Gaze chamber not considered beam weapon

Currently the Gaze chamber cannot use the beam-weapon-specific Ruinous Extension mod.
It can, however, equip Lethal Momentum, despite not being a projectile weapon.
Making my kitgun fire an energy beam at 140% the speed of light doesn't sound too healthy either.
Edit: After testing, Lethal Momentum does not affect the range in any way, I have a range of 40 meters both with and without it equipped.34e6ssp.jpg
