One of the things I like to do is make Warframe concepts and I have lately felt that if I where to make a new concept, I would want a lore entry. So, I am dedicating this page as a place I can practice making lore entries based on preexisting Warframes that don't have a huge lore paragraph. My first entry, fittingly enough, will be the first Warframe I ever used, Volt. Any feedback and constructive criticism on my entries are highly appreciated. Any suggestions on what to do next are also appreciated. Also, would you guys prefer the entries to be in 3rd person, 1st person, or a few in 3rd and a few in 1st?

Entry 1: Volt 6/11/2016

Spoiler

I stood and watched as the others were being tested in a rigorous course designed to test everything we have trained for. The others like me who tested on it passed with flying colors, but only because we were different. Ordinary foot soldiers tried and failed the in their attempts, but we completed it with minor effort. The others had finally finished their test, some faster than others, but now it was my turn. I stood ready at the start of the course, I heard the voice of the scientists through the speaker overhead.

"Your trial will begin momentarily."

I stood ready, muscles coiled at the ready, waiting for the signal.

"Your trial will begin in 3...2...1, Start!"

When the signal to start flared, I felt a sudden surge of power through my body. I cleared the challenge with ease and looked over at the crowd that had gathered. All the scientist in attendance were astonished, even my fellow peers couldn't help but show some kind of amazement at the speed I just demonstrated. A course that would take others minutes to clear, done in seconds. After the testing was over, I was approached by a lady wearing ornate gold clothing and a kind smile.

"Hello, young one, I am the lead scientist, and I saw your performance just now. I must say, it was quite impressive, even by standards set by other subjects."

"Thank you, it was really nothing special."

"Oh, but it was special. Come, follow me, there is something you should see."

I followed her until we came to a large golden door, when the door opened, she encouraged me to step inside. When I walked in, I notice a large golden coffin set at the back of the room, standing vertically to the wall.

"Why is there a coffin in this room?"

She looked down at me, giving off a small laugh.

"Not a coffin, a cryopod, and within it, a body that can withstand the raw power of the void."

The lead scientist accessed a panel to the right of the cryopod, causing it to open up. Inside it was a sleek black metal form, lined in gold. It seemed to irradiate pure energy; bolts of blue light would arc between the form and the cryopod.

"Why show me this?"

I asked, unable to shift my gaze from the slumbering shape before me.

"Because I believe you are ready. Only two others before you have achieved a level far beyond the others at this point. You would be the third to join them, so we created a lens through which you can focus your power, and channel your gifts as you see fit."

I put my hand on the chest of the frozen metal form and felt it beat beneath by palm. I pulled my hand away and looked at the scientist standing patiently beside me.

"Do you fell you are ready?"

I took a moment to contemplate the information she just explained to me. After a brief moment of hesitation, I responded to her with confidence.

"Yes, I am ready."

Spoiler

"Beta Leader, report your status."

"Everything is fine Alpha Leader, our unit just finished surveying the area, we see no signs of..."

I hear screaming coming from the the other end of the radio, then after a few brief moments the radio contains only static and the faint whisper of gun fire in the background.

"Beta Leader report! I repeat, Beta Leader report, what is your status?"

After a moment of tense silence, the dead silence flared back into life.

"Alpha Leader, this is Beta Three..."

I can hear him breathing heavily through the radio, more gunfire echos as I reply.

"Tell me your status Beta Three. What is going on?"

"Beta Leader is down and we are surrounded," he yells frantically through the mic, "They tracked us through our radios, we aren't going to last much longer without reinfor..."

"Beta Three, come in, what is attacking you?"

The silence resumes once again. After multiple attempts to reestablish contact, I decided the best course of action was to relocate the members of Beta squad. As we readied our equipment, "It" just stood there, meditating as if nothing had happened. I stood staring at the thing, thinking about the members of Beta, I became mad and directed my anger at the vaguely human shape.

"Aren't you supposed to be a hero!" I cried out in my frustration, "You could have saved them!"

