Question Regarding Prime Warframes

I was told that prime warframes were what the warframes looked like during the orokin era. But if that's so, why was the player character's warframe in its non-primed state during the tutorial? The warframes were supposedly hid into cryopods since the end of the orokin era, so they should have been at the primed form at the time. Can prime warframes degrade into its non-primed form?

Not all warframes were prime in the orokin era.  Prime frames were likely the firsts in their series or at least funded by the orokin to be elites. Tennos had their own mini society within the orokin empire and were eventually were able to build their own to mass produce them for war.  All this is a bit shaky because there is little in-game evidence of this but pieced together with tibits of info the devs throw out in their devstreams.

its a little twisted idea. Operator as a human dont have a "prime" version- only Warframes have.

I'm talking about the tutorial stage, when the player's starting warframe (Ex/Mag/Volt) drops from its cryopod. Shouldn't that warframe have been in its primed state?

Prime frames are from the Orokin era, but not all frames from the Orokin era are primed.
