  1. I already love my Kubrow. I'd rather see some of their main issues fixed (excessive maintenance, timegating, inability to have more than one available at a time, tendency to play fetch with your explosives), but giving them a non-breed-exclusive Fetch mod would be wonderful. Something that pulls items to the Kubrow in a small range, and then they bring it to you or just simply hold them until you happen to run into them, perhaps. Which would make for some fun just-like-real-life situations where you try to get something out of your dog's mouth and they see it as a game of keepaway and prance about and wag their tail and it'd be so frustratingly adorable. :D

Of course, such changes could put Kubrows firmly ahead of Sentinels depending on who you ask... But Sentinels have their own problems that need fixing, most prominent of which being their fragility and the relative permanence of their death.

  2. I know Torid is a fantastic weapon for taking on Nullifiers without being out of the Rift for too long; one shot and you've got a cloud that'll eat away at the bubble until they're dead, you're only out of the Rift for a split second.

Unfortunately, my primary slot might be going to a different weapon, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any melee weapons that can minimize Rift downtime short of flying straight into the bubble to kill the Nullifier outright. Lastly, I can't possibly abandon my precious Kubrow, so I can't have a Sentinel do the work. (Unfortunately, the Kubrow's part of the reason I need a good way to combat Nullifiers; when she runs in and goes down, I need to be able to save her. But at least she actually stays alive elsewhere, as opposed to a Sentinel.)

So, that leaves a secondary weapon. It'd be wonderful to emulate the Torid as far as the one-shot-whittler approach goes, though I'm not sure any secondaries have that functionality. The only one I think might have that is the Stug, given that I hear it has a constant DoT on undetonated blobs. Does anyone have experience with that? Can it flick the shield away little by little like the Torid can? If not, what else might permit me to hide away in my Plane of Cowardice?

  3. Ranged abilities doesn't stop Valkyr who is invincible to all damage, ranged attacks doesn't stop Limbo and Rift Walk. Ranged Attacks doesn't stop Hydroid and his puddle. That's why we need a Wipe ability.

Valkyr gets limited to melee, Limbo can't actually hurt anything without ridiculous juggling that can easily do more harm than good, and Hydroid is made stationary with negligible damage.

And regardless, extravagant Warframe abilities are what make this game. If you want to play a game where your powers and customization choices mean jack-diddly-squat, there are plenty of other game choices out there. I'd mention some, but someone might take offense at me insulting a game they like, and I'd rather not drag the thread off-track.

Some high-damage abilities that make the boss dangerous, I absolutely agree with. But not outright instant-kill-no-matter-what mechanics that severely hamper the gameplay experience for anyone that doesn't play a certain way, such as building exclusively for damage output. (I can see the recruitment messages now. "LFG > Raid, ROAR RHINO/DAMAGE NOVA AND SYNOID GAMMACOR/SOMA PRIME ONLY." Or whatever the highest-damage weapons are now, I don't give a rat's backside about the pure damage approach.)

  4. I don't get why skinny Kubrows are so despised. I love my gangly girl, she looks so friendly. :(

I had a skinny Lotus-pattern Huras Kubrow imprint pair, basic grey and brown colors, and it was an incredible hassle to find a buyer. I eventually had to settle for 50 Platinum. Given that yours has more contrasting colors, plus the fact that people like a LOT of junk in the trunk (apparently), 50 Platinum would likely be way undershooting. But, that's my experience with it, for however much it's worth.

  5. The Redeemer would be all-out damage-modded, the only non-contributors being Fury and possibly Life Strike. (I know Life Strike eats your energy 10 times over due to Redeemer's pellets.)

I'm using Limbo and a Corrosive/Blast status-heavy Torid. The secondary is as-of-yet undetermined, I need to decide if I need to go with a damage secondary or if I can go with utility. Due to using Limbo, the wind-up time of Redeemer isn't an issue except in the case of killing enough enemies in Survival to keep the life support flowing. The knockdown of Banish also helps to set up for Redeemer's potent ground finisher, which is further boosted by Rift Surge.

I'm mainly wondering if it's something that could carry me to the 40-minute mark of Survival, alongside an average team.

  6. I adore Limbo's Noble animations with throwing weapons and dual pistols, but more and more, I find myself drawn to single pistol weapons in regards to actual functionality. The Idle Animations Wiki page seems rather incomplete, so I'd like to ask here: which animation sets make interesting use of single pistols? By that I mean, animations that go beyond the boring "any enemies to my left nope how about to my right nope all clear alright then" setups that seem to plague so many animation sets.

Bonus points if they're also interesting with rifles. :P

  7. Just like the weapons did.

Making the syandanas tradable would be a MASSIVE mistake.

Pick an alliance and follow it, thats where you get to show off your achievements and exclusivity.

Now if only I'd known Steel Meridian was going to be getting such a badass item.

