So I'm trying to curve it and it only goes left, is that how its supposed to be or nah?

You have to hold the click button to curve it right.

mine is the opposite, tap it to curve right, hold to curve left

I've had it curve both ways, but I went into the practice arena earlier and tried a bunch of throws that only went to the right.

Edit: If it's tap vs hold for turns, that doesn't seem very good since tap/hold is for distance otherwise.

It seems like the arc direction is hold vs tap now.. might be mistaken but it felt like timing dictated it before hotfix 2 (tried it in practice mode after hotfix 1, and when I slid longer it went left, shorter went right)