I wanted to stand and contemplate my anger, but I knew that the mission must come before my own hatred. The Alpha squad mobilized, It followed behind us. After a long walk, we located the mutilated bodies of Beta Squad. All of their bodies, all 15 members of Beta squad, were cut apart and burnt to the point where they were unrecognizable.

"Alpha Leader, is it possible that they were killed by..."

I watch as my second in command falls to the ground and I see where his chest used to be now hosts a massive charred hole. Gunfire erupts around me as the other squad members shoot toward at a metal husk floating in the air. The husk just stands there accepting our bullets; I observe its armor cracking off piece by piece, but after constant fire it no longer receives damage, our weapons have become useless. I stand with my men as more metal abominations appear from behind the shadows, surrounding us. We stand together waiting for our deaths, our "Protector" nowhere to be seen. The husks prepare their weapons but before they fire, I see one of them pulsate blue light from its body, dropping to the floor dead in a matter of seconds. The other husks fire, creating an explosion at sends the my squad flying. I hit the ground hard, breaking my leg and causing my vision to become hazy. I watch as the thing, the shadow from the void engages the machines single-handedly in combat, after a moment the thing waves it hand and i feel invigorated, my injuries are healed as if by magic. I see my other squad-mates get off of the ground, their injuries healed also. The metal husks fire their weapons at us, but this time it felt only like a mere scratch, together we stood side by side, firing back at the monstrosities. Our savior stood beside us, keeping us empowered and downing the machines as if it were the only thing it knew how to do. As I continued fighting, I found a new respect for the creature that fought beside me, no, not a creature, but a divine warrior.

Psychological Evaluation, Case #20:

O: Chief Scientific Officer

H: Head of Project Zariman

S: Subject (TM 03N - 127H)

Recording Start:

O: "What is your name?"

S: (Silence)

O: "Alright then, suit yourself. I am the Chief Scientific Officer, I have brought you here just to ask you a few questions. After you have answered everything I ask, you are free to leave when you feel like it. Now then, lets begin. Scenario one: there is a man standing and holding an uneaten apple, you are very hungry. What do you do?"

S: "I would force him to hand it to me."

O: "Oh how so?"

S: "By simply commanding him to do so."

O: "Hmm, interesting, could you think of a reason he wouldn't give you the apple?"

S: "Nope, I control his thoughts, so why wouldn't he give it to me?"

O: "Control his thoughts? Well, you are creative, I'll give you that. Next scenario: you are in the middle of a forest and you are being chased by a large beast, you have just ran past a metal spike in the ground, and you see a fork in the road ahead. What do you do?"

S: "I run back and pick up a spike."

O: "Why?"

S: "Because now I can harm the beast, maim it, it would be insane to willingly torture itself."

O: "Alright, well lets continue. Third scenario: there is an army, they oppose everything you believe in, they have come to hurt you. What do you do?"

S: "The soldier's minds are weak, so I manipulate them, force them to focus on nothing but shooting the thing closest to him."

O: "How would you do that?!"

S: "They same way I got the apple, by simply commanding them to do so."

O: "I have evaluated many others, and none of the ones I have questioned have ever given an answer remotely close to what you gave shared. I have one last scenario for you: a person is attacking you and you don't have enough time to fully move out of the way. What do you do?"

S: "Simple, I sit and I meditate because I know that he cannot harm me, I am above his comprehension, but I do know that if I focus, I can harm him beyond repair."

O: "I was unsure why they asked me to evaluate you at first, but now I understand why. You are free to go."

S: (Subject leaves the room)

H: "Hello, Officer."

O: "Project Leader, I didn't see you there. How may I be of service?"

H: "Tell me you findings."

O: "On the subject? Well she doesn't seem completely mentally stable, believing things that only exist in stories are real."

H: "Perfect, clear her for the project."

O: "Excuse me Sir, but may I ask why?"

H: "My project seeks to redefine what is fiction and what is reality. Clear her for the project and bring in the next subject."

