Slash status damage will work normally most of the time.

 

However if the slash status damage is higher than the max health of a corpus enemy it will hit the shields instead.

There is no need for the Bleed to be higher for it to hit shields, because it will always hit shields first, no matter what.

Bleed does not bypass shields. Only Toxin (damage and status).

I never paid attention to slash for years now. Only when I was testing my Kubrow slash damage years ago. I went to the wiki ready to prove my point and saw they had changed it in update 27.2
