More Arbitration Drone Types

The Idea

Drawing inspiration from @Genitive mentioning that more drones could be a nice addition to arbitration

More drone types i think could help arbitration become a much more fun gamemode. As of right now, every drone only prevents players from intereacting with enemies which can get a little dull too quickly. So i wanted throw out a few ideas that could spice things up a bit

3 types of drone Ideas

Combative Drones

- Offensive Drone (common spawn)

This type of drone can give buff enemies with 50% more speed and 50% more damage, while trading damage invulnerability for 50% damage reduction. Enemies affected by this drone emit a gold glow instead of red. 

-  Teleportation Drone (Rare Spawn)

This drone has the capability of teleporting itself and a group of enemies to any grounded player's location, all around the player. Enemies will typically consist of melee units. The chances of this drone spawning in increases when a player isnt moving away from a 25m area of their last position for a while.

- Priority Drone (Rare Spawn)

This drone amps the damage and damage reduction of enemies by 100% and 90% respectively against the player getting the most kills. It will also cause enemies affected to target the player over others, while also trying to stay within range of the top damage player. These drones and enemies affected will however, take 20% increased damage from other players. The drone is capable of spawning with an inverse effect as well, selecting the lowest kills player and only taking increased damage from that player. (Enemies effected by this drone have red smoke coming off of them.)

 

Weaknesses

3 Examples:

- Players using Snipers

Snipers would deal up to 500% more damage to drones than any other weapon would (or a value that ensures that snipers deal the highest DPS to drones)

- Headshots

Players can bypass damage reduction types of drones through headshots (weapons and abilities that can make a weapon automatically get headshots wont count)

- Heavy Attacks

Heavy attacks on a drone affected enemy, with a combo counter above 50, will cause the drone to go offline temporarily.

 

Reward Drones

-   Vitus Essence Drone (Uncommon Spawn)

A fast moving drone with a 20 second lifespan. If taken out, its gaurnteed to drop Vitus Essence

- Health & Energy Drone

Spawns every 1 to 2 minutes. Its cloaked but visible through some light distortion. It goes around healing its nearby allies. Players with good enough eyesight or see the pulse it sends out to heal allies can identify its location to destroy it, replenishing all health and energy to themself and nearby allies.

- Shield Drone

A drone that usually places down a shield infront of its allies but can be disabled and picked up to protect the player for 10 seconds, making them invulnerable to damage from the front.

More drones (within reason for keeping things immediately visually distinguishable) is definitely a better way to go.

The current Arbi Drone is just 'perfect guard', and perfect guard is not engaging. It's target prioritisation in the worst possible way: binary YES and NO of effect and obligation to target simply depending on whether it's there or not.

 

Same goes for Nullifiers, really. These over-loaded influences need to be split into multiple units with effects that differ enough that player A might not have the same priority of kill order as player B due to their playstyle/kit differences.

If it's spread over multiple units, even if they stack together to create the current effect, the player priority still matters based on which they'll want to kill first to start freeing up their options.
