gunblades intial attack key?

On the default setup its like ...

middle mouse will do nothing if you have a primary up

if you press E this will perform a gunblade shot

after that middle mouse will also perform a shot.

my question! is pressing "E" the same heavy attack as pressing middle mouse when the blades are already drawn? (mostly wondering because E is the more natural feeling button)

I suppose E is your key for Melee and Middle mouse for Heavy attack (I changed mine long ago)? Then it's normal.
- Heavy attack can only work if your melee weapon is drawn.
- Gunblade combos may mix shots and physical attacks. All combos use the Melee key.
- Both Gunblade stances have combos beginning with a shot. One of them may be the default when no stance is used.

I feared it worked that way, I was hoping that E was jsut casting the heavy attack so I didn't have to press E followed by a second key as it felt clunky, though I tried rebinding it to mouse 5 in hopes it feels better

one other thing that is confusing me, is X an unwritten rule for reload ? X is seeming to reload even though in the UI its listed only as use with only R listed as reload
