Very fun, but not unflawed.

Myself and others have found using the Tactical Intrinsic tree unusable, and now I'm hearing about lost loot due to a Refining mechanic requirement before extraction.

You're comparing a bug to a (tedious) game mechanic, which can actually reward extra loot at rank 7 in engineering

Is pressing a button that problematic?

The real problem about this mechanic is that DE is short on words as usual and didn't specify clearly enough how it works.

That's exactly my point. The patch notes didn't explain where you find these options, and the game isn't doing a good job of explaining it so there's a lot of players that haven't found them to press "a button" in the first place.
