Temragon
In game, "o_O" / "o.O" alias to "", which should be (and looks like) "O_O". "o_O" literally looks like ":suspicion:". This conveys alarm instead of mild confusion. Similarly, :D maps to "" when ":satisfied:" matches more closely. This conveys outright hilarity instead of amicable positivity - making fun of someone instead of rolling with a mistake. :| maps to ":awkward:" when ":expressionless:" exists. This wrongly conveys strong anxiety/frustration instead of mild annoyance. Every time I use these it conveys totally the wrong meaning. I've been using emotes since AIM and haven't had such weird matchups! There's already appropriate icons for them. I guess it'd be hard to change them at this point for people who have gotten used to them, but ugh, every time I use them it communicates the wrong thing.
