Can't transference into a worm

So I'm doing TWW and I got to a room where I gotta stun a worm, Transference into it and move on. Thing is, I can't. I mash my E button anytime it's close to me, yet it still kills me.

Anybody know how to fix that? I really wanna see the rest of the quest.

You hit E when it moves up from the ground, shortly before attacking you, right? Or did you like go back to the previous Maw that stays in the ground until you're attacked?

Also, a (SPOILER) tag would be appropriate in that title.

Your abilities are reset when you replay the quest, the only worms you can use transference on are the ones that appear toward the end that are already uncovered and no longer burrowing.

You say both. You've gone back to the ones you have to evade, don't do that.

Ok, I'm lost now. on the map it has 2 lines: a fat one and a skinny one. Which one do you have to go?

As long as your moving forward, I don't think it should matter. Just try to get out of your previous location :P Good luck!
