What If: (Some) Mods Gave Flat Bonuses Instead Of Percentile Ones?

Note: All this assumes that DE isn't going to actively 'tier' weapons and and frames, as they haven't thus far.

I've been meaning to post about this for a few weeks.

Maybe now that this is here I actually will, but for now this is just a stub; point being to open a discussion.

As per the title, what if mods gave flat bonuses rather than percentile ones?

Warning! Made up numbers!

e.g. Vitality / Redirection gave 25 HP /  Shield per rank. Stretch gave 2.5 meters per rank. Serration gave SMGs 1 damage per rank, Assault Rifles 2.5 damage per rank, Snipers and launchers 25 damage per rank. (Yes, that last probably can't be implemented into the system as-is and would require coding support.)

By making the bonuses flat, you're disconnecting them from the gear's base stats.

This decreases the power gap between maxed out 'top tier' and 'mastery fodder' weapons, making more gear viable for more content, but still leaving a best choice for the minmaxers.

Good? Bad? Ugly?

 As Renegade343 would say:

Please discuss civilly in this thread.

not in the way you're thinking about it.

making all Mods Additive again would be going back to the system we left behind with some good reasons (and ofcourse some things that were great that we left behind ofcourse).

we have our sets of Multiplicative Mods. and a few special Additive Mods.

now, if we perhaps had a set of Additive Mods to compliment the Mods we have, rather than trying to replace them, then maybe we're on to something.
