Rhino + Death Laser = Bug or Feature?

So my friends showed me that if with rhino/rhino prime, i was using the later that if you step in front of the laser in a defense mission with iron skin just casted within the invulnerability state you gain a ridiculous amount of Armour on your iron skin. is this a feature or a bug?

Probably closer to an unintended feature than a bug. Working as intended, but the sheer damage output of void lasers was potentially an oversight.

If I had to guess it isn't intended but it's been around for a while so I kind of expect they may remove it at some point once they get more concerning bugs out of the way

you can fully expect it's not intended, but not completely game destroying and therefore isn't priority #1.
simply because of how easy it is to use said traps for that purpose. high Level Enemies can deal that sort of Damage, but has much, much higher risk & effort in doing so.
