I wouldn't mind seeing something like this actually.

 

Getting a crit boosts crit chance by 25%, stacking up to the next guaranteed threshold. Not dealing weapon damage for 10 seconds resets this.

 

Numbers subject to change, but it would mean that a Soma would hit guaranteed crits pretty quick, Latron P would take a bit longer, and bows would hit guaranteed red crits after a bit. It would not take them into the next crit-zone, but it would allow you to have 100% chance of what the weapon is capable of anyway in a long engagement.

Actually, I'd love to see that mod for melee!

Melee needs this! Currently melee is in a point of obscurity despite DE's attempts to fix it via combo counter. Melee still gets you facerolled once enemies scale up in endless content due to enemies HP, armor, and damage scaling obscenely.

Maybe it shouldn't be able to take you into the next crit threshold.

That would make it pretty decent in terms of not being crazy.
