Why not make companion dummies that work like the cleaner machines that wander around the ship? Sound effects for all the companions are already in game. Pathing is already setup for the cleaners. Just leave it so only the active companion is the only one you can interact with. I wanna be the crazy pet guy who has his orbiter full of puppers and kitties.
