Infested Lich - Kaiju idea.

Infested lich idea: Kaiju

Lore

For this concept we will use Arlo, the main antagonist from the 2nd nightwave series: the emissary.

- Arlo is trying to grow the infestation by invading the other planets. Players must fight off the infestation by enlisting in invasion mission to stop them.

Acquisition 

- To initialize the infested lich system players must be in an infested invasion mission. Here a story pop-up will appear that will indicate to the player an infested zealot is lurking the map. From there the player has to hunt the zealot. If the player chooses to mercy kill the zealot, then the infested lich is activated... pretty much like the current system.

*Devotee- these characters will appear like Devotees first appeared in nightwave.

The lich

Appearance - The lich will appear to the player as a heavily infested version of the warframe the player used to kill the Devotee. The lich weapon will utilize the same Lich/Progenitor system currently in place. Below is a very rough idea of what an infested lich could look like - many of the liches or sisters, even the stalker acolytes possess feature (head or body) that illustrates what warframe they are based off.

Zealots - much like the grinner liches thralls, the infested will utilize the zealots from Nightwave series 2 that players must kill to decipher the Requiem.

Final form.

Once a player figures out the requiems needed to kill the lich. The lich will retreat, and the player must then hunt them down in a railjack mission.

In order to fight the lich, you must battle a jordas golem using your archwing or railjack.  Once defeated you will be able to gain access inside the ship. Inside players will encounter their liches but they have transformed into a Lephantis-like or Hemocyte creatures.

The killing blow

Once defeated the lich will devolve back to its humanoid zealot/frame form. Where the player chooses to either convert or kill the lich for the final time.

My thoughts.

First, I chose Arlo as we never truly faced off with them in the nightwave series. Additionally, it would be logical for their cult is attempting to spread the virus by going into territories undetected only to erupt in chaos.

Second, why invasion mission? From a story perspective the infested are constant trying to invade new worlds to spread the virus and an infested devotee would be the one to lead the charge or continue that outbreak. Also, invasions do not seem as relevant anymore since we have most of the event weapons/better weapons have appeared.

Third, the monstrous transformation. The idea of an infested lich mutating into something gigantic and horrific is really cool to me; it would differentiate the infested from the other faction liches and provide a monster hunter vibe to the game with players fighting a variety of giant bosses/monsters. Even though I placed the railjack as the final lich fight, this fight can easily take place in a landscape map like the pains of eidolon, orb valis, or the cambion drift. Perhaps a unique procedurally generated landscape map like those in the Dauntless; for this landscape map idea though a scenario like plague star, would be more appropriate. Where once a player defeats one kaiju another meteorite hits the landscape and spawns the next infested lich until all liches are destroyed.

Warframe Idea:

Vulcan

The weaponsmith and master of the forge.

Lore

Deep in the molten mines of Mercury, Vulcan was tasked to protect the miners in the first sentient war. Well-armed he performed his duties with relative ease demolishing waves of sentients ensure everyone escaped before the mines collapsed upon him.

Acquisition idea: TBD

Stats

Height: 4 ft 5 in or 1.37 meters - yes, he is the dwarf-warframe

Health: 150 – 300 MR30

Armor: 225 – 450 MR30

Shield: 200 – 400 MR30

Power: 0

Speed: 0.90 – 1.8 MR30

Abilities

Passive – Enemies have an increased chance to drop ammo pick-ups. Excess ammo is stored in Vulcan's salvage bin. Vulcan's abilities consume salvage from his salvage bin instead of energy.

1. Sworn Protector - Vulcan strengthens and redirects his shield as a wall in front of him. This ability limits Vulcan to only using secondary weapons.

  • Drain: 0

2. Volatile Cocktail – fuse some of your ammunition for your ammo reserves into a grenade and toss it at enemies. The longer you hold the ability the more ammo Vulcan consumes. While holding the grenade, use the alt fire to throw it.

  • Drain: 1 stack initial activation, 1 stack per second held. 
  • Strength: 100-300 blast damage, 150/275/300/400 puncture damage
  • Duration: N/A
  • Range: 5/6/7/8-meter explosion radius, 6/8/9/10-meter shrapnel radius.
  • MISC: Each round of ammunition consumed raises VC damage by 1%.