Entry 4: Saryn 6/21/2016

Spoiler

"Margulis, from your winter ashes, there has sprung a field of flowers. Conceived by me, germinated for deadly purpose. You used to dream of old Earth, didn't you?"

A tall golden man stood alone, staring out of a golden window, in a large golden room within an ornate golden ship. The ship maintains orbit above a small blue planet that contains large, once inhabited continents, with cities fit for a king. Another man walks into the now silent room, approaching the tall golden man, then kneeling before him.

"Executor, we have arrived over the planet."

"You have my sincerest gratitude Captain. Please now, set the ship on a course to land."

The Captain became uneasy at this remark, pausing to contemplate what he was just ask to do.

"Executor, if you don't mind me asking, why return to Earth? The Planet has been plagued ever since the creation of that horrific virus."

The Executor laughed at this statement, turning around to face the Captian.

"It was once bathed in gold and solemn blue, but now it is plagued reminder of what it once was, of what we once were. I intend to reclaim it now, from the spores and the ruin.

"How Executor? The Crew of this ship is not equipped for that kind of cleansing."

"Follow Captain, it is time for you to see the cargo I brought along."

Deep within the cargo hold, slumbered a white-gold form, frozen within the confines of her gold sarcophagus.

"Executor, what it exactly?"

"I spent many years planning and looking for a solution, then it came to me like a proverb: fight poison with poison. I will cure this sick horde with the greatest of plagues.

"You plan to fight a plague with another plague?"

"Indeed, I have come to far to back away now."

The Executor walks to the a panel, releasing the sleeping form from its frozen prison. It awakens, and stands up in silence and composure.

"A hero needs its name, I will call her... Saryn."

Spoiler

We were a colony once, simple people living in the wretched ice of Europa. Our guardian, a god enslaved by the chains of its golden masters, bared control over the very ice that subjugated our people. The Golden Skymen held command over our protector, commanding it to do as they saw fit . Stories told of a God-Warrior, much like the one that watches us, who used its power over the sand to rebel against its skyward masters, protecting the people it came to love. However, we were never so fortunate, the protector of our colony just stood their and watched, emotionless, allowing the Golden people of the Sky to swoop down and take our young. One day, rumors began to surface about an attack on the sky's empire; machines capable of turning the very power of the Skymen against themselves. They came one night, ravaging our village, the machine-husks, in their worm ships, penetrated the planets defenses. On that night, the black and gold statue that silently watched us, stood silent no more. In a tremendous display of power, the ones who sought to do us harm were now frozen solid, and were quickly reaped by he who stood watch. When more came, it created a barrier around the village, using what little power it had left, it commanded the ice and use it to destroy the rest of the machine-husks. When the battle was over, the Golden Skymen returned, taking our savior with them. Weeks went by after that day, the Skymen never returned, neither did their watcher. Still, to this day, we pray that our emotionless savior return to our side.

Spoiler

A crewman escorted by two of his personal guards walked into the bridge of a ship, The bridge was dimly lit and its Captain stood in the darkness staring out into the starry space.

"Sir, you wanted to see me?

The Captain stood, failing to acknowledge the the crewman he summoned to his bridge.

"Umm, S-Sir, I have come as you requested."

The crewman stepped forward to capture the Captain's attention when suddenly heard a quick swoosh in the air and wheeze escaping from the lips of the escorts that once stood behind him. When he looked at the two fresh corpses on the floor, he saw two shining stars embedded within their necks. He quick turned back to face the Captain, only to see his now lifeless body limp in the darkness of the bridge. The crewman slowly backed away while he was still fixated on the lifeless body that lay before him; as he continued walking back, a golden creature emerged from the very darkness threatening to consume the rest of the bridge. As the crewman turned to run the creature appeared before him, seizing him by the neck.

"Just get it over with."