  8. If you're looking to have one frame that you can use for everything, you'll probably be wanting Nyx or Zephyr. Valkyr and Ash can have issues with Defense-style objectives. They're arguably better at surviving in general, but Nyx and Zephyr don't fall short in survival capability as much as Valkyr and Ash fall short in defending capability.

Of course, any frame played well is capable of clearing any of the non-hideously-scaled missions available, but Nyx and Zephyr have an easier time all-around, in my experience.

  9. I'm going to plop myself down in the middle and say that, while you certainly should not judge all users of a Warframe for the actions of a couple idiots/trolls... Limbo is indeed set up in such a way as to be FAR more capable of trolling than most other Warframes. With pickup denial, the ability to give enemies invincibility, and the potential to COMPLETELY prevent the completion of any mission involving a Datamass, he's absolutely the most cringe-inducing Warframe in the game. Awesome as he can be, he desperately needs developer attention so as to prevent these malicious actions from being available to less-than-pleasant players.

  10. Has anyone suggested the idea of if you tap Limbo's banish to only hit one target and hold it down to become multi-target (3-5 targets at a time). When holding it down and aiming at the ground it could show a ghost circle so you dont have to guess how far it will grab to banish the group.

I'm sure it appears somewhere in this big ol' thread. X) I like the notion of making it into a beam, visually similar to the Gammacor, which can only toggle a target's Rift state once per button press, but that can be held for as long as desired, with a gradual energy drain. This'd allow for AoE Banishing without wrecking the finesse of the current skill. Additionally, with a gradual energy drain, it'd (most likely) take care of the problem of the cost being too high to feasibly pick off enemies one at a time.

  11. So, Castanas have some of the most unique functionality of the available secondary weapons... Not that it necessarily translates to usefulness, but surely, there are SOME handy tricks available with them. What kinds of tricks do you utilize with them?

Myself, the main use I get from them is with Limbo, planting them while within the Rift and then triggering a Cataclysm for a split second to detonate them for a relatively safe AoE attack.

They also come in handy when dealing with the magnet hives in Hive missions; rig up the Hive to explode, deal with the rest of the level, and then detonate when you're done so that you don't have to deal with the invisible screw-you bubbles throughout the whole mission.

What other tricks might there be? How do you use these fun little clawbombs? And how do you mod them? As much damage as possible per bomb, or multishot to get them all out quickly? Do you use them enough to need an Ammo Mutation on them? How do they synergize with your primary weapon, whatever that may be? Or your melee, or your Warframe? FILL ME WITH KNOWLEDGE.

  12. I reallyreallyreally want to use Limbo, but it seems like Loki outmatches him in every situation. ( But then, who DOESN'T Loki outmatch? He feels so overpowered to me. D: )

I like being able to do every game mode without changing up my loadouts. Limbo's pretty good with that, but Loki's just-... Better, both in experience and in theory.

Assassination: Limbo has to put himself in danger to attack the boss, Loki doesn't. Loki can also distract the boss with Decoy and irradiated enemies.

Capture: Limbo has to put himself in danger to attack the Capture target (though this downside is dampened by my Huras Kubrow, allowing me to set up a big spike attack), whereas Loki can just get right to it while practically invincible. One minor benefit Limbo has over Loki here is that I don't have to wait for Invisibility to wear off in order to ensure I have the five seconds needed for the actual capture animation.

Deception: Limbo can't carry the Datamass while using their invincibility power, while Loki can.

Exterminate: Loki can easily attack enemies while invincible, whereas Limbo has to set up each kill/group-of-kills against enemies that know of his presence, greatly extending the amount of time needed to get through the mission.

Hijack: I actually haven't noticed a huge difference in effectiveness between the two in this mission type, each have their benefits. Limbo is able to engulf the target in a Cataclysm, Loki is-... Loki. He can disarm everyone, and give a different target to chase.

Hive: Limbo SORTA comes out on top in this one, but only just barely, and only if you make a mistake. Loki's a little more unforgiving in this one in that you certainly do not want Invisibility running out at the wrong time (plus the Irradiating Disarm glitch), whereas Limbo has more control over when he renews Rift Walk.

Interception: This one is also pretty evenly matched, in my experience. Limbo is built for dealing with key targets such as those running up to the panels, and Loki is-... Loki.

Rescue: Each have their tricks in this mode, but I feel Loki comes out on top. Limbo can Banish the target, but has no built-in way to avoid setting off the Wardens. Loki can take out the Wardens with ease, and doesn't need to be able to Banish the target as it's usually possible to just leave them behind altogether in the safety of the prison area. Even when they do manage to find you, it's easy to keep them alive and/or revive them because Loki is-... Loki. On top of that, in Rescue missions against Infestation, Loki can Decoy/Switch Teleport past any troublesome lasers, whereas you have to do it the old-fashioned way with Limbo, putting yourself at the mercy of sticky controls that decide you wanted to do a little bunny hop instead of diving through the middle of the lightshow.

