Add Artifact Leveling.

Why not add Artifact leveling to the game maybe give each 5 levels, for the damage ones it starts at 10% and goes up by 5% per rank (for 30% total when maxxed). Energy siphon for example could level up enough to give maybe 1.5-2 energy per second once it hits level 5, same for the hp heal one. Scavenger mods could increase drop rate more, and also grant more ammo per pickup when leveled up.

The only issue is then that 1 energy syphon would provide the benefit of your whole team being equipped with it. And then if your whole team equips it you would be getting 8 energy per second. That would pretty much be ultimate spam city as every 13 seconds you could use your ultimate again.

If they do allow mods like that to level up they would have to stop it from stacking or something else to keep it balanced. Otherwise everyone equips either the energy syphon or damage mods and suddenly gets +120% damage or effectively infinite energy.

Considering the suggestion of Rank 5 for Artifacts, that means: 1 Energy every 2 seconds for Ranks 1~4 and 1 Energy every 1 Second at Rank 5. Having to go through four ranks with no bonus may seem frustrating but just to have twice the benefit at rank 5 for me would be worth it.

This would make it so we don't have to use 4 energy siphons to be effective though. A team might actually want something like rifle amp on one or two people. Also, I think DE has hinted at a energy system rework so hopefully we'll see naturally regenerating energy so energy siphon's role is downplayed a bit.

They might as well do a single level if this were the route they took. Having a small bonus at each rank is definitely the better idea. Even if it's only +0.2 energy/sec per rank it's better than nothing.

You can never assume that people wont bring it in and make it horribly overpowered. So while you can do some balancing about a group bringing in one of the artifact, you also have to balance it around the group bringing in 4 of the same artifact. People *will* bring in 4 energy siphon artifacts and then complain how stupidly easy the game is made suddenly. And with 2 energy per second you are regenerating energy at a decent rate anyways.

So while you can do some balancing about a group bringing in one of the artifact, you also have to balance it around the group bringing in 4 of the same artifact. People *will* bring in 4 energy siphon artifacts and then complain how stupidly easy the game is made suddenly. And with 2 energy per second you are regenerating energy at a decent rate anyways.

Yes, I do agree that so much energy regen would be OP with the current system. If energy gets reworked then leveling artifacts are much more viable. As is they could just have energy siphon be only a single level until the energy is changed.

That would keep the leveling balanced and would encourage artifact diversity.

Not being able to stack would be bad. In pub games at least 1 person is probably not going to get any use out of their artifact. I figure this is why they stack currently, it's much better for team synergy.

It depends on what artifacts are brought to the table, but if they are allowed to level up to that point then they need to do something to address how OP some stacking combinations of artifacts will become.

Ideally they will create bosses and manage artifacts in a way that a team would benefit more from having a few different artifacts than 4 of a single kind. Obviously some combinations will work better than others but if the artifacts are reasonably close in the benefits they give then we should see lots of different combinations that are effective.
