(Random Pondering) What I believe to be the inspirations for Skeg

Skeg.  The signature sound of the Ventkids.  The sound that keeps Fortuna awake every night-cycle.

What is Skeg?  It's part of the genre of "Found Object" music ("Null Unit" linked below) where the music comes from mixed objects found laying around that're used in unconventional ways.  While I do wonder what the inspiration for the signature Ventkid sound is, I have a few ideas.  Namely two IRL "Found Object" musician groups known for their rather unique sound and distinctive/iconic performances: STOMP and Blue Man Group.  Linked below are the STOMP Out Loud HBO special and Blue Man Group's signature "Drumbone" PVC piping instrument for your own perusal.

Name is likely based on Ska which was (maybe still is) popular among skaters, while the sound is probably inspired by what you mention here.

it sounds like garbage and makes me wonder why none of the Solaris have ever taken a wrench to the kneecaps of those kids: as someone who has been deprived of sleep in the past by noisy neighbors, I can tell you it's a great way to turn the most sane person on the planet into a complete lunatic. it's even more baffling when you consider there aren't really any laws or police in Fortuna either, and I doubt the Corpus Taxmen would care as long that same wrench is used for fixing pipes during the work shift... if they're willing to let Rude Zuud sell automatic weapons, what else could you get away with down there I wonder?..
