Nothing like Ezvid, or camtasia, but I want something that can record at least 480p or high definition. I also want an editing software that can do things that Sony Vegas Pro 13 can do ( i.e. Photos over video, able to use MP4, etc. ). Any suggestions? JefPlays Posted April 1, 2016 Share Posted April 1, 2016 From what I've heard, OBS is the way to go as far as free recorders go. If you use an nvidia card, don't forget you have shadowplay as well. Having used OBS for recording stuff with friends, the only asterisk I would put here is that you're probably going to want to go through the tutorials/user guides and read up on all the options available to you for getting the best recording quality possible with your hardware. Cryptoxic Posted April 2, 2016 Share Posted April 2, 2016 OBS is good for local recording although you might need to fiddle around with the settings to get it to output your desired format. As for video editing, I'm not too sure of a free alternative but I bought Adobe Premier Pro for my schoolwork and it's a pretty solid piece of software.