Sabotage: Loki can break the targets without coming out of his invincibility mode. Limbo can't, not even with Cataclysm.

Spy: Limbo can't carry Datamasses while Rift'd.

Survival: Loki has an easier time keeping the Life Support Minipacks flowing, while each one has pretty similar degrees of survivability.

Defense/Mobile Defense/Excavation: These are where Limbo seems to actually come out on top, though I say this largely because I actually have experience in these mods with Limbo, whereas I haven't really tested Loki in the harder ones. Cataclysm is a very potent objective-defending tool, to be certain. No range limit, unlike Disarm, so it's more forgiving when it comes to snipe-happy little buggers at their spawn points across the map. But, if testing proves that Radial Disarm is adequate, then-... That's yet more points to Loki. He can carry the mission objects in Mobile Defense and Excavation, while Limbo can't.

Nullifiers: Limbo doesn't really have any way of dealing with these guys while maintaining invincibility, whereas Loki can do whatever he darn well pleases because-... He's Loki.

Reviving allies: Limbo comes out on top, here, just because he can't be smacked by attacks meant for the downed player's Sentinel.

Reaching Extraction: In rare instances, primarily in Survival, where enemies have gotten too powerful to make it to Extraction, Limbo can help his teammates make the journey via Banish. But, this is a pretty rare situation, and Loki is still plenty helpful with Radial/Irradiating Disarm.

Spawning in stupid out-of-bounds locations: Limbo can't do anything about this. Loki, often, can Decoy/Switch Teleport his way out of the walls/ceilings when the game gets screwy. This actually happens obnoxiously frequently. If a /stuck command comes into play someday, this'll maybe stop being an issue, but as it stands, it IS one of the things that makes it hard for me to choose Limbo (or any other frame, for that matter, aside from potentially Ash/Nova, but they don't do the other things I want).

Codex-filling: Even here, Loki can be invincible while Limbo cannot.

Reasons I want to use Limbo: His appearance and animations are SOOO COOOOOL. :( And also, my friend likes Loki, and I don't like using the same character as others in my team.

So... Yeah. It all seems pretty heavily tilted in Loki's favor, but I so badly want to use Limbo... Is there anything I haven't considered, on either side? Are there any weapon/companion choices that would cover Limbo's weaknesses? I currently use a Huras Kubrow for the stealth, which helps a good deal with Datamass stuff and Warden-killing. I also have Castanas, which I can set up while Riftwalking and then quickly Cataclysm>Detonate>Cataclysm for a relatively safe AoE attack, but that still takes a lot of setup and hits in a rather small area.

I'd also rather not utilize glitches that may or may not be patched someday, such as the continuous-fire-weapon-from-Huras-stealth glitch. I'm just so conflicted. :(

  13. I'm not going to take a side one way or the other on Nullifiers, but reading the original post, I have to ask: What's REAL difficulty? I see this "artificial difficulty" term flung about all over the blasted place, be it on this game or any other, and I have to wonder if real difficulty actually exists or not.

  14. To my understanding, there was a "Community Hot Topics" thread quite a long while ago that asked about the Silva & Aegis weapon being changed to better reflect the fact that the weapon set includes a shield. As it stands, the stamina consumption for blocking is HIGHER than most other weapons available.

Will there be any Silva & Aegis changes that make it a more defense-oriented weapon?

  15. Dual Swords have a 100% Status Chance on Ground Finishers too. ;)

Hm, I only have Dual Cleavers available for testing that, but it doesn't seem to trigger the elements I put on there when doing a Ground Finisher. What's helpful with Silva & Aegis' finisher is that it triggers the damage type you specifically add to it. :P So, I use it for Gas. But, ultimately, it's just a minor gimmick that isn't really enough to bring it up to the level of other weapons. It still needs to incorporate that shield somehow. X) Would still be a gimmick, but hopefully a useful one.

  16. if i can't Shield Bash on queue, i'll never be interested in a Sword and Shield combo.

because unless i can actually use the Shield (blocking with heavily reduced Stamina consumption, Shield Bashing, Shield Charging, Et Cetera), such a combo will not have any combat purpose and will only hamper the player rather than help them.

I think you mean cue, not queue. :P Queue would be something like queuing it up to take place in the middle of a combo, which is already somewhat how it works. Cue would be an immediate bash with one input.

Regardless, I certainly agree with the sentiment. It's supposedly a sword and shield weapon, but the shield is hardly featured in any of its functionality. It's simply there to look pretty while the sword does all of the actual work (and fails pretty spectacularly at it). The only use I've found for it thus far is utilizing its guaranteed downed-finisher status proc to spread Gas while I'm Riftwalking as Limbo. And that's just not terribly effective with how little damage it ends up doing.
