Well, you need two things:  The actual frame built in your foundry and an open slot for it.

To get the frame simply farm its parts off of the boss that drops it, build those and put them together with the main BP of the frame (typically found in the market console).

Next you need an open slot, you should have 2 to start with and be able to buy another 1 or 2 with staring platinum.

Claim the item from your foundry and BOOM your done.

To get more Warframes you have to either buy them from the market with platinum or build them.

Buying them with platinum will give you an extra Warframe slot and an Orokin Reactor with the Warframe. I suggest not doing this for most Warframes since all of them are farmable.

To build them you can farm their part blueprints (i.e. Excalibur Chassis, Excalibur Systems, and Excalibur Neuroptics) from bosses. Build those parts, and buy the Warframe blueprint from the market. (NOTE: Warframe blueprints are different from the Warframes themselves, they can be found if you click the Warframe in the market, on the bottom it shows 'Blueprint' and it will transfer you to the Blueprint section. It should cost CREDITS not PLATINUM, this one :credits: NOT this one :platinum: .

Some Warframe parts can be bought in the Dojo Lab, or obtained through Quests.

Most Warframes are obtained by purchasing the Frame Blueprint from the Market Terminal for Credits. Then you go to the boss that drops the Part Blueprints for that frame and farm them. You will need the Chassis, Systems, and Neuroptics Blueprints, which can take as little as three runs, to dozens of runs to have all the parts drop for you. Then you build the parts in your Foundry, then build the Warframe.

Some Warframes have their Part Blueprints awarded from completing quests, that are given to you as you progress through the Solar System and level up.

Some other Warframe's are from joining a clan, and purchasing the Blueprints and Part Blueprints from the Tenno Lab in your clan's Dojo: specifically Zephyr, Banshee, Volt, and Wukong.

Nezha's parts are acquired from Sortie's or by trading with other players.

Vauban's part blueprints are awarded in alerts.

Prime parts are found from farming and opening Relics at Fissures, and from trading with other players.

For specific frames, consult the Warframe Wiki.

Do assassinations for regular warframe parts, keep doing an assassination, say captain vor for example, until you have the neuroptics, chassis and systems blueprints.

You then use your foundry to build all three after getting the parts, then purchase the blueprint of that warframe from the market to assemble the three pieces in your foundry.

Each individual piece takes 12 hours to build unless you rush with plat, but can be built simultaneously to save time, the complete warframe however will take 72 hours to finish,

-

Another method is farming void relics for parts, though this is a whole other system of loot gathering that is best experienced first, this method will get you "prime" weapons and warframes, but will require you to farm for the blueprint as well.

-

Some warframes are also unlocked during quest chains, though they are generally locked behind mastery levels, though usually low ones.

-

To finally collect your frame you will need an open slot that you purchase with plat, if you do not have intention to put money into the game you can trade relic loot for platinum in the trading chat.

On a final note I would recommend doing any nitain extract alerts you see as a lot of newer frames require a lot to build.
