Threads merged?

For once not getting into the debate, I would like to know why my basic topic ends up "merging" to another? Strange....

I’d be very interested if anyone had an explanation...

The moderators seem like they've been more active merging topics lately.  I posted my concerns about it in this thread a couple of hours ago and then /reported it to get their attention.  I haven't gotten a response yet.  Although I know a moderator has seen it, because the post got deleted. :P
