Never saw a red crit until I started using Paris Prime

I've read about Soma Prime being a great crit weapon, but I've never once seen a red crit while using it. In fact, I don't think I've seen one at all, until I started using Paris Prime the other day. So, I have a couple of questions:

Would the yellow text of regular shots obscure a red crit, if you have tons of lead flying?

How high do you need to get critical chance to make it worthwhile? What's the lowest base value you would bother raising?

If you don't have Argon Scope, then the Paris Prime, Dread, Amprex and Synapse are the only weapons you can redcrit with (not looking at melees with Blood Rush)

I don't tend to mod for crit on guns unless it's over 35% or so.

Paris prime was recently the first red crit I saw too. I shed a little tear?, twas a thing of beauty, ha ha
