Good site for DPS builds. http://warframe-builder.com/

Details of DPS chart


-DPS does not take head shot/weak point dmg into account
-DPS is based on time it takes to fire and reload and be ready for next shot based on Recorded footage in game
-Computer performance may decrease DPS for very fast firing weapons, less fps less fire rate.
-First number is using Heavy caliber, 2nd number is without heavy caliber, both DPS #s are with reload.
-The # with -- beside it in spoilers represents the average dmg per shot you can get using all dmg mods
-The numbers in spoilers representing seconds, are based on reload with and without speed trigger, some may be off by 0.1 seconds.
-DPS is based on dmg vs a single target not multiple
-DPS shown does not take resistances or bonus damage into account vs specific factions/enemies.
-Does not take accuracy or Status effects into account, this is assuming all bullets hit target.
-#m/#m in spoiler represents the Accuracy. m=meters. = Farthest you can be from enemy to have good accuracy.
First meter is without zooming in, Second Meter is with zooming in.

10+330%(caliber+serration)+90%(split chamber)+420%(crit with Point Strike+vital sense)+270%(3x elements 90% each)x100(ammo) Divided by 10.2(time it takes to shoot+reload)= 15,410
420% dmg increase is calculated by goign 75%x5.6=420
100% crit dmg = 0% extra damage,u must remove 100% so instead of 75x6.6 u go 75x5.6

This math fails due how weapons fire and status weapons also there are crit and status weapons like the energy lab sniper.

Now ignis for example hits massive groups so it will do more dps also it cant sustain max dps due to group numbers, burston built for status does much higher dps due to effecting more than 1 when specific satuses procure, now the energy lab sniper may not do much more but due to multi build (status and crit) it will do less base and crit dmg but with for example toxin it can 1 shoot bosses or with gas do massive splash dmg on a status procuring crit.

 

This is why i use dmg per shot instead its more versitile way of building for example i have a flux with 3 setups 1 for each main faction like gas for infested the slash kills ancients very fast anyway and when it crits or status proc does stupid dmg not a built for ether, magnetic and toxin for corpus have tested alot works amazing and corrosive and heat for grineer still testing. Can someone tell me if a crit and status builds get regular procures after up12 im on 11.5 still.

I was having an argument about it and popped ingame to try it out - it was ticking for 25% shot damage, of the element that toxin was a part of. The ticks were fully influenced by everything effecting the shot damage (so everything, HS, Bane, crits, headshot multipliers, enemy vulnerabilities), the only exception being the 3rd or 4th element wasnt ticking.

 

Etc 100% corrosive was ticking for 25% every second or so, 75% corrosive 25% cold was only ticking for ~19% every second; thats 25% of the corrosive damage dealt, the ticks were ignoring the cold.

 

Makes it much more powerful than when they bashed it with the nerf bat, iirc.

Okay, so thats a base damage of what, 38, and ticks for 10 each, thats 25% per tick. And toss on Hornet Strike and it is increased. Toss on more +toxin from cicero mod and the 90% mod and its increased.

 

You've stated in calculations:

(Dot) 9x 50% of base dmg (over 8 sec)(Not effected by element mods)

 

Which is completely different than the apparent reality of 25% per second for 8 seconds, or +400% damage over 8 seconds, and it is affected by elemental mods as long as it part of the toxin combination.

I think I starting to see where you getting mixed up.

I said dot does 50% of base dmg (base dmg being 20) (not effected by element mods)  WHat that means is you do not calculate any element mods, yes Toxic mod will increase the base dmg, but I all ready stated element mods will not effect dot. And if you are increasing base dmg with elements you are calculating the dot wrong.

Only mods that effect dot, are Hornet strike/magnum force, crit, expel and multishot as you get more dots with more bullets. Its that simple.

Edit: I was wrong, joining a group session had reset my Acrid to the prior build with Hornet Strike so I was seeing the increase from that.

 

Ticks for 10, unmodified by elemental damage.

First weapon where it is better to use Gunslinger over lethal torrent, and better to use 100% multishot over 120%.  For max dps.

