The infested filled everywhere, and I had no weapons, save for my Kogakes, and I was stripped of my mods. But they were there. They, like I, awoken from stasis. I was from a Cryopod, them a cabinet. I ran from the infested, knowing they will only encumber my mission, but I saw the cabinets. And they slept inside. Unaware of the dangers outside for them. We shared something, not only the loneliness confined in our stasis, but we held something more. I ran, passing infested alike, knowing it was safer for them in their cabinets. I deposited the data into the system. And the Lotus tells me a new order. I could no longer run, I couldn't disobey anymore than I could stop breathing. So in my flight, I found extraction, but guilt lured through my mind as I kicked a Charger's face in. They would sleep forever not knowing their fate, so I saved them. I killed the last Charger, and began hacking their cabinets. Wave was the first to awaken. Wave followed me, taking long strides, faithful to the one who awoken it. Shock was the second. Shock was... In shock, it moved away from its cabinet but stopped at the top of the flights of stairs, petrified. Wave turned back, and I knew what must happen. I walked back to extraction, knowing that Shock had Wave and they would protect each other. I couldn't take them back, but at least their crusiser was DE-infected and was safe for them. Maybe they would awaken the others. Maybe they would stay away, safe in the void. This is the last picture I had of them before I left. (Shock's in the back, Wave is beside me.) But seriously, this topic reminded me of a alert defense mission yesterday where I hacked all the cabinets on the map and amassed an army of Shockwave MOA's.
