Study Of Tenno Biology

sorry if anything remotely like this already got mentioned (I kinda skimmed after the first few replies) but here are my tinfoil ramblings

the orokin civilization were at war with an unknown race called the sentients. the fact that they are called "the sentients" implies (in my opinion) that they consisted of something that is not typically sentient, maybe a hyper-advanced race of self aware machines or something.

during the war the orokin race studied the sentients only to discover that each individual sentient had its own psyche/personality drawing to the conclusion that these enemies were not some mass-produced set of robots programmed with your normal, run-of-the-mill artificial intelligences, instead they discovered that the biological ancestors of the sentients found a way to digitize their consciousnesses (spellcheck is telling me that is not a word) in their quest for immortality or something

the orokin, being clever, managed to reverse engineer the sentients' tech and digitized a select few(million) of their own to have their conscious states ripped from their physical bodies (because science) and implanted into synthetic organisms that would be known as warframes

the warframe consists of a cybernetically enhanced, semi-organic endoskeleton (the things you can see in the warframe cryopod, and make up the "[warframe] systems" in the foundry) that has a highly durable exoskeleton grafted to the outside (helmet and chassis)

these brave souls who essentially gave up their human lives to become warriors where known as the tenno

because the tenno themselves are just the digital constructs installed into a warframe, that opens up the possibility to have themselves transferred between warframes, which explains how the tenno can somehow change genders as they are merely switching between a couple of husks that they own.

enough of my sentances!

anyone else noticed that they breathe? aim your primary and you will see that the weapon goes up and down, wich looks exactly as breathing. Also, you can see steam going out of the masks "respirator" on cold missions.

Not really. As long as they have an organic brain they would need to breath. Even with oxygen carrying nanites instead of hemoglobin they'd have to breath sometimes. All it rules out is full conversion cyberbrains, uploads and nanite masses. Unless its the suit that's breathing. They are partially biotech after all.

But if they need to breath they must have some kind of lungs, right? if not, why would their "body" go up and down? (same as the movement our muscles do to get air in and out of our lungs)

Not necessarily. Spiracles are an alternative to lungs that would make sense on the armour, and it would inflate and deflate slightly as well.

The meta real reason they rock slightly as though they are breathing? It's an animation trope, because absolute stillness looks really friggin wierd. Human eyes expect to see a humanoid breath. Even if the lore ends up stating they are immortal transhumans with no organs at all they will still be animated as though they are breathing.

Maybe breathing is a residual reflex.. or perhaps indeed, the suits and or Tenno need to respirate.

Yeah, maybe its the suit imitating breathing, Thought this confirms they have some kind of muscles, they coudnt do it if not. They already tense for power attacks as you said, so it looks like they do have atleast some of the muscles (or all) the human body has.

True but the composition will say a lot about what they are capable of.

Two real world contenders for cybernetic muscle tissues are Carbon Nanotubes and Memory metal.

CNT (nanospores?) is 600x as strong and 8x as fast as human muscle tissue of equal mass.

Memory metal (morphics?) is up to 1000x as strong and 2x as fast as muscle tissue.

Both still need to flex, they work almost exactly like human tissues just waaaaay better.

I'm not saying the Tenno are that strong (mostly because combat would start looking MG Revengeance) but with some nanospores and morphics threaded through some genetically enhanced muscles, maybe 6-10x as strong as us? Certainly.
