Saryn's Miasma Doesn't Work Properly In Ds Conflicts

I could be wrong but when I cast Miasma directly on top of another player, his HP doesn't instantly decrease. There was some DoT going on at 30HP per tick but sometimes it's only 9 or 10 per tick. For an ulti it's really pitiful.

 

Can someone else confirm this?

Miasma:

 

  • Deals 187.5 / 237.5 / 312.5 / 375 Corrosive damage per second over 4 seconds within a radius of 8 / 10 / 12 / 15 meters.
    • Damage and duration are affected by Power Strength and Power Duration respectively.
    • Radius is increased by Power Range mods.
  • Saryn is invincible during the cast animation, but not immune to knockdowns or Energy Drains.
  • Most targets and some bosses that are not killed by the initial damage are staggered and then stunned for ~4 seconds.
  • Does not require an initial target or line of sight, it may be used through wall, doors etc.
  • Can be used while sliding and while in the air.

is this the pvp stats or did you just copy and paste from the wiki

I know (or at least think) that Miasma isn't just one hit of damage, but a DoT like you described. Can't figure out the 9 or 10 damage per tick tho. The 40 damage per tic makes sense because of DS PVP balancing. 

 

IIRC in PVE, Miasma actually does one initial burst of damage, then DoT.

 

But either way, Miasma does too little damage for an ulti. 40 dmg per second/tick for 4 seconds? It really is only useful in DS's first stage when the enemy didn't level up to have Vitality yet. But for the energy it costs and the risk involved in casting it (you have to be physically close to the enemy), Miasma really is useless. 

 

Why do some frames have useful ulti (Ash, cough cough) while others' ulti are nerfed to the ground?
