Confused About Focus System

Hi,

My buddies and I are considering returning to Warframe (we left shortly after Volt Prime was added).

 

I see that they added in Focus.

 

I understand that after completing the last mission in one of the quests, you get to choose one of five 'Ways' or whatever and each one has an active ability with a passive skill tree to use affinity on.  I get that.

 

Im curious, are we able to swap out focus from warframe to warframe?  

 

Example:  If I am playing Trinity, obviously, I would want to use the healing Focus tree.  However, if I am doing something like Nova or Mesa (more offensive), I would want to use a more offensive focus.  

 

What is the swapping process like?  Are there any penalties to doing this?

the 5 trees of focus can be switched at any time , you can only have 1 tree active at the time .

The only "Penalty" to swaping focus trees is that for each one after your first(which is free) you will need to pay 50,000 focus after that all you need to do is make that your primary school and it will swap to that on missions

You want a healing tree on a frame that can max heal everybody by pressing 4 ?

Makes no sense.

 

Anyway, you have 1 free focus when you complete the quest, after what you have to unlock the other manually, by collecting 50k focus point from the focus tree you want to unlock.

 

Once you have them unlocked, you have to manually change the focus you want to use, and there is no penalty. You just go to the focus managing tab.
