Oh, and there was that time, though I never saw it personally, when the mobs would sometimes show up towering on each other. Imagine a stack of three or four Lancers standing on each other's shoulders.

I'm pretty sure that still happens, actually. Saw a couple lancers and a scorpion a few months ago standing on top of each other like it was no thang.

I wasn't around for Combat Formation Bravo, can someone enlighten me?

Just a phrase that the Grineer troops would shout mid-combat (when they spoke english). They never actually got into a formation though.

Well, besides the examples above.

Witness the towering mobs in the void.

This has been a fun trip down memory lane. I also remember *@##$ing about Slash Dash being OP and you could also use it to travel through the corpus laser doors unscathed, speaking of which remember when they did tons of damage?

I also recall having five players in a mission a few times. It caused the map to crash and you had to find your way around by yourself.

can I also feel good about myself making Banshee the old school way? by collecting her parts from Raid (oh raid where did you go?)/ sabotage and defense on Xini? It was also a rarity to see a Vauban when he first came out.

Also back then the Lotus had one sassy voice, shes apparently all serious now.....

-The game was way underpopulated, by both players and enemies.
-Enemies were stronger, because there were fewer of them, so a team of five guys shooting you simultaneously would wreck your S#&$
-Weak spots on every single enemy, which if you knew where they all were made you king of the world
-Snipers that were actually useful because you could headshot guys, in their weakspot, from far away, compared to now, where you just get mowed down by waves of guys while you attempt to hit even one of them.

-Infested consisted of Runners, Leapers, Ancients [which were giant Runners], and Crawlers, which really only occurred when you shot the legs off the Runners.
-Because that was a thing back then. It was smart. We can't do it anymore for some reason.
-J3Golem was a permanent boss, as was Phorid
-Infested were permanent enemies
-Infested levels were actually creepy and atmospheric
-"Bacon sword" Mire was the only Infested weapon, and dealt Poison damage before poison was ever an element
-Dual/Heat Swords was the only melee weapon to have naturally occurring elemental damage

-The tree system demanded that you unlock Mod slots to be able to use them
-Powers had to be unlocked too, and you had to unlock multiple different instances of them for them to be powered up/stronger
-4th/Ultimate powers were 'exclusive' to paying accounts/founders/etc, so no Radial Disarm, Rhino Stomp, etc
-Rhino had Radial Shockwave instead of his current 3rd
-Snipetron existed, and everyone was confused when they introduced the Vulkir which was worse, and more confused when they retired the superior snipetron
-No tutorial, but it was still easy to get into/not that complicated to pick up

Back in mah day we had one corridor, one enemy type for each faction and xini was end game. Oh and we had a lvling tree with little blue pills that showed everyone how noob you were.

All this game is is grind, and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. It was a grind when I first started and it's still just a grind. Before you just grinded the bosses for BPs or mats, now you grind beacons or keys before you can grind the bosses. The game has become even more bloated with weapons. 90% of which are used only to grind mastery points and then thrown away. That weapon that you enjoy so much will become a victim of power creep or nerfed because it was too powerful.

So, fundamentally nothing has changed.

Continuous weapons used to be fun to use.

A potato used to drop once every 3 days out of the alert system on average.

Transmutation used to always give a rare when you put in four rare mods.

You could fight any boss without grinding for a piece of a key.

You could fight infested whenever you wanted to, in every gametype.

Mods used to be fun and interesting to collect.

That's how bad it was.
