Should Warframe Have Auction Halls?

An auction house where you bid on prices to buy something would only work well, if it was a credits only thing. No platinum.

However, A place to list an offer, and if someone wants it at that offer, then they can buy it at that offer may work. If you want the price lower you would have to contact the person selling it.

NO, no, and... no.

Auction Houses would do nothing but tank the value of everything that is tradeable.  People would just be lazy and toss everything up for sale and start undercutting each other because no work is needed to sell items.  This would cause it to be horribly hard for free players to make plat since nothing would have value anymore.  Also, since we would be trading plat, the reduced value of items would reduce the need to buy plat and it would be financially bad for DE with people not buying as much plat to feed their trading.  Auction Houses work in subscription games where the currency being traded is not something like plat that is bought with real money, but this is a F2P game so it would not fit.

There is no good reason to have an Auction house in this game.

I would be all for auction halls if they were well run, and the "pricing" was voted on by players, with the pricing possibly changing every month or if there were major changes (such as Event mods being put back into the game/"re-released.")

Knowing DE they'd make the rarest mod cost like 10p.

The DFO Auction house worked given it was in  game current\cy

This change woud greatly increase the flow of the market and its very possible that more people will buy plat thanks to that alone

Prices being stable and possibly lower would also be a benefit to newer players

Limiting everyone to 5 or so items on the AH would make the old trade system still a main thing while allowing a more efficient secondary trade system

As it stands now trading is nothing more than spamming the same message in the channel and waiting for a bite. It's certainly engaging, but you're forced to choose between playing the game and moving merchandise. I don't even want to go into the issue of everyone wanting plat or for a trade to be tilted heavily in their favor. So yeah, I think an auction house would be a wonderful addition to the game, especially given the idea for things to only be bought with credits. Also, there could be an item-for-item option where you put in what you would be willing to take in trade for an item. Finally, if there was a baseline credit value of a mod or prime part, then it would encourage more trades and less purchases for plat in the trading channel.

No, I have discussed this before at length. Answer is still no because it will result in flooding during the initial stages if implemented unchecked.

There are plenty of very fair traders in the market. Scams are rare and basically non existent unless you have 0 business know how. People are not as vulnerable as hey are made out to be and they only cry when they copped a sour deal that they could have easily avoided most likely.

Only if nobody could see each other's offers and a buy/sell transactions were made by an automated computer system. Basically it would go something like this:

Seller: wants to sell max Serration for at least 300p, deposits sell offer into system, which keeps the Serration mod until a suitable buyer is found or the seller cancels the sell offer

Buyer: is willing to pay 325p for a max Serration, deposits 325p into system, which keeps the platinum until a suitable offer is found or the buyer cancels the offer

Transaction: system matches buyer with seller because buyer is willing to pay equal or more than (closest buy price to what the seller wants is chosen) what the seller wants; seller receives 325p, buyer receives max Serration

Basically the Grand Exchange from RuneScape.

the point of having a certain something different than what we have now (not necessarily a auction house) is about practicality, not about the prices people sell.

I'm also worried about that, even with limiting the numbers of offers, at the point where the game is, numbers of people has a bunch of thing in stocks, not sure how it might come out.

This is the bottom line.  The current trade system is a nightmare (especially on consoles without a keyboard).  Any system where prices are inflated because the trading is unnecessarily complicated and tedious and forces you trade instead of playing the game is a bad one.

It's easy to put checks on the market too.  If a person can only list 1 item per 4 mastery ranks or something like that for example, it would be difficult for a single person to flood the market.  The number of transactions could have the same MR-limit currently in place as well.

I just got home at 8 PM and barely have time to play, let alone spend hours attempting to sell items

The current ssytem is impractical

Also AH doesnt devalue items

Not having one is actually making worthless items come out to be more than they should

If its really an issue there can be a min trade price of 5 plat for certain things

Though there are workarounds for trades its still better than what we have now