I think you can squeeze more out of Castanas:

 

Hornet  + 100% Diffusion + (Ice Storm 40% + Cicero 60% + 2 90% elementals =+280% elemental damage) + Quickdraw + Faction Mod

 

Damage per throw = 100 * 3.2 * 2 * 3.8 * 1.3 = 3161.6

Damage per 3xthrow volley = 300 * 3.2 * 2 * 3.8 * 1.3 = 9484.8

Overall DPS = (300/(0.67+0.4)) * 3.2 * 2 * 3.8 * 1.3 = 8814.9 DPS

 

Using Quickdraw gives a slightly higher DPS than Gunslinger. Math+Comparison:

Base with 3 shot clip = 0.2 seconds per shot

300 Damage in clip, .4 Seconds to Fire all 3 shots (0, .2, .4 -> Reload), 1 second reload time = 300/(.4 + 1)= 214.3 DPS

 

Gunslinger: 1/(5 * 1.72) = 0.116 seconds per shot

300 Damage in clip, .233 Seconds to Fire all 3 shots (0, .116, .233 -> Reload), 1 second reload time = 300/(.233 + 1)= 243.3 DPS

 

Quickdraw: 1/1.48 = .676 second reload time

300 Damage in clip, .4 Seconds to Fire all 3 shots (0, .2, .4 -> Reload), .676 second reload time = 300/(.4 + .676)= 278.8 DPS

 

If you consider that shooting at .116 second intervals might be harder for some people than shooting at .2 second intervals (or FPS drops), Quickdraw just gets better.

 

Edit: Upon retrospect, Lethal Torrent build is usable if you want super high max theoretical DPS:

 

First of all, it is important to note that probability wise with 180% multishot...  4% of the time you get 4 projectiles per reload, 32% of the time you get 5 projectiles per reload, and 64% of the time you get 6 projectiles per reload.

 

Torrent + Hornet  + Diffusion + (Cicero 60% + 2 90% elementals =+240% elemental damage) + Quickdraw + Faction Mod

 

4% of the time:

Damage per throw = (200) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 2828

Damage per 2xthrow volley = (400) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 5657

Overall DPS = (400/(0.676+0.125)) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 7063

 

64% of the time:

Damage per throw = (300) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 4243

Damage per 2xthrow volley = (600) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 8468

Overall DPS = (600/(0.676+0.125)) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 10595

 

32% of the time:

Damage per 2xthrow volley = (500) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 5657

Overall DPS = (500/(0.676+0.125)) * 3.2 * 3.4 *1.3 = 8828

 

Notable observations:

1. Lethal Torrent, 95% of the time, matches or exceeds the DPS of the Ice Storm build.

2. Lethal Torrent, on average, does about 10k DPS, or about 13% more than the Ice Storm build.

3. Ice Storm build, will hit 12% harder compared to the weakest Lethal Torrent throws, but will hit 25% weaker compared to the strongest Lethal Torrent Throws. This advantage is skewed towards Torrent as 4 out of 5 throws will be the stronger variant.

4. Ice Storm build, will hit 13% harder compared to the strongest Lethal Torrent volley, and 70% harder compared to the weaker common Lethal Torrenty Volley.

5. Ice Storm build will always be able to distribute its damage over 3 different locations due to having 3 throws vs. Lethal Torrent's 2.

 

Conclusions:

1. Lethal Torrent build is superior damage per second, on average, if your enemies takes multiple reloads to kill on account of firing faster (makes sense). Also, most of the time, superior damage per shot, but this isn't very consistent.

2. Ice Storm build is superior damage per volley, is consistent damage, and is more granular damage (3 constant throws per reload vs. 2 variable damage throws per reload of Lethal Torrent).

 

Personally, my ideal build would be Ice Storm, because on a burst/AoE weapon like Castanas, I would value the consistency of damage more than DPS. Castana DPS is rather low for busting heavy enemies, so I want to maximize the value per throw to hit multiple weak enemies.

I redid the Castanas without using icestorm, Quick draw instead. 1.05 sec using macro. = 9.9k dps, 8.3k without macro as 0.2 sec makes a big difference in dps for this fast reloading/small mag weapon.

Around 8.7k using icestorm/quick draw using 100% multishot.

Dont no why i didnt try without icestorm, was not thinking thx.

very impressive, and I never really trusted DPS numbers before, because it seemed a lot of people tended to leave out the time you're stuck reloading a weapon. that contributes (well, decreases, technically), your average DPS. also had a feeling marelok would be up there, I look forward to trying that out soon

Most calcs and stuff out there have two separate DPS figures, a regular DPS and a "Burst" DPS. The regular DPS is DPS accounting for reload time, while Burst DPS is the DPS not accounting for reload (in otherwords, the straight DPS of just shooting as if you have an infinite clip).

Akbronco prime seems to be lower DPS then The regular Bronco prime which is odd... As most dual weapons are better then single.

 

Yeah they totally effed with the damage/shot on the Ak. No idea why, or if they might buff it back to what you'd expect later.

 

 

And Gorgon Wraith is about as good as supra.

 

But hitscan and MUCH higher proc chance, meaning lots of staggers :P

hey Midlesswar do you know if synapse got nerfed? because i seem to have dropped dmg from mine. It was 300 corrosive dmg after the update its down to 282. Was it just me?

 

Nope still same damage. Unless a mod was nerfed maybe.. i dont no why its different for you.
