is there supposed to be joke

Nope. People I know were curious, and decided to post this for those who are curious about the change and don't have the EDO Armor or Chest Piece of the EDO set.

Thanks for posting. Please post a pic or gif without chaneling. Also is the effect color always blue or can you customize its color?

It's the same without channeling, and no, the color isn't customizable.. Not sure if this is a bug or not. As for the channeling, sorry; I was using melee in the mission.

Did they add this effect to the other armor attachments in previous patches or am I missing something here? If not, why only the Edo armor?

Do you guys think DE will add this effect to the other existing types as well?

Just EDO. I am guessing it's the first wave of armor changes. I would assume the other parts would get their own effect in the near future as well.

As awesome as it looks zoomed in, it seems like it would look a bit awkward in regular gameplay when only your abdomen is making this weird near-spherical glow that clips into your waist and neck.

D'oh didn't have a script on the deco setup correctly to get the energy colours.  Jeremy just helped with that and Darryl brought it across so it should be in the next hotfix.

I had intended the chest on the Edo set to be project a little shield from the beginning, but we didn't have the reactive armor stuff then.  Doing the full cuirass in physical armor didn't work (nightmare), but some of the shapes are present from the front with an echo of the Tenno spine on the back.  Might update the mesh at some point, but the look is representative of what I had in mind.

I did get it triggered to show on slide as well so you had a way for it to show that didn't involve getting shot ;).  If that proves annoying we'll take it off, but for the moment it seems cool.  Of the first sets this is the only one I've got that planned for (will have to take a look at all of them when things slow down a bit though).  Future sets will be leveraging the reactive stuff much more -- IE: If / when we get to a Corpus themed one energy shields would be a natural fit etc.

It does look cool.... if you happen to use light blue energy. I like that it shows up on sliding (even though most of us slide all the time), but it does seem a little off compared to everything else when your frame is completely customized.

Okay, THAT makes sense. Was wondering what the heck was up with edo armor's chest design. Thanks! Looking forward to the buffs!
