Weapon Polarity Disconnects

I think several weapons need a serious relook at their "natural" polarity slots.

For instance, the Fang has a D slot.  What melee mods have D polarity, you ask?

  • Melee Prowess (increases Status %)
  • North Wind (grants cold damage)

What's wrong with this list?  The Fang has 1.0% Status Chance.  Increasing this is fundamentally worthless.  Elemental Mods are fundamentally worthless.

What other weapons have polarities that are completely disconnected from their useability?

So far the only good mod that has a D polarity is Hammershot and that mod is situational still (and random cold mods with D polarities) but overall there is no reason for any weapon to have a D polarity unless they rework the polarities on mods and then you would have sooooo many people complaining since their cookie cutter build may no longer work without more forma.

Well, D polarities used to be helpful for melee weapons that didn't stun lock under damage 1.0 (like the Fangs or the Zorens), since elemental mods had a one hundred percent status effect rate. It has been less useful since then of course. And you can't really change the base polarities out from under existing weapons without causing problems, so there's not much you can do there.

Though elemental mods are... ah... decidedly not useless. Cold damage figures in Magnetic and Viral combos, and is a good tack on for helping with shields in the Void.