The creature tilled its head as if pondering the words that the crewman just said. After a moments pause, the creature let go of the crewman and bonded his hands with rope, after which he began to drag the crewman across  the ship. The ship was empty until suddenly the creature came under heavy fire from the other crewmen. Knowing he was surrounded, the creature tossed his captive behind cover and unsheathed the blades hiding beneath the tops of his wrists. The creature split into thee and began appearing between the flanks of the armed crewmen. One by one the aggressors were cut down becoming nothing more than blood and gore. In less than thirty seconds, an army of armed men lay dead on the floor. After the attack, the creature brought the captive to its landing craft that had connected itself to the hull of the ship. The creature threw the captive into the landing craft and began flying the craft toward another ship. When the craft landed and the captive exited, he was greeted by a tall golden man.

"Hello crewman, I hope your flight wasn't too rough."

"What do you want with me?"

"we have many questions about your corpus and you have the answers to those specific questions."

The golden man clapped his hands to summon two guards to his side."

Take this crewman to the cells."

"Yes, right away, Executor."

The golden man then turned to his golden creature.

"Good work, you've done your job well."

Spoiler

Three weeks. For three week they had me on the hunt. My task was simple, enter the ship, track down the vaults, extract the data, sabotage the reactors. And so I did this, scavenging ship after ship. I single-handedly took down hundreds of rebel ships looking for the very knowledge the Executors craved. My objective, the overarching influence on my task, find the truth behind the rebel cause, bring back any information they have that could help them with this goal. With each ship, I felt less and less closer to the truth, finding nothing more than weapons logs and data on active rebel ships, information that the Orokin had since the beginning. That is of course, until the day I found myself on the rebels' prized capital ship. The information I gathered had lead me to its location, the Executors commanded me to board it and destroy it from within, they no longer had any use for the reason the rebels fought.

My infiltration was quick, no one noticed I was on board. Me ship was massive and highly advanced, stolen directly from an Orokin scrapyard and repaired by those without the fundamental to do so. I had hacked the first the three vaults of the ship, all was running smoothly. The next two vaults were also completed without a hitch, but the rebels caught on, activating the alarms and locking the sixth vault. The guards attempted to intercept me, dying as I cut through them. I activated cloaking procedures, rendering myself invisible. The cloak diminished as I entered the center of the ship. The soldier their took a moment to comprehend how I got there, pointing their weapons at me after they had come to their senses. I waved my hand, sending out a pulse, disabling their weapons and causing the rebels to turn on each other. Using the chaos as cover, I made my way to the vault, disabling the security measures, I walked inside. the internal vault security was greater than the other vaults, but still not enough. I placed a decoy on the opposite side of a laser barrier, switching place with it to gain access to the vault security. Once I breached the vault's network security and gathered the information I needed, my heads up display started to show signs of disturbance.

"Hurry my child, I do not have much time, the data you have gathered put your life at risk."

The soft voice of a woman filled my head, I tried to find its source but it was futile. I continued the rest of my objective, sabotage the reactor. I started tinkering with the engine, deactivating the coolant system, setting the ship to overheat. I made my way back to my landing craft and subsequently, my ship.

"There is something you must see, something that the Orokin have been trying to hide."

The voice reappeared, I still didn't know its source, but it left me with coordinates to follow. Those coordinates led me to to the norther pole of Lua, where my landing craft left me at an old Orokin vault. I remember walking up to to that vaults giant golden door. The door opened in my presence, revealing an abandoned safe house. I transversed the vault's long corridors, until I came across a waterfall leading to a large pond in the middle of a circular room. My display began flaring with interference as I approached the pond. Hearing a noise, I turned around, finding myself surrounded by Dax soldiers. The soldiers at the center stepped aside, and from their shadows appeared the head Executor.

"Sorry Tenno, but you do not belong here."

The Executor pulled out a disc and threw it above my head, causing my body to go limb. Before blacking out I heard a voice, not the Executor's, but the woman's again.

"Sorry my child, I have failed you, your sacrifice will not be in vain."

