I'm pretty new to Warframe, and noticed this little icon had popped up in the top right of my game, I think it has only appeared after I purchased but didn't recieve my platinum (Already contacted support), but at the moment I'm just curious what this little icon is.

on the top right - it means you have a discount voucher

That icon stands for platinum discount, whenever you get a platinum discount via daily login reward the icon will appear.

That is a single-use platinum discount coupon. You have a chance to get them from the log-in rewards. You can have only one active at a time.

 Yea, that spot is like a notification bar.  When you have a booster (affinity, credit, etc.), plat discount, item waiting in foundry, they will show up there.  You can hover them I think to see what they are.
