It has a VERY small innate punch through

 

Adding more increases its killing efficiency heavily. Seriously though, do you know how punch through works or how effective it is and at what levels?

Did you even bother checking the figure? 0.8 to 1m punch through is by no mean small. By comparison, the rifle Shred mod only give 1.2m at max rank. 0.8m is enough to pierce through an enemy. Consider the number pallet this thing shoot out and pallets are not travelling in straight line very far, piercing through one enemy per pallet is more than enough. What you need to mod is tighten the spread of these pallet and shorten the spooling shoot.

The way I see you had absolutely no experience with this weapon,and just judging it based on your experience dealing with other low ammo efficiency weapon.

I use Metal auger that adds 2.1 without increasing fire rate and adding more efficiency issues

If you think piercing one enemy is enough but still think its not ammo efficient when used against large groups the issue is you

Sooo, Kohm 2.0 (or 1.1?)

 

The ammo economy is certainly better. Still bad, but only Twin Viper bad where an ammo mutator could probably keep you sustained so long as you're not too frivolous with your ammo. And thanks to the added damage it doesn't seem necessary to fully spool up just to kill one or two outlying enemies, so going full-spool is only necessary when you want to melt crowds now (which is good).

 

Still not sure if it was worth the Oxium and Argon costs though, and the ammo economy could use further improvement, but at least it qualifies as a fun weapon that you can use for more than three minutes in my book.