3. Forge Master - Hold to reinforce allies or press to resupply allies.

  • Drain: 3 stacks of salvage

Armorer - reinforce allies with added armor

  • Strength 500/650/800/1000 (base health)
  • 1.15x/1.25x/1.75x/2.50 (armor multiplier

Weaponsmith - resupply and strength projectile damage output

  • 25/50/75/100% (ammo restoration)
  • ? % (critical damage multiplier)
  • Duration: 10/15/20/25s

4. The Big Gun - Vulcan summons his arch-gun. This arch-gun consumes salvage per shot.

  • Drain: 5 stacks of salvage

Mars Landscape Tileset Concept

 

Tile-set type: Desert landscape mission. This map is an open like Plains of Eidolon or Orb Vallis, however it is smaller in terms of scale and no fishing, mining, conversation, or bounties. This map will focus on the principal mission like normal missions but allow player to utilize their k-drives, archwings and Necromechs.

Mission type – Assault

Mission enemies: Grineer

Mission Premise: The Grineer have built large desert roamers (visual – think rail jack size tusk thumpers) to extract Kuva or harvest the planet’s core.  Tenno must find a way to board and destroy.

Mission Description:

The mission starts with Tenno on a rocking cliff side, and they can either archwing or k-drive in search of the roamer. Touching the sand may cause desert skates to appear.

Once the Tenno find the roam, they must disable its shields and tracks via nodes. Once the roamer is stopped, they can then board the vehicle and destroy its reactor core.

Once the sabotage is complete Tenno then fly or ride off to extraction.

Tyche – Corpus City

 

Name: Tyche - Corpus city

Visual Setting: corpus-inspired cyberpunk city

Location: Triton (moon)

Location Premise: The corpus city, Tyche, was taken over by the events of the new war. Perrin Sequence managed to defend off Narmer during the siege rallying as many refugees as possible to their main base: Perrin Prime. Since the fall of Ballas, Narmer still maintains a hold of Tyche and it is only with the help of the Tenno will it be set free.

Enemy faction: Narmer

Tyche layout

The corpus city is divided into three separate districts:

·       Ponos district (low level missions)

·       Merx district (mid-level missions) -unlocks at rep rank 2.

·       Khrysos district (high level missions) - unlocks at rep rank 4.

Each district is contained in their own separate landscape map node and accessible from the player/mission hub via 3 different railways systems.

Player/Mission hub - Perrin Prime is the main base of operations of the Perrin sequence syndicate and their attempts to disrupt the Corpus board of directors and chairman Frohd Bek. Perrin Prime now doubles as a refugee camp due to the events of the new war.

Bounty types

·       Spy

·       Rescue

·       Orphix

·       Sabotage

·       Exterminate

·       Supply run (hijack mission)

·       Evacuation (defection) - This mission you need to free a group of 5 refugees from one end of the city to another through a series of check points.

Elite bounties

·       Strike missions - end game mission for the Triton zone. Each district has its own mission. These will be one long mission series that start with the Tenno breaking into the sentient watchtower and ends with an assassination mission of a random archon. Like the lich boss fight, the number of archons will increase the more players there are in a squad.

Quests

There are 3 main story quests that will lead the Tenno thru Tyche. The first available thru Ergo Glast (aligned or not) and the other two in Perrin Prime using reputation currency. Each quest runs the Tenno thru the different districts.

Farming

·       Fishing - like Orb Vallis, Tyche has servos all over the place from fish to birds to rats.

·       Mining - there are no mining despots in the city of Tyche however Perrin Prime could still use any material that can be salvaged from any vehicle or ruin remains.

·       Conservation – Believe it or not, some Corpus citizens had non-robot pets but were left behind or lost during the Narmer siege of the city. Catch these creatures quickly before they starve in the streets

Quick Summary

Therian does not use energy to activate abilities, like Lavos his abilities have cooldowns, however, unlike Lavos and other frames, most of Therian's abilities are based on which kubrow mods he equips in his battle upgrade menu.

