Valkyr Prime Shield Bug?

Question

Hi Guys,

Noticed yesterday, base shield at max level is 150, added in Redirection at 400% and it only went to 350 shield.

I don't know if this is a bug but its making her very very squishy, especially when Nekros Prime weighed in at 1,065 shield with the same % of redirection at max rank!

Anybody else noticed this.. ??

Thanks!!

That is still incredibly low for a melee based warframe no..???

The armor is very high and so is the base health. The damage reduction from the armor just affects damage to her health so shield is not important on her.

Her tankiness depends on her abilities and her armor, she has 700 armor which gives her exactly 70% damage reduction to hp without mods.

As concluded before, you are better off ignoring Valkyr's shielding, instead focusing on her armor and health.

With a maxed steel fiber, she can have 1472 armor, which amounts to a 83% damage reduction (enemies deal 17% of their true damage). More effective than Equinox's Pacify at 250% power strength!

In addition to Steel Fiber:

Also realize Quick Thinking and Flow(Primed Flow) can capitalize on further expanding her effective health pool.

225 energy is the equivalent of an additional 540 health which is protected by the same Armor stat.

Flow increase energy pool to 450 (637 with Primed Flow) which is an additional 1,080 (1,528 with Primed Flow) energy health which is still protected by her Armor damage mitigation.

You have a Prime candidate for Rage+Quick Thinking (Pun intended)*

Valkyr's shield values are really only useful for two things: HiJack shield draining missions (Where Shield Restores are much more effective than slotting Redirection or Vigor (Primed Vigor), for increasing shield capacity due to Overshields.

&

Paralysis Shield Damage

Because of how Paralysis scales from current shield values, it is still better to use shield Restores for Overshields rather than use Shield Capacity mods.

Vigor + Redirection and being level 30 will net you 430 Shields

Max Overshields is 1200 on top of max Shields.

So 1350 with no Shield mods or 1680 with Vigor & Redirection eating 2 slots.

(299% Power strength allows 430 Shields to be 2,249 AoE Impact damage (4,499 on headshots)

Vs 299% Power strength on just 1200 Overshields is 6,279 (12,558 on headshots) AoE damage)

For Prolonged Paralysis Shields value for damage is not important as the Power strength directly increases stun duration.(Rather than Duration increasing stun duration*)

TL; DR don't focus on Shield value and instead utilize her high Armor damage mitigation coupled with Rage + Quick Thinking + Flow for a large effective health pool.

Couldn't say it better.

In total, using only Steel Fiber and Vitality, you have up to around 4 503 effective health (counting with shielding). Using Steel Fiber, Vitality, Quick-thinking and Primed Flow, you have up to around 13 491 effective health. Needless to say, one of the most durable frames-- specially taking into account we aren't counting in Warcry's buff.
