Most frames has at least two approaches to build them - some have more - and people might demand a particular build from other players. And people will still talk feces of another player if they did not bring the right build or are not good at using it - Edit: It has been a long time since I last saw that, but I guess it might happen. Please report those people if you ever encounter them... I do not think Warframe would have one of the best communities if this was the norm. I do not want it to be, and I do not want the mechanics of the game to encourage it.

Nope, I just said how i felt. It is not my job, I am a customer, cutomer is the king, right?

If you have suggestions or other feedback, the developers listen. Customer is the king, right?

I will give you some examples of division of labor, perhaps it gives you some ideas:

Edit: Note that most of this is only valid for high level missions or if you want to last a long time in the mission. As I said, you can do virtually everything solo, or with a casual team, except you will be extracting much sooner.

    - In defense or mobile defense missions, we need to defend an objective and kill waves of enemies. Thus, we give a player the task of defending the objective, the classical example is a Frost with a Snow Globe (a.k.a Frost's Bubble), while another player focuses on DPS. Now, they will need energy and healing so you add a support player, and you can have a wild card fourth player.

    - In excavation, we need to collect power for the excavators, and defend them from enemies. A similar setup of that of defense will work, however there is emphasis on killing enemies. Instead you want crowd control and the wild card could be a runner that picks up power for the excavators. Another form of division of labor that will happen more often in lower levels is separating the players in two teams each one defending and feeding an excavator.

    - in sabotage, hive sabotage, spy and rescue missions, there are sections with multiple objectives (removing fuel injectors, destroying hives, hacking data vaults and opening prisioner cells, respectively) that benefit from the team splitting up, this done for speed not because of difficulty.

    - In defection missions, you need to escord npcs across enemy territory. If you want to last long, you will need a player that heals the npcs and players that kills enemies. Also the mission will force you to split in two teams as the defectors come from different points simultanously.

    - In survival - which is farm central for resources - you will want a player that boosts loot, a player that gives support to that player, another player that kills enemies, and finally a wild card that will either kill or go for live support if needed.

    - In derrelict, there are vaults that require dragon keys to open. But each player can only carry one dragon key at a time... and we do not know which key the vault will need. Thus, we need a full team, each with a different dragon key, if we want to be sure to open the vault. Now, the mission will have an objective (usually people do capture or extermination) and somebody has to complete that objective, but we also have to search the vault. So, it is not rare to split the team to do that.

Also, have a look at nightmare mode, the modifiers increase the difficulty of the mission, sometimes forcing extra cooperation... such as using support abilities or placing defenses (Frost's Bubble, Volt's Shields, Gara's Vitrify) at strategic points to be able to advance... however, I have to say, that is only useful for low level players. Most high level players will be able to do nightmare mode as if they were normal missions - even taking advantage of the modifiers.

  11. You can find some cooperative gameplay in high level. For instance if you want to last hours in defense, you will need a well tuned team. Also, the Eidolon hunts can be done much faster playing cooperatively. Ok, granted, none of that is mandatory, you can go over virtually all content playing solo. In general terms, the game is light in cooperation... it is more like division of labor.

There are warframes with plenty of cooperative support and coordination mechanics, however, the thing is, that you do not need any of that.

Warframe raids were removed recently. So you got here a bit late for that. They say they will return eventually, they want to rework them.

The clan vs clan mode was removed long ago, and it appears they will be adding a new version of that. Now, sure that sounds like PvP, however it appears it won't be, instead the clan mates will cooperate and rank up leaderboards. Although it won't be as cooperative heavy as raids used to be.

Aside from those, there is an upcoming clan "kingping system" that shows promise. Got to wait and see.

and tbh more arcanes won't help much since we can only use 1 per amp. mods are great cos we can use multiple and buff multiple stats.

Currently, you can equip a total of zero mods in the amp. How about more arcanes per amp?

    Addendum:

    hace 50 minutos, Ragingwasabi dijo:

a bunch of the mods i suggested had no equivalence in any of the current systems we have.

