Vauban Ballista collapsing into vortex

Since when has Valbuan's ballista collapse into a vortex in the last 1sec to 0.5s with out throwing another one or anything it does it on its own.  It's made unlocking the riven where defense object cant take dmg and has to be done solo feel like it is impossible. when the vortex will pull stuff out of the next ballista makes it feel impossible.  side note when can we get that riven changed OMG.

Bastille turning into Vortex for a few seconds when the duration runs out has been a thing since day 1 of the rework. It's not new at all.

FWIW, I've mostly used Frost (on Sedna) for those, full ranged protection and high Range & Eff for quick nuking = easy Riven.

Though TBH, still not entirely sure what keeps Vauban from being good for this on your end.
Even if enemies get pulled around by (a short auto) Vortex against your will, they're still CC'd and can't attack,
and if you place a Bastille within range, they should continue to stay CC'd when the Vortex ends.

What exactly allows the enemies to attack the Cryopod?
Do you not have enough Range / Efficiency to easily cover large portions of the map?
Are you maybe using an Infested Defense? You gotta be careful about Ancients there, they love to reduce / negate CC effects.

Them staying CC'd then seems to be the issue they are getting pulled in and while they are bouncing around I get the riven failed message that it took dmg.

What kind of enemies are you facing? Where / how did you place your Bastilles?

If there's, say, a Toxic Ancient swirling in a Vortex right above the Cryopod, that'll do,
the Toxin aura will deal damage even while the enemy is incapacitated.

Or for an even more common enemy, a Volatile Runner dying too close to the pod will also damage it.