Abilities

Passive (Beast within) – Therian transforms into his Kubrow when he performs a roll, sidespring or backspring. Therian can remain in this form indefinitely and can revert to his humanoid form by performing the maneuvers again. Therian will receive a 40٪ speed buff for 3 seconds. This ability has a 7 second cooldown.

 

Active Abilities:

 

1. Hunting Senses (can be subsumed)- reveal nearby enemy locations and loot cache. Enemies marked by animal sense have an increased chance of dropping extra loot when killed.
•    Cooldown - 5s
•    Duration- 8/10/15/20s
•    Range - 15/20/25/30m
•    Misc. - ability will need to be reapplied to detect new enemies.

2. Defense mod - below is a listing of possible kubrow/hound mods

  • Stalk - Huras - The kubrow cloaks itself and its master to stalk down its prey when they are within 24m. Broken by running or attacking.
  • Endoparasitic Vector - Pharaoh - Transmit an endoparasite to an enemy within 30m. Tentacles spawn from it, clinging to enemies within 5m slowing them as they move further from the parasite, and dealing 20 Viral Damage/sec over 5s.
  • Iatric Mycelium - Vizier - Release a trail of spores every 8s that heal the companion and its allies for 300 health over 5s.
  • Reflex denial - hound - Generates a shield that reflects 90% Damage taken in pulses over 10s as Magnetic Damage in a 12m radius.
  • Diversified denial- hound - Fabricates 3 Specters that fight for 30s that each deal 85% of the Hounds damage.
  • Evasive denial- hound - Teleports a safe distance away and engages a displacement field gaining 75% chance to dodge enemy fire for 8s.

3. Offense mod - below is a listing of possible kubrow/hound mods

  • Hunt - Huras - The kubrow charges ahead to attack an enemy, dealing 160 Damage to all in its path.
  • Proboscis - Helminth charger - Helminth Charger whips a proboscis out at an enemy within 30m, pulling them back and dealing 100 damage.
  • Acidic Spittle - Vizier - Every 5s spit acidic tar at an enemy within 30m, blinding them for 12s and dealing 120 Corrosive Damage.
  • Anabolic Pollination - Pharaoh - Release a cloud of spores that persists for 6s increasing Toxin Damage by +100%.
  • Aerial prospectus - hound - Launches a beacon at an enemy within 27m that calls down an Orbital Strike dealing 1200 Blast Damage in a 7m radius.
  • Focused prospectus - hound - Fires a beam of energy that deals 900 Heat Damage over 4.5s.
  • Synergized Prospectus - hound - Fires a spark that seeks out the nearest enemy in 30m, dealing 300 Electricity Damage in a 10m radius. The spark ricochets up to 7x, seeking out the nearest enemy in 30m.
     

4. Super mod - below is a listing of possible kubrow/hound mods

  • Null audit - Hound Precept - Negates the aura and abilities on an Eximus enemy and transfers the aura to the Hound for 60s.
  • Repo audit - hound precept- Emits a magnetic pulse that disarms enemies within 30m.
  • Equilibrium audit - hound precept - Unleashes a series of shockwaves that knockdown enemies within 15m and deal 300 damage.
  • Paralytic Spores - Medjay - Charge an enemy within 30m dealing 160 damage and releasing spores that stun enemies within 16m for 3s, leaving them open to Finisher Attacks
  • Howl - Rakas - The kubrow cries out with a blood-curdling howl that strikes fear into 15 enemies within 24m for 16s.

Kubrow Controls

In beast mode, Therian loses access to his equipped weapons and attacks with his kubrow teeth & claws. Holding the zoom/block button will allow Therian to lock or focus on a target while aiming/crouch and attacking lets you lunge at a target.

Yep saw the drawing its killer. I have reworked the abilities of my idea abit but still using ammo as a resource.

Suddenly thought of, for the Vulcan weave a backstory (may need some modification and expansion).

Vulcan sad past...

Even before he was transformed into Warframe, he was still addicted to the so-called great fantasy, until the cold instrument bound him…
