iPhone required factory reset after crash during install process

Earlier today I downloaded the Warframe mobile app. I selected "full" download for 10 GB (I checked first and had about 59 GB free), then plugged my phone into the wall and took a nap because it seemed like it was going to take a while. I woke up to my alarm about 1 hour later, and switched apps to turn the alarm off. I then swapped back to the app and right after that my phone screen went black and then showed only the apple logo while being totally unresponsive. I connected it to my PC and tried to do "update and restore" through iTunes but it failed, so my only option was a full factory reset wiping out all my data (luckily I had a somewhat recent backup so I didn't lose that much). I have had the phone for over a year and never had a full phone crash like that, and wasn't updating or doing anything with any other apps at the time so it seems like it must have been the Warframe mobile app. Unfortunately since it had to factory reset and then restore a backup from before I installed the Warframe app, there are presumably no log files on my phone to point to exactly what went wrong.

Hey there FB-22, this is quite the strange report! I cannot say we have heard about Warframe on iOS causing a phone to become totally unresponsive and require a factory reset. Could you let me know a bit more information about the device and OS?
* what IPhone model are you using?
* when was the last time you updated your iOS? Do you know if you have automatic updates on or if you manually update your iOS? In the event that you know exactly what iOS you were running at the time of the incident, let me know! (completely understandable if you can't recall your latest iOS)

Thank you Tenno,

Thank you Tenno,

It is the iPhone 14 plus, I have automatic updates on for my iOS - it is on 17.3.1 after resetting, which appears to be the latest - not 100% sure what version it was before crashing but it did give me the option of "update" instead of factory reset when restoring (although it gave an error and didn't work so I had to factory reset) so I think it might have been a slightly older version before. It had been updated at least once in the last 2 weeks so I would guess 17.3.0 or a similarly recent iOS. I know there is not a lot to work with here but I couldn't find anyone else reporting an issue like this so thought it would be a good idea to bring attention to just in case.