Entry 1: Muertos 5/8/16

Spoiler

When the Sentients came, the Orokin were scared. When the Orokin saw no other way and they looked to the Void, they understood that there was no greater fear than death itself. So the Orokin took the Void and shaped it into an instrument of death and pointed it at the Sentients. When the fighting began, there stood an army, when it ended, only the void remained.

Entry 2: Nuke 6/7/16

Spoiler

"Sister, what's going on?"

I asked in panic

"Be quiet, someone is coming."

she scolds

The room was filled with other children who were about my age, all of us were scared and waiting for our fate to be determined. Then the large golden door opened in front of us and a young woman walked through

she greeted us with a warm smile.

"Hello children, I am Margulis, and I will be your caretaker from now on. Many of you may be wondering why you are here; you are here because something has happened, an event that has gifted you all with extraordinary powers beyond anything that we could possibly believe, even by the standards the Orokin have already set."

The woman, now known to us as Margulis, walked around asking every child questions, when she got to us, my sister stood firmly before me in a defensive position.

"Get away from us!" My sister yelled.

"I will not hurt you, I promise you, I have only come to ask you a question."

The woman turned her gaze toward me.

"Tell me, what do you dream you can become."

I stepped forward, from behind my sister.

" th....that one day ... I can become the kind of person who fears no one!"

She smiled and patted me on the head and turned her gaze toward my sister, who watched her with piercing eyes.

"What do you dream you can become?"

My sister stared at her and after a brief moment she said

"the type of person no enemy ... could escape my wrath."

the womens smile faltered and she nodded at this ....as if understanding her meaning...

"You both seem very strong and determined. Now, come with me there is much to do"

she extends her hand

I slowly reach out for that hand that holds our future ..our dream

Entry 3: Gremlyn 9/22/16

Spoiler

Do you know what power is? Many see it as the expert use of skill, a show or raw strength, or the crackle and burn of munitions. Many also see it as the harnessing of the arcane, the supernatural, and the divine in order for on to play God. I am a Dax Soldier, simple in my craft, I thought I was powerful, until that dreadful day. It was on that day my squadron was sent to quell a rebelling fought by degraded workers. Once on our landing craft, we learned we'd be accompanied by one ofthem. It was trickster fey, forever clinging to its lost shadows. After landed on the planet's surface, we approached an old mining complex that had been long abandoned. When we entered the complex, my squad noticed that the devil tailing our shadows was now lost in the darkness. We made it to a dilapidated refining platform, after searching the room, we quickly came under enemy fire. Our skirmish had lasted minutes, but it felt as if hours had past. As the fighting stopped, I surveyed my surroundings, only three of my squad members survived. The room began filling with troops again and we were surrounded on all sides. My troops and I stood, cherishing these last few moments we thought had, until an explosion erupted in between the workers. They all turned to look and saw and as they did more explosions went off in the crowd. I watched as the little fey gracefully danced between the enemies, destroying their weapons and breaking their skulls in a single prolonged and fluent motion. After the rebellion was quelled, it vanished once again. I learned from that thing on that day, that true strength i not your strength, but rather how you utilize the strength that were given to you.

"Does she do anything other than just paint."

"Our observations show that she doesn't, or rather doesn't need to sleep nor eat. It takes her exactly fifteen minutes produce master pieces rivaling those of Earth's ancient past."

"I see, she is rather talented. However immunity to sleep deprivation and hunger are common amongst all the subjects, so what makes her so special?"

It's a start, Tenno. You used the word "course" several times, it became very repetitive. It also gives too much away that would be revealed in the 2nd Dream, and if this were put in Volt Prime's codex entry, then it would be accessible to people before they complete that quest, resulting in spoilers.

Most importantly, don't stop, keep at it!

Thanks for the feedback, I am trying to become a better writer so I figure I might start somewhere. I will work on fixing the repetitiveness with other vocabulary. I'll leave the volt one with the semi-spoilers as is, but I'll be more careful in future entries.

Edit: I edited the repetitiveness, I hope it sounds better.