Sure, those mods would have to be created. Why not create them as arcanes instead? Edit: Or amp parts, perhaps.

Addendum 2: I am saying that we already have systems to affect the amp. We do not need another.

  13. I beleive the focus and amp systems were designed intentionally to not use mods.

You have plenty of ways to alter your amp combat, from focus abilities, to buiding different amps, and of course arcanes.

    So...

    giphy.gif

Addendum: Perhaps DE should add more amp arcanes.

  14. I would not focus on Health but on full Armor instead...

You can get even more Armor: Get the Stand United aura (Orphid Specter drops it), and Coaction Drift.

You can get even more Duration: Add Augur Message and Constitution.

If you some extra strength you could remove Vitality and add Blind Rage.

  15. These are some recents events (for the time of writing) - these are bug I do not report and other oddities:

    - Today, in the plains. Killed a Terralyst in the Terralyst bounty and got a Bounty Failed message, still got all the drops.
    - Two days ago, while leveling on Hydron. I heard the Terralyst scream.
    - Four days ago, on the plains, after finished a bounty objective and being directed to the next. I start going to the new objective and get an Abandoing Objective message. the message went away as soon as I reached the bounty location.
    - Six days ago, on the plains. Discovered you cannot scort a drone from a Dargyn. No matter how close to the ground you fly, the drone will not advance.

Others that are a bit older:

    - How the mining cutter can draw in the air - in particular when the Kubrow/Kavat decides pop their head in for a tattoo - and why it causes no harm.
    - How enemies sometime are outside the geometry.
    - A week ago I found a Vein that could not be mined, turns out it was a false image of another vein nearby (on the other side of the rock to be more precise)
    - I once awake my Kavat, and it had no head.
    - If you enter a continuity disturbance/void rift in lua while your warframe is ontop of a moving platform, the warframe will keep moving how it was moving when it was on the platform even when the platform is not there... if you then go to the operator, the warframe will move through geometry and leave the area.
    - Found a vein on the plains that was outsie of the barrier, could not mine it.
    - There is a patch of ground in the plains that is not solid, you fall throught.
    - I have seen fish swiming below the ground.
    - If you are quick, you can capture a fish right after throwing luminous dye, the fish will be glowing while the warframe holds it.
    - In some invasion missions, there is a barrier that you need to remove to pass, this is done hacking a console... but you can jump high enough to reach a path that should take you to the other side... except there an invisible wall there.
    - I, on the plains, once threw bait to the water but it didn't stay on the surface of the water, instead it kept falling.
    - I found a somachord fragment that was below the ground, could not scan it.

Some bugs that has been reported but not exactly fixed: The finisher pushing you below the ground, and the map getting erased.

I am sure there is more stuff, these are just the recent ones... I have recording of most of them, I'm just to lazy to edit them.

  16. Because it takes work to do that, it takes years of art and programming development work.

DE intends to create open areas for other planets, and they created a demo of flying around - in space - in a ship. But where is that? In the future, most likely years in the future, and will be released steadily... and while they juggle fixing bugs. Be patient.

Addendum: I remind you that Warframe is a five years old free to play game. And you, newcomer, get to experience the fruit of those five years of work. Again, for free. Just imagine how Warframe could be in five more years. Oh, it won't be one open area per five years, the first one always takes longer, also that is not the only thing they have done in that time.

  17. @IEpicWolfI the first appearance of Nyarlathotep (the eponimous poem) is under public domain, just as any work prior to 1923. See Copyright Term and the Public Domain in the United States (the poem was published in U.S.A).

@(PS4)alvian00 the warframe wiki speculates on Yog-Sothoth:

    Cita
    • The Man in The Wall may be inspired by Yog-Sothoth, an entity from the Cthulhu Mythos. Yog-Sothoth is described as an uncaring observer that exists across all of time and space, yet is locked out of our universe for reasons unknown, much like The Man in The Wall's association with the Void and its (initial) inability to influence the physical plane.

Warframe has its own lore, regardless if some of the work of Lovecraft is on public domain. They might have taken some inspirations, and even if that is true, I doubt they'll use the name.
