Blast triggering host migrations

Specifically while using Lavos Valence augment, though that could just be a matter of it being the most reliable trigger.

Chewed through multiple hosys about every 90 seconds, with no apparent issue if incusing magnetic/viral whatever instead.

Also only the Host, the rest of the swuad would reform, though the next host would go shortly after. Which would make me suspect its some sort of calculation overload on the host rather then visual crashes or anything

Yeah I myself don’t crash so I mostly notice it seems to wipe out other people.

The Lavos one has the whole “everything in the tile hits 10 procs at once” effect. Admittedly its not a build I see a tonof people run lol

So in intermittent testing.

It definitely can crash the game for ps5 and PC both.

Seems to most easily be set off by projectiles with high amounts of multishot and some AoE (Staticor and Cedo being the two most consistent

 

Dunno how worthwhile the Playstation report and send is, but fired off several with the description “BLAST CRASH”

That's a different kind of issue, having no relation to blast. And DE already aware of it and working on a fix:

Perhaps, would explain why it crashed the PS5 client when it otherwise hasn’t.

The host migrations happened elsewhere through the mission too though. For that matter the aerolysys also had no problems when I used the Corr/Cold Corinth instead.

That said, those occurred because I forgot what build was set there. Id have to go try a d find people to deliberately crash to really get a solid one.

Anyhow, heres a vid of back to back prettymuch in Ascension. Both times its the host dropping. The one rejoins the in progess mission which means he full crashed. Host #3 was surprisingly unaffected, possibly cause the amount of enemies spawning to be exploded dipped. Though he did start going down a bunch, but they didn’t reply in chat so I couldn’t answer whether lag was spiking them.

7 additional runs with Lavos infusing Viral instead and didn’t lose a single person.

Hi Tenno, confirming we have nailed down the issue here! It is related to using Lavos' Valence Formation Augment and applying Blast damage to your weapons. 

This is officially a known issue that unfortunately requires a code fix. In the meantime, we recommend avoiding that combination of Augments and damage types in the meantime for the sake of our console Tenno. Thank you!
